Awful experience in Paignton branch

Visited the Paignton branch the day of the Air Show. The place was empty other than one table of kids buying one shake between them, which should have been a red flag as town was heaving with people.

The blonde girl seemed flustered when we sat down and had to go back to the counter twice to get us enough menus (we were only a family of 4!!) and she couldn't get the card machine to work, so I had to help her as it was too painful to watch someone completely clueless do the same thing several times expecting a different outcome.

Our food arrived one by one after a delay, with the girl with long black hair mumbling something about issues in the kitchen when the first dish arrived. My husband's hash brown waffle was second to arrive but stone cold, so he took it up to the counter to request a replacement. He spoke to the chap who seemed to be in charge but he didn't apologise for the cold food, just that it would take '5 mins' to make a replacement.

Another dish arrived which wasn't particularly warm, but my son was so hungry after nearly 30mins wait and watching his brother eat his meal, that he ate it anyway. Mine arrived another 5-10mins later and we finally had a hot dish!! Not particularly tasty and definitely not worth the wait.

All of us were pretty much finished eating when the girl with the black hair came out with my husband's replacement meal and threw it down on the table at him. It was so rude and unnecessary- he'd been very polite when he asked for a replacement so there was absolutely no justification for her rudeness. She needs to get a new job if she doesn't like polite feedback when she herself mentioned issues about 20 mins earlier!!

If we hadn't paid upfront, we would have walked out without eating or paying it was that bad. The chicken tasted like they had heated up some cheap Birdseye fillets and none of it was worth the £11.50 per meal. A complete waste of money and will never go back, even though our kids normally love chicken & waffles.

I know that Paignton is generally a bit of a dump so you can't expect much, but I was shocked at just how bad this place was, especially for how much we paid.
