Hidden fees and unauthorised charge

I paid €1.99 for a VIN report on vinmaster.co, but the report was never delivered.
Exactly 7 days later, my card was charged €49.99 without my authorisation. There was no clear disclosure of any subscription or additional fees during checkout.
I placed only one order, received nothing, and was charged extra. After reading other reviews, it’s clear this is not an isolated case.
I have requested a refund and cancellation and will proceed with a bank chargeback if this is not resolved.
Use extreme caution.

I purchased a False vin report

I purchased a VIN report from Vinsmart. The vehicle came back clean. No issues or liens,So I puchased the car for $6200 dollars. Three days later I went to import the car to mexico. When I presented the paperwork to mexican customs, they typed in the VIN and said angrily, this vehicle can not enter due to a $16000 dollar lien.It was a fight to get the paperwork and vehicle back from them, they were going to seize it. But two frustrating hours later they did return it. They showed me it had a lien on it when purchased brand new in 2018 from Chrysler. I emailed Vinsmart 3 times over 4 days until finally a response. They said
"Oh" we will refund your $9.95 puchase which they did. I then wrote a letter stating I purchased the car based on your report, what are you going to do ? and sent them the letter. The did not even respond, over the next week,2 follow up emails and still no response. So next will be to hire a lawyer and go to court. POOR customer service, they state they are the best at researching out any liens or issues on vehicles because they are partnered with NMVTIS and other companies are not partnered with them. Bottom line is they sold me a false report that has cost me aroud $7000 dollars, and now I will have lawyer fees.BEWARE.

Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless. I needed to find a lien holder but the report does not show that info. All this info is available for free. Do a little research yourself. Go to the DMV websites and nhtsa.gov and you will find everything they charge you for. This is a waste of money!!!

I don't know why it has so many…

I don't know why it has so many positive reviews. I needed to know what company had a lien on my car. I ordered the $9.95 report and under lien is says, No record found.

When buying or selling a car, knowing if a car has a lien on it or not is very if not the most important thing to know.

Then they charge you a $2 fee to ask for a refund "a processing fee".

There record showed things that I already knew or could get for FREE.

Hi there,

I believe we spoke via email not too long ago. There are numerous reasons lien information may or may not come back. Most of the time it's pretty accurate. We are constantly improving our reports and I issued a 100% refund on your account and the $2 processing fee is an old policy we did away with. I saw the remains of it still on the site and we had it updated.

Sorry for the trouble and I hope you give us another shot in the future!

Thank you,

First time user of the service

First time user of the service, I need to verify the state of a title transfer for a vehicle, and found a referral through the DMV website to WINsmart. This looked like a more cost effective alternative than Carfax, but was not sure if the report would reflect the recent title change I had requested.

Was able to quickly connect with support, and get my questions answered. Applying for the report was painless, and received an email with results within just a few minutes. In may case, some of the details I needed are not provided due to privacy laws in California, however the report included links to document required to follow through via this state's DMV (this step saved me about 30 minutes in research).

Again, support was very responsive and able to guide me through the process of what I was attempting to accomplish ( timeframes for DMV transactions in my case). Would definitely use this service again, recommend to a friend.

Vin' Smart service

The Vinsmart car check portal was great, provided an apt service, similar to Carfax and even at a low price. I was searching through lot of other vin check services, and by the summary of providing exact lien or loan details owned on the used cars, it made me select it. And their customer service was also good, just sent an email and contacted in 8-10 hrs for the reply.
