If there was a lower rating I would give it - such poor quality of bedding plants - no bigger than a 50p coin! The cost is ridiculous and the quality is poor. Cannot return - had similar experience last year - put it down to Covid but thought Waitrose may have got its act together - BUT HECK NO!! AVOID AT All cost - not worth it at all

Paid for nominated day delivery, three weeks later still no sign of it

Paid for nominated day delivery, three weeks later, no sign of it.

We spent £225 on a leaving gift for a colleague, ordered directly to their house and paid for nominated day delivery (for their last day). Three weeks later there's still no sign of it, I've been in touch with them multiple times and they've always promised to get back to me, which if they do they don't provide any helpful additional information. No tracking information was provided so the only way I can get updates is by calling them.

They're finally talking about sending another one or refunding it. Their only condolences is £4 off which is a little insulting.

Absolutely atrocious service

Absolutely atrocious service. We ordered a lot of monies worth of plants back in March. They arrived in an abysmal state, especially the grasses. The clematis has died and the grasses all but disappeared. We sent photos of the grasses costing around £7 each, admittedly early in the season but they really shouldn't have sent them out. They refused to acknowledge the state so we have complained again, mid April. One grass has gone, the stubble of the other still there. No growth.Still no acknowledgement. We just want a credit on our account. Don't buy from them get your plants from a decent garden centre. Lesson learned.

Whilst Waitrose is promoting…

Whilst Waitrose is promoting sustainable garden pots like metal trays and terracotta pots the packaging it comes in is the opposite in lots of plastic bags and polystyrene packaging ( the worst) wrapped the product which was then put in a card board box. If if knew, I would not have ordered. If you promote sustainable that applies to the packaging as well. Other retailers do care about this (when you find ones that is conscious about the environment) and also change to sustainable packaging. Waitrose and Crocus change your packaging. Shall not order again.

Sent the wrong plants

Different plants arrived to what I had ordered! Tried to get in contact with customer service but no-one replying. What a waste of money. Not ordering from them again.

Oh dear

Oh dear, what an awful, frustrating experience. I expected so much more from Waitrose. Let me say, though, from the outset, the two ladies I dealt with (?Sophie and Gemma?) at customer services were both lovely and did their best to be helpful.
So, when the order came, it was incomplete and a bistro set never arrived. I have to be honest and say that the things that did arrive looked cheap and disappointing and one item was slightly damaged. I had to chase up the missing bistro set (I had paid £10 for named day delivery). To be fair, I was refunded the delivery cost. So I was looking forward to getting the bistro set and when it was delivered, it was just left outside (fair enough with Covid) but no-one let us know, or rang the doorbell/knocked on the door, so a neighbour had to come over and tell my partner (who had been in all the time). I then realised that they had only sent half the set i.e. the chairs and not the table. It was simply the final straw and the whole experience had become stressful and tedious, having to chase all the time. I phoned and said I wasn't prepared to wait any longer for our proper order, that I had lost confidence in them and I would like everything collecting and a full refund. Again, to be fair, this was agreed by Waitrose. The items were not collected on the day they said they would be and despite both my partner and I being in the house working all day, when I phoned, I was told that they had tried to collect that day and no one was in. They did, however, arrive the next day and collected everything. I was told they couldn't say when I would be refunded and I did have to chase this up and was refunded 16 days after the items were picked up. Not a pleasant experience and I just assumed Waitrose would have pride in their items and their service. I was further dismayed when I realised that exactly the same bistro set is sold elsewhere for almost half the price, so hyper-inflated prices too. Unless Waitrose Garden gets their act together, my advice would sadly be to avoid, sorry.

Impossible to contact and speak with customer service
Leaves you feeling they don’t care and the service part is absent
Very good at taking the order and delivery
Plants hit and miss- my hydrangea was DOA.
Still is and I am waiting for a refund.

Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service. I’m utterly shocked that Waitrose, who usually have a great reputation for customer service, would treat customers like this.
I placed a large order with them which has not been delivered. Over 2 weeks later they still will not give me a refund for the lost parcels. Customer service team unhelpful and would not let me speak to a supervisor. I really wish I had read these other reviews first!

