Stayed at the Wirral hotel for Christmas while visiting family. Air con cooling system in the room ran on and off for hours overnight (even though it was not switched on) sounded like a cross between... See more

Wedding in Swansea
Went for a wedding but stayed the weekend in Swansea. Upgraded to the club room, it was lovey and spacious.
Ground floor is very busy and loud from the bar/ restaurant but staff were helpful. Food was great as well as the service from the staff.
Cons-
Drink prices are DISGRACEFUL! £4.55 for a pint of coke was awful.
Food and drinks ordered through the app never come through. Had to resolve issue after 15 minutes of waiting for them.
Worth the stay.
Okay for the money.
We stayed at The Village Hotel in Hull. The hotel was okay for the money and for a short stay, for us no more than two nights. Our biggest gripe was the food. I ordered the gammon, which was terrible. The gammon itself was like a thick cut of bacon and overcooked, accompanied by a few thin frozen chips and not the skin on fries’ as per menu. For £18.50 I’d expect far better. The hotel also seems to have a bizarre policy of serving the starters with the main course. The staff were bemused when we pointed this out.

Great hotel for a night out in Newcastle.
Pathetic customer service
I started Leeds South gym this month and received parking fine for parking on double yellow lines which are barely visible at 5 Am. Still village hotel is saying nothing they can do as parking company issues fine. I don’t get it, the land is owned by hotel and lines are bot visible. Biggest mistake of joining this gym.
Shocking service from Gym Manager and Member services
Tried cancelling membership after 5 years due to ongoing price increase that I wasn’t informed about. Cancelled under term 4.5.3 of t&c’s allowing you to give 1 month notice instead of of 3 months.
No contact from village instead I received communication from a debt collector chasing money I allegedly owed them.
Took many weeks to resolve to get my account closed correctly. Member services is impossible to get hold of. Repeatedly On-hold for 30mins only to get call cut off. Gym Manager Gary King was extremely unhelpful ignoring all communications. Had to go down to the gym in person to resolve as head office do not resoond, but Gary refused to come out to discuss instead leaving it to his supervisor who was finally able to resolve the issue for me.
Shocking behaviour from a company to bully long standing customers and use debt collectors to chase payments that had been incorrectly administered
Warrington Hotel
Warrington Hotel. Colleague stayed there and left his air pods in the room before departing for US. Tried to contact the hotel 30 times using a number given by central service team.......no one ever picked up the phone. Emailed them using details given by central service team and guess what......no reply. To says their customer service is shocking would be an understatement! Stay well clear.
Family Changing Rooms - Disgusting
I have seen in the press recently that some hotels are getting a refurb which is great, but what is happening with our Coventry hotel?
The family changing are inadequate in size and are quite frankly disgusting! There aren’t enough rooms to change, they are dirty, the lightening is poor, serious safe guarding issues. Considering the money that is spent as a family in the pool and bar, these need to be improved ASAP, my daughter is now refusing to come swimming due to the family changing rooms.
Christmas party 2025.
Christmas party 2025.
The entertainment was very poor you couldn't even see her the singer.
It was called divas night but yet only one singer.
Room was freezing cold
Food was average could definitely improve. Won't be going back this year
I ve had a bad experience with my stay…
I ve had a bad experience with my stay at Nottingham so emailed their customer service and despite chasing, I ve had no response.
If a company can't even bother to respond to a complaint, that just shows the level of service.
Food is bad value for money, I had cottage pie and was served about 2 spoons of meat heaped with loads of mash and served with another helping of sweet potatoes mash, £17 not well spent.Jacuzzi out of order for a number of months.
Definitely would not recommend for anyone to eat there as you won't get value for money
Very disappointing experience at…Village Bristol
Very disappointing experience at Village Hotel Bristol.
We stayed as a family and one of the main reasons we chose the hotel was to use the darts facilities with our child. Unfortunately, the rules around who could use the darts were not communicated clearly at all. On the night we were told conflicting information and ultimately weren’t able to use the facility as expected, which caused a lot of frustration and upset.
What was most disappointing was the response afterwards. The General Manager later acknowledged in writing that the age guidance had not been communicated clearly and that it had even been stated incorrectly. Despite admitting this, the hotel still refused to offer any refund or meaningful gesture of goodwill.
It’s frustrating to have a hotel recognise that their communication was wrong but still conclude that there was “no service failure”. For a stay costing £288, I expected a much more customer-focused approach.
Mistakes happen, but how a business handles them afterwards is what matters. In this case, the hotel chose not to take responsibility in a meaningful way.
Sadly, based on this experience, I wouldn’t return.
Village Bracknell team very helpful
Having hit a brick wall with head office, I decided to speak to the local Hotel team to get options for renewing my Leisure membership. As I was doing this for the 4th year running, I wanted to see what options were available. Firstly Sian who answered my initial enquiry, then Harry in the sales team, both listened to my needs then put forward the most suitable options. They were both professional and helpful. I managed to take advantage of the latest promo that saved me a bit of money & time. Thanks to the both of them.

