Awful inventory system. Many items out of stock with no notification until days later.

I'm a Vitamin Shoppe customer and have placed many online orders in the past. I'd say about 30% of the time my order is delayed due to items that are out of stock but continue to be sold on their site. Many times, notification of the delay status doesn't come for 5 days or more, and then the expected ship date is another 2 weeks from that point. Customer service reps are friendly but of little to no help as all they can do is repeat what you already know. This is yet another business that will continue to lose business to competitors such as Amazon, who seem to have a monopoly on the best real-time inventory system out there.

Normally my review would be great but not this time.

I normally would write a great review because when I stop into the store I get welcomed in since I am there all the time. This time it is different. I was was on the phone for one hour and my problem was not solved. A supervisor stepped in multiple times and it still wasn’t solved. I asked to talk to different people and that didn’t happen. I asked multiple times for my order to be canceled so I can redo the mistake from The Vitamin Shoppe online order and finally after a long silence she let me know that she was finally working on that. I am so disappointed with everything about my order and this call. I hope I don’t have to call in anytime soon. No one wants to sit on the phone for one hour with no results. I am not happy at all and I hope the customer service staff learns better math and Vitmain Shoppe rules and policies.

WORST website ever

WORST website ever!
maybe I should be thankful for the money I'm saving because I can't order online due to their unstable glitchy website. This is the second go around dealing with problems processing orders online. Last time took about 3months to resolve, I go in store and they tell me, "yeah, we know, others are having the same problem" that time was an issue where order online, pick up in store wasn't available. This time my order is submitted and I even get the email saying we received your order. Then the one that says it's processing, but please wait. Then later I get one saying it was cancelled due to payment issue. Even though it's the card on file, the same card I have been using. Card company, says nope you're card is fine, your account is fine, we aren't even showing anything from Vitaminshoppe trying to process. They have a problem on their side. I've tried to place the order through the app, same problem. I've called multiple times and while the front-line people are great and they really do try to help and be courteous, it is beyond their ability. I get transferred to corporate and go through the whole thing again but they're rude and condescending and wont' listen, they are adamant that it is my card. Now, I'm not only frustrated, i'm mad. So the other day I go into the store and purchase a few items, same card, and no problems. They tell me, yeah, sorry the website has problems. So FIX IT! I tried one last time today to place an online order, same problem... I call and tell them look I just used the same card in store a few days ago. my last online order that processed a month ago was with this card. She tries to place the order herself and can't... apologizes, and again says yes, they've received multiple complaints and tells me she'll escalate it. During all this I had used my Healthy awards, which has not been credited back to my account either... If i didn't live in Hawaii, where options are somewhat limited, shipping is costly and slow, I would never order from them again.

Bad experience.

Bad experience.
They accepted my order with 3 different items, only one of them shipped at the end. The second item was out of stock, and they sent an email about it promptly. But the web site kept showing "processing" (in fact, it still does).
More than a week later they sent me two email about the third item - one read "out of stock, choose something else", the other - "sorry, this item will be delayed, it will ship in a week". It turned out the first email was correct.
The only thing that saved them from a one-star review is a network of brick-and-mortar stores, one of which was able to mitigate this bad experience to some extent.

SCAM UNAUTHORIZED TRANSACTIONS

Worst customer service I have EVER received. I cancelled my account 3 months ago by speaking with a representative on the phone. On the 3rd, $30 was taken out of my account with no email no order number, nothing. I called and was told I would get it refunded that day by a SUPERVISOR. I was lied to and after calling 3 more times, and every time they said it was already refunded. Turns out it wasn’t, and they will not pay back the charge for overdrafting my bank account. DO NOT SHOP HERE OR GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD. SCAM

Buyer Beware with vitaminshoppe.com

Buyer Beware. I was on auto delivery. Someone got into my acct via vitaminshoppe.com and changed the email address and ordered all 5 different items and sent to 5 different addresses.
I called vitaminshoppe.com and they realized it was a scam.
They said the orders that were fraudulent and they were manually ordered. Now sure that that means. You'd think if the user name and PW changed an alert email would go out to the original email or ask for confirmation but that didnt happen.
I had them close my acct. I asked for a refund for the items I didnt order.
The answer was call your credit card company and put in a dispute.
We will help. I called the credit card company and they were blown away that they would make me file a dispute report. It's going to take several weeks to get my funds back. SO LAME and Irresponsible of The Vitamin Shoppe.