My review is about response time

My review is about response time, rather than products.
I placed an order, but got an error message at completion, so thought order had not been placed.
Repeated order. Same message.
Checking email, both orders had been processed.
Emailed customer service to cancel one order, and got reply within 24 hours to confirm that my request was being processed.
I’ve had recent experience with other retailers where I’ve had to search for how to contact, then not received a timely response ( I’m not a princess who expects immediate, but 2/3 days response time is reasonable IMO)
So I’m very happy with this experience

Yet another shocking online retailer

Yet another shocking online retailer. Took my money straightaway for a product they said was back in stock. Over a week later I still had heard nothing. Emailed to request state of play re. delivery. Got an answer - 'we aren't answering emails for up to a week '!!!
How do these companies get away with it? They could start by not taking customer's money until they have the stock they say they have, and are at point of despatch.
Disgusted with these standards from Waitrose.

I ordered a Tomato crop poly cover and a frame for it. Heard nothing for a week so I emailed as both items showed in stock. It arrived next day without the frame! So, emailed again and this went on a few times. Emails always saying it was ready for dispatch. I phoned chasing this missing item and the people I spoke to were all very polite but all in all it took about 3 weeks to get both products and was hard work! Will not use again.

I purchased a box of 6 heathers from them and I was amazed how small the plants were. I complained and was told send them back preferably recorded delivery but if any get damaged in transit they will deduct that from my refund. I assumed the plants would be of the same quality and size as heathers I had purchased in the Waitrose store. How wrong I was.

I am flabbergasted by Waitrose online…

I am flabbergasted by Waitrose online garden plants. Advertised as perennials in bloom, nothing was in bloom apart from one plant which was delivered having fully flowered and was dead. They all rotted quickly without flowering.

The customer services on phone and online repeated themselves that the plants were young and not expected to flower.

They are 3 times the cost of reliable competitors.
Unresolved... they didnt answer my email with additional information they requested. I have waited 12 days for reply.

They know the plants were to cheer up my confined mother with Alzheimer's.

A shocking waste of £300. They are rogue traders.

I am appalled

I am appalled with the whole experience. I ordered two plant pots that were circular in size: one came as it should be, the other pot came in the shape of an egg. Called the customer service on the same day that I received the products and I was told to send pictures for them to see it which I did - After waiting for five working days for the pictures to be checked as advised on the website I had no response. I contact the customer service again after those five days only to be told that the pictures needed to be seen by a supervisor - to make a decision - really? Weeks later still waiting for a response for and no email, no call - absolutely nothing. Customers stay away from Crocus/Waitrose to buy gardening products. I should have read the previous and ACCURATE reviews before all this upsetting experience.

Second rate company

Ordered some plant pots . Took for ever to arrive and when they did, they looked really cheap and nasty. Was told I would have to pay my own postage to send them back, and they would refund me the cost of my purchase.
Sent the items back and 6 weeks later, still had not been refunded. When I queried it, they said the warehouse hadn't received them, and they needed proof of postage. Fortunately for me, I had posted them through the Post Office and therefore had proof of postage. Once that had been sent, they had obviously run out of excuses so finally refunded me.
Why does Waitrose associate themselves with such a rubbish outfit?
Will never order anything else from them.

Garland large Garden Tidy sheets…

Purchased 2 large Garland Garden Tidy Sheets sheets 170 x 170 cms. (Product No. PR30008744) The strong??? webbing handles broke off the first time used; tried the second one immediately and exactly the same thing happened. This product is not fit for purpose. These were packaged in ridiculous zipped bags - pointless!

Poor quality, poorer customer care

Sansevieria zeylanica (snake plant) received with broken leaves at the base and falling leaf on the outside. Absolutely shoddy quality. 'Customer care' couldn't care less and told me to send photos, without so much as an apology.

I wish I'd read the reviews here first.

Avoid if you value quality plants and fair treatment as a customer (or, you know, good/excellent/wonderful/warm/fuzzy treatment) because you won't find that here.

Fast service

I ordered a Camelia Japonica Festival from Waitrose and was told dispatch in a week, true to their word it was...delivery was supposed to be 3 days but arrived within 1 day. Plant is very healthy looking and has loads of buds on it. Its also much bigger than I'd anticipated. Really good service, would highly reccomend. Was nervous after reading some reviews but they have obviously got back om track now. Well done.

Excellent

Excellent, after previously being let down by two other online nurseries I thought I would put my trust in Waitrose. The website is excellent, I love the fact that you know your item is in stock, you can filter on delivery lead time and best of all no part deliveries!! The plants were extremely well packaged, they hadn’t budged. Everything looked healthy and the plants are off to a flying start in my garden. I called customer services (as I was concerned about the hot weather and my plants being in transit for 3 days) the lady I spoke to was excellent, she gave me the tracking numbers and assured me the plants were hardy. The plants arrived the day after despatch. I am very happy with the website, products, delivery and customer service and have placed two more orders.
