I had been a member of VLH for several years and initially everything worked fine.

However, in 2025 I registered a small business (Gewerbe). After informing my VLH advisors, I was told that due to legal restrictions they are no longer allowed to provide tax advice in my case. Fair enough.

I provided all requested documents and my membership was confirmed to be terminated.

However, shortly after that, I received an automated message stating that:
• my membership continues until 31.12.2026
• I am required to pay a full membership fee of 399€ for 2026

This is despite the fact that VLH explicitly confirmed they cannot provide any services to me anymore.

In my view, charging a full annual fee while being unable to provide the corresponding service is highly questionable.

I have contacted them for clarification and hope this is just a misunderstanding. I will update this review depending on how the situation is resolved.

As a foreigner living in Germany i needed help with my tax declaration. 1st meeting was face to face and not bad. After a friendly reminder from my side they send me documents to sign so they could do my taxes. All signed and returned and after that complete silence. Since I moved out of the country I could not go visit. After months they replied on 1 of many emails asking for some more time. After couple of months i started writing and calling again but no reply. Contacted the support team and 1st emails were friendly and they were gonna try to figure out what went wrong but also here silence for months. I got again 1 reply on many emails and phone calls asking for a little more time, this was in June (writing in september).
Don't trust this company!! After 2 years of keeping me waiting I still havent done my taxes for 2023!

Unprofessional, lying, only interested in money for unperformed services, and will resort to antics to collect membership fees from you. Stay far away from them.

When I was there for the first time, she gave me some papers to sign. Since I did not know German, I didn’t realize it was a membership contract. One year later, I ended up doing my taxes with an app, where I received a larger refund. By the end of the month, I ended up paying her for doing nothing—she didn’t even reply to the letters that the finance office was sending me. I also had to pay a fee to the finance office for not responding on time.
