Disappointing furniture quality and after sales service
I purchased 8 new Titus Dining chairs with a black finish and bespoke seat covering. The style and comfort of the chair is excellent. Unfortunately the quality of the black finish on the oak legs was very disappointing. Apart from the legs of the chairs not being smoothly prepared, the black finish was not uniform and in parts, the underlying oak wood shows through, particularly in bright daylight. Vincent Sheppard were requested to exchange the chairs per the terms of their guarantee but they would not do so without their local agent having to purchase replacements. Vincent Sheppard claimed that since Brexit, the delivery costs for replacement items from Belgium are prohibitive. This limitation of their service was never explained to us before we ordered the chairs. We feel that it is inequitable that the local agent whose service has been outstanding should have to bear the cost of a manufacturing defect and we are now having to accept the chairs as they are. Vincent Sheppard are fully aware of our disappointment.