19 days to receive item. No ability to speak to corporate

Placed an order for a product that we needed. It was supposed to ship within 3 days. 19 days later it arrived. Vitamin Shoppe apologized and offered me $5 off my next order. This is unacceptable and not an incentive to do business with them again. I asked to have someone from corporate email me or call me back. I was told that was not possible.

I will never do business with them again.

Lookout!

Their prices are good but beware if you order online , I'm sure they sold my email address to some marketing company because they won't deny it. Now I get these spam emails daily about stuff I'm not interested in and places thanking me for signing up that I've never heard of , etc. There ought to be a law against doing this. Still order from them for best price but give a phony email address. I wonder if the marketing company knows they're soliciting no one? I don't want them notified about this because they'll have my email address again and do the same thing. Words to the wise.

Deceptive Business Practices

Vitamin Shoppe Corporate Office March 6, 2018
300 Harmon Meadow Blvd
Secaucus, NJ 07094

RE: Deceptive Business Practices and Damages

To whom it May Concern,

On Jan 30, 2018, I placed an order #144821635512 for 3 Body Nutrition Trutein 45/45/10 Blend of Whey 4 Pound Powder VANILLA BEAN @ $49.93 each for $149.78. Upon receipt of the delivery package (1Z9367YV0304105987) I discovered the order was wrong. I immediately called the number on the manifest enclosed within the package. I was told by the The Vitamin Shoppe representative to discard the mistaken product and that a correct product would be immediately sent.

A month passed with no replacement. I was forced to spend over an hour on the phone with Jet and The Vitamin Shoppe representative on the evening of March 5, 2018 without a satisfactory resolution. On the morning of March 6, 2018, I again contacted Jet and asked to speak to a supervisor and that request was denied. I also contacted The Vitamin Shoppe and was instructed that it was not there problem to resolve. I have spent over three hours being bounced between two companies, both companies making false and misleading representations, both companies unable to provide the product I paid for a month ago.

I have just ordered the Corporate Certificate of Good Standing long form at the cost of $250 through the NJ.Gov website to receive the corporate information of addresses and corporate officers for both Jet.com.inc Entity # 0101031812 and the Vitamin Shoppe Entity # 0100953339, that I was refused by multiple Jet.com.inc and Vitamin Shoppe representatives. Fortunately, Rhode Island Courts have award substantial damages against for companies acting with similar behaviors.

I will be willing to discuss offers of settlement, until I receive that requested information for the New Jersey Government. Upon receipt of the Corporate Principles, I will be filing legal action to recover the funds taken from my family, compensation for the extensive time invested to recover my losses and damages as a resulting from the actions of by both companies.

Sincerely,

Joseph Ford

Echoing the reviews below

Very, very poor customer service at VitaminShoppe.com. Out-of-stock items listed as “Ships within 24 hours,” multiple unanswered emails though their own Feedback Forum, discourteous agents operating Live Chat… Overall, incredibly poor communication and a dreadful shopping experience.
Avoid the lure of the occasional coupon and avoid VitaminShoppe.com. It is not worth the trouble. I would recommend GNC or of course Amazon for nutritional supplement purchases.

The website is misleading

The website is misleading. It shows items that are not available in stock for delivery. Had to wait 2 weeks until the order got cancelled because the items were on backorder. These happened to me on 3 separate orders.
The customer care agents are horrible, 50% of them have no idea on how to place an international order or check if the items in question are available for shipping. However, the other agents do know how to handle these type of issues. One agent was very rude when i pointed out she doesn't know how to check the availability, she ended up hanging up on me after being very rude on the phone.
I would advise to check other website for supplement. They currently don't have any 5lbs whey or casein protein available to ship. No Optimum Nutrition Gold standard, No Dymatize, No Muscletech, No MusclePharm......

Misleading & Deceptive Business!!

I used to shop at this site but no longer do. Their business practice has changed lately. They have deceptive practices about the availability of the products they sell. When their website shows that an item is available and, ready for same day shipping, it should not take them 2 weeks to ship it. It happened to me on more than one occasion. All in all, I am dissatisfied with the way they do business!!

Very good company

I trust shopping at this site. I've made several purchases of products, and everything has been packaged well and has arrived in great condition. I've never had to contact customer service about any issues so far.