NEVER AGAIN VILLAGE HOTELS
Update: I have now received what I consider to be a very disrespectful email from Stewart, the general manager of the hotel.
Despite several attempts to contact him by phone, Stewart has avoided my calls and instead instructed the receptionist to ask me to email him, which I did. In my email I respectfully explained that the issue in my room, as well as the one in my mum’s room, was never properly resolved.
His response essentially stated that because maintenance attended my room, I should be satisfied with that — even though the problem returned. For context, the toilet in my room would not even flush a single piece of toilet paper. Imagine the embarrassment of having to call maintenance simply to flush something so minor. Yet according to Stewart, the fact that maintenance came once means the issue was resolved.
I repeatedly raised my concerns with staff during our stay and made it clear how dissatisfied we were. In the end, we cancelled our stay for the following night due to the ongoing issues. That night was refunded, but there has been no accountability for the problems we experienced.
What makes this even more confusing is that Stewart has not even acknowledged my request for a refund for my mum’s room, yet my sister-in-law — who experienced the same issues — has already been refunded.
How does that make any sense?

Stayed over at the village hotel In Warrington, would definitely stay again all the staff were super friendly and helpful, one staff memeber coral made everything much easier for me showing me where things were or if I needed help in anyway she was happy to do so straight away

Stayed recently, room was nice, price was good and anything I needed I was helped with. Special thanks to Coral who facilitated all of my requests.
An ok stay
We stayed in Eastleigh as it’s only about five miles from Southampton Port, which makes it convenient when travelling.
The hotel room was nice on first impression, although it was very cold when we entered. Despite booking a club room on the top level, we could still hear noise from the gym below, which was disappointing. The rooms themselves are quite bland in décor.
Cleanliness was somewhat acceptable, but the overall experience was affected by noise — children running up and down the corridor made it difficult to relax. I also really did not like the bathroom door design. It’s not a proper solid door, and you can see through it, which offers very little privacy. A standard door would be much more appropriate.
We only stay here for convenience due to its location near the port, but overall it’s not somewhere I would choose for comfort or a peaceful stay.
Village Leeds North
Stayed at Village Leeds Birth. The room was clean and the pool and spa were lovely. The reception was unhelpful as weee the gym staff. Towels in the room had holes and one was dirty (large black mark). When I checked in I was given a room that was already occupied. It was changed but for a room even further from reception. This is a large and very badly signed hotel. Room service ordering didn’t work. I had to go to reception again and was told to order food in the bar because ‘obviously’ they couldn’t do anything about room service. Overall not a nice experience.
exceptional service
I stayed over a couple of weeks ago and I could not get enough of the place.
All the staff in the pub need commemorating as they go above and beyond to uphold and maintain exceptional customer.
Me and my partner stayed for dinner, I had a burger and my partner had the steak. Both means were amazing.
Thank you to staff at solihull village grill
We had a 40th birthday meal for my daughter at solihull village gym. Can I thank Carl the manager for setting up part of the restaurant for us he was very helpful all the way through from booking to completion.
23 people ordered and the staff were amazing taking the orders. After a little wait, which was not a problem, the food was delivered to our tables, all the orders were correct and hot, no one had to wait,. Once again the staff were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the overall experience. So a big thank you to Craig and his team for a truly great day for my daughter.
