2 friends coming from South Africa…
2 friends coming from South Africa asked if I could help them find an agent to bring them over to Vietnam.
Enter a lady from VTJ. Advertising the job, she used ' support for visa at airport, trc and work permit. No money was requested until she said its near Phong Nha cave and 1200 usd salary.
Then a request for 3500 usd. To support your trc,your WP and your hotel and visa at airport.
Seriously no support just pay her 3500 usd per person and thats normal. I asked some critical questions, then she stopped the chat.
Be careful out there.

It has several things we want to make it clearly & exactly when exchanging with you about the offer in Quang Binh Province:
+ About the offer:
For all teachers we work with, Teachers know Vietnam is still in complicated situation of Covid-19. Many schools/centers both cities & provinces closed for long-term. Some employers can transfer online to still keep business at the time, some can't. Also because of the situation, the employer's demand of recruiting Teachers outside Vietnam doesn't have many as before. Every day, we always receive Teachers outside Vietnam in our system ask for supporting about jobs in Vietnam for getting income because they also face difficult situation in their countries of unemployment.
That's why we try to connect with some employers both cities & provinces to persuade them offer to support outside teachers. Even Employers can't afford to pay all fees but we still exchange with them to have partial payment when Teachers come Vietnam ( Specifically, in your case, the employer was willing to pay for teachers first all fees like visa & sponsor fee, hotel for quarantine, WP& TRC, except for flight ticket) & then they can deduct a part into month salary).
How can an employer pay all expenses to recruit an outside teacher coming at the time when covid-19 has lasted almost 2 years & they still try to maintain their business.
We don't support the idea that Employers have to pay all things for an outside teachers, because of your mindset, that's why it is less than offers for outside Teachers day by day.
+ Secondly, the offer from the employer doesn't target in native teachers or South African because we know that it will need to be other suitable one. But we still sent you because you wanted to find jobs for your two teachers to come Vietnam.
We always give the final choice to Teachers, not push any one in the offer they don't want.
Especially in the pandemic time, we give all offers we have for outside teachers if we can.
+ Thirdly, we didn't mentioned or requested 3,500 usd for teachers at all. This is the exactly message we deliver:
"The fee for coming Vietnam will include:
- Visa fee: 1,100 usd (You asked why it's so expensive, you're right, because it's strictly law about making visa & work permit for foreign teachers in Vietnam esp. in Provinces. The fee is for Teachers who can't have enough legalized degree, teaching certificate & 3-year teaching experiences)
- WP & TRC: 1,000 usd (The employer cover 50%)
- Travelling & hotel for quarantine: 1,300 usd (One-way flight ticket + hotel for 7-days of you have two doses of vaccines, 14 days if not)
The center can pay first & deduct a part into your monthly salary"
=> so totally, it will be 2,900 usd for visa + sponsor fee, Wp+Trc, Hotel, one-way flight ticket. You can check with any employer or related department about the fees, we clearly all things for teachers because the final purpose is Teachers can come & work for our centers/school.
+Finally, you didn't asked any critical questions, you just repeated why teachers have to pay all fees, why employers don't cover anything, would you do that if they offered you?
All final choices are from teachers, we didn't forced any teachers to get offers they didn't want.
So we just want to say that don't use the subjective notions from any individual to judge a thing badly.
You need to put certain things in certain picture & in specific area.
We are confident to say that we have never taken any money from teachers for making illicit profits.

I have been using VTJ for a few years…
I have been using VTJ for a few years since my arrival in Vietnam. They have always been very good with quality teaching jobs postings. With the pandemic, I was surprised to be contacted by Sophie one of their recruiting specialists. She had a job suggestion for me and asked me to submit my documents for consideration. I ended up getting the job with a training center that is offering online training for now. Sophie was very professional and supportive throughout the application process. Lots of jobs but long initial registration process

Non- progress in teaching English in Vietnam
Overview, traditional Vietnam teaching jobs are almost the same as they were decades ago. Unchanged methods even Ss in basically elementary, secondary and high school levels. Merely focusing on grammar structures, assignments only, vocabulary vietnamese-translated having to be done and learnt by hearts of innocent students at all ages.
All are causing big problems speaking, giving ideas, communicating socially. And a lot more!

I have a many times my applications to…
I have a many times my applications to this company but not got any teaching jobs. I have been teaching English in the Australian Scotch Center, Bright Horizon, VietAction & Talky as a cover Teacher. Last September I was a cover Teacher almost every day in the morning and afternoon time in Public Schools covering again. Now I'm Teaching in Apollo as a cover Teacher every evening. Your company hasn't never offering to me a teaching job. I have Barchelor certificate, Technical School certificate (an engineer of electronics) & a TEFL. I'm married with a Vietnamese woman and we have a daughter. I have a resident card. During my teaching years in Hanoi I never haven't cancel a lesson on the contrary i have covered young teachers when it's raining, they're sick (a little flu) or the're tired after parties. Only thing or let's say an information what I have got from your company that I should have a TEFL and I have it. I'm from Finland and I can speak 3 languages because it belongs to our education starting in Primary school. I think I'm the highest educated teacher in Hanoi. I can say also to you that my wishes concerning salary isn't 500.000VND / hour or more. I'm satisfied if I get 450.000VND/ hour or 2100 dollars / month. I don't care is 80 or 100 hrs that have to teach.
That's all so far. I only want to teach English, Math, Electronics, Finnish in the day time.

OK for finding jobs, but it's a horrible user experience. It's hard to navigate and sooooooo slooooooooow.
Pages take around 20 seconds to load. It takes about ten clicks to get to the place where you can edit your page, and just takes forever.
You also can't upload single photos so you have to delete them all and upload them all to change just one.
Everything about it is so slow to use it drive me insane.
When I worked in tech 7 years ago there was a saying: slow is the new downtime. VTJ would do well to realise that.
