Scammed my mum

Visited my mum, unfortunately she handed her debit card to them for details…. so far have they have taken hundreds out of her bank account and no sign of glasses.
We have been in touch with bank to block the card.
Scammed an old lady. Do not trust this firm.

Prescribed wrong glasses for my elderly…

Prescribed wrong glasses for my elderly mother (they were invited in by her care home), which she could not wear, and then brushed me off to avoid changing them. They appear to offer a useful service to care home residents who are too frail to visit an optician. Don't be fooled. Replied to my first couple of emails where I politely asked for the prescription to be re-measured and the glasses re-made, making excuses about the right person not being available then finally blanked me. I sent 5 final emails all of which went unanswered and meanwhile my 95 year old mother could not see properly. She passed away last year. The company deprived a dying woman of her hard earned money and the last bit of enjoyment she could have got out of life by watching TV, seeing her grandchildren etc. This is a racket, pure and simple. Don't touch them with a barge pole and if possible don't choose a care home that lets them through the door!

AVOID

Only giving 1 star so I can leave a review.
This company is now called Sightcall and somehow gained entry to elderley managed apartments.
They knocked on all the doors and even when my elderly mum declined as she had an at home eye test 12 weeks earlier they pressured her into another one.
Her previous visit ended up in expensive reading glasses that she didn't need and an argument over an order for dark sunglasses that they couldn't provide but chased for payment.
Disgusting tactics.
AVOID!

Terrible customer service

Mum’s Glasses were fine but then we needed a repair. Repair/after sales service is non existent - if you can ever get through on the phone, they ignored emails too. We finally got through and Vision Call would not pick up the glasses to repair them. They said they’d send a Jiffy bag envelope for us to return the glasses. They never sent one, despite us chasing 2 more times. And despite them firmly promising to send. We gave up and went with another company.
It turns out Vision Call lost our Mum’s record - lost mum’s address etc

Absolutely dreadful

Absolutely dreadful. They took months to visit my mother in a care home. When they did, the glasses (that cost a fortune) were incorrect. Been waiting months for them to replace the glasses and have not. Promised a revisit for aftercare and it hasn't happened. Tried to phone and all the lines are busy for ages. Also promised a second pair of reading glasses and nothing has happened with regard to those.

They could not even get my name correctly spelt on the invoice.

Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking. I was told that Visoncall has now been taken over - well, the same old terrible service remains in place. Why do you have to give your full details to at least 2 different people? (they blamed data protection lol) Then they told me that they are "a bit old fashioned" and cant e-mail when they want - they have to wait for another department to scan the prescription. What a joke. I want my Dads prescription, I am entitled to it (I have POA) They seem to be operating in the 1980's. It's just not good enough.

Send them away!

This company should be reported to authorities. I'm a qualified professional working in a Nursing home. I told these 2 vision call staff that the patients they're going to visit & check up has no mental capacity and that they will just destroy the eyeglasses. 2 weeks later, we received eyeglasses for these confused patients. For me, this is wrong! VC take advantage of these vulnerable people! I hate Vision call!!!!

Shameful company praying on societies…

Shameful company praying on societies most vulnerable, reading already posted reviews this seems to be a ongoing theme, glasses prescribed for elderly residents of care homes at a extortionate rate (even if the resident is on pension credit and shouldn’t be paying)
My vulnerable nana had an appointment at her care home and was prescribed reading glasses (which a store optician has now explained she doesn’t need) and a pair of glasses that DO NOT meet my Nanas needs and was way off her correct prescription (the appointment went ahead without and family members present as we were not told when they would be arriving #veryconvenientforvisioncall), she was then billed for over £300 and the glasses posted to her, not even the courtesy to check if they fitted her face correctly, luckily my nana has a lot of family support and this has flagged up after losing them and they wanted to charge another £180 to replace, following this we decided to take her elsewhere which brought to light the massive errors, I feel devastated for all the elderly vulnerable people out there whom don’t have lots of family support, getting ripped off and still struggling with their eyesight due to incorrect prescriptions.
Absolute shame on you Vision Call and I hope your not trying to hide all these reviews by merging with OutsideClinic
I will be also reporting you Trading standards.

ITS A BIG ZERO AVOID THEM...

ITS A BIG ZERO AVOID THEM...
My mother is in a care home, vision call visited and checked her eyes.
This was 10 weeks ago.. the care home were told delivery would be within 10 days by post.
The care home telephoned vision call on the 7th Sept, and was told that the glasses had not been started as they were waiting for payment. No request for payment or deposit had been made prior to this.
I contacted vision call twice on the 8th Sept, my first call was not returned. On my 2nd call I asked why had payment not been requested sooner, and why the care home was not aware of payment. A poor apology was made that they had amalgamated with another company, and some data was not up to date, I was then transferred to make payment.
The person I spoke to asked me to pay £240.00 before my mother's glasses could be manufactured. He then advised the glasses would take a further 10 weeks.
This was the final straw and I told him I wouldn't be dealing with vision call.
I've read the reviews for this company, advised the care home to read them and not use them.
I called Spec Savers and arranged an appointment for my mother at the care home. Excellent customer service.
AVOID VISION CALL

One star is way too much for this…

One star is way too much for this appalling company!!!! 'Will call you back' is a standard answer to any question asked!! They NEVER call back... Looking at the reviews this is a waste of space rip off company. Ill be informing the care home not to use them in future!

I am a manager of a care home and…

I am a manager of a care home and recently had this company in to do eye tests on my residents. They were due first thing and arrived at lunchtime which is not a good time for us. The optician stated he couldn't see all of my residents due to the time scale. I asked for new glasses for 2 of my residents as they had broken. When I chased them up 3 weeks later I was informed these 2 residents had not had their eyes tested. They did as I was present! I am now going to another company to start all over again. Giving them 1 star is too much!!

Decided to check this company

Decided to check this company as something didn't quite feel right about the way they were operating in my mum's case.
There are six reviews on here all complaining and each of them only marking them a 1star. And yet the average mark shown on this website rates them as 2.5 star ! Something very fishy about this.

Terrible service and do not supply glasses.

Terrible service.
My father is in a care home and was tested without our knowledge, supplied with glasses which my mother was made to pay for.
When the glasses came they were not fit for purpose as the rx is incorrect.
4 months later no one has been to rectify.
My father is end of life care, so this company have basically “relieved” £134.00 from a dying man.
I hope you feel proud of yourselves.

If I could give 0 stars then I just…

If I could give 0 stars then I just would. My mother has dementia and cancer and resides in a care home. Without any family knowing they visited my mother then called me to say she had chosen some glasses. To my amazement she had managed to choose glasses with her name engraved, special tints and every extra available. I visit the care home at least four times a week and know my mother's limitations and her dementia severity. There is no way that my mother would make this selection as she does not have the capability to do so. I was called at work to ask how I wanted yo pay!!! Obviously I declined the £290 offer as my mother gets government assistance with such things and even though I explained this to vision call they have called several times to chase an order. Unethical, irresponsible and untrustworthy company.

Avoid at all costs

These people should not be allowed to operate. They prey on vulnerable people in care homes. They tested my Dad's eyes and my sister (who manages his finances) got a call out of the blue asking for £328.00 for glasses and asking how she would like to pay! He has a cataract and we are waiting for an appointment at the hospital regarding this. Any professional would have realised this. Avoid, avoid, avoid!
