Nice showroom with friendly staff with good knowledge of products. Ordering process was simple and easy. They kept us informed with all subcontractors regarding gas pipes to be isolated and new electrical spurs to be installed.

An excellent company with the most amazing showroom, we visited many showrooms before settling with Washington Fireplaces, can only say from the very 1st visit to the installation was amazing, a brilliant company & an asset to the North east, particular mention to the sales staff & fitting teams, they were brilliant

Perfect installation from start to finish
I can't praise them enough, the sales people handled my enquiry so well when other companies showed little interest or created complications, Curtis handled our survey where the twin wall flue wasn't easy due to access, however the installation of our cassette wood burning Stove was delivered and installed without complication, the chimney breast construction and the plastering was also carried out with professionalism and we got our log burner done in time for Christmas.
Well done to everyone that made this happen, great family business that I won't hesitate to recommend

Ten out of ten. I had a whole in the wall fire fitted by Curtis. What an efficient, professional worker. He has done an excellent job, the plaster work is second to none. I have a cream carpet, there was not a mark on it after the fitting.The rubble from the fitting was bagged up neatly and placed in my garden. Thankyou Curtis your a pro.

Great experience from top team and installer Curtis revel 600 is just the very best log gas fire and has made an amazing difference to our sitting room everything went according to plan and would highly recommend this company

Extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I received from Washington Fire Place.Despite multiple attempts via emails, telephone calls and text message to resolve a simple issue, I was met with unhelpful responses, passed to the fitter Curtis whom is subcontracted and his lack of accountability for the rubbish job he has done. Is not acceptable. I took a days holiday today for him to come repair the fault and he just didn’t turn up no text call nothing. I expected better from a company of this reputation. I took the contract and paid the money to Washington Fire Place it should be them to sort this problem not me chasing fitters who have no intention to correct their bad workmanship!!

Waited a couple of months before writing this review just to see how the work settles. We are absolutely delighted. Had an old brick and sleeper fire place taken down and a beautiful barrel log burner fitted. It's a real statement piece. Everything from the advice to the comms to the fitting was first class. I think it's important to share great work.

IKEA made cupboard despite being told it was "custom made". (Yes the hole you cut in the top you do yourself). First one scratched to bits too. They replaced it, eventually and the new one had a scratch too. We saw it in the showroom first. We were assured they would take care of the scratch. On installation it was better but still there. They also made a mess of the new carpet. He did apologise but now the company want nothing to do with the mud and claim to not be able to see it on the photos! The scratch is within "manufacturing tolerance" I was told, and should accept this. Both them and their manufacturers must have very low standards. The staff are mainly friendly but the manager Lauren was pretty rude on the phone, acting as if I was the problem, and not the scratch or the mud. Abysmal service. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Wow customer service shocking!! I am absolutely livid at the tone at which I’ve just been spoken to by the manager Lauren.

My mam in her 70s had a £2000 fire fitted by Washington Fireplaces at an additional cost to fit of £250 earlier this year. In October we noticed that all the seals were cracked so sent photos. At first a resolution seemed to be found as the manufacturer accepted it was faulty and so was providing a new fire however my mam had since completed her refurb with new carpet & chimney breast paper so was worried there may be damage, we were assured it would just be taken out & new one fitted in same place.

However today a subcontracted fitter (not their own) sent by Washington Fireplace came and said they couldn’t take it out without damage as it had been glued to the wall!!! So they left.

I spoke to Lauren on behalf of my mam to advise her of the problem.. this is where the blame shift started, she blamed the manufacturers and then said she had a problem as they only supplied the fire, I then reminded her our contract was with her. She said if the fire needs to come out it needs to come out but they won’t accept responsibility for any damage even though it was their fitters that glued it… I had asked about a repair or some compensation towards my mam getting a tradesperson it to make it look new again.. she called me back and offered £100.

A fire that cost £2250 in total goes wrong within months and she wants to give my mam £100 as goodwill for my mam to then to have spend that getting it fixed. She even said I don’t know what’s happened to it from fitting it to now??? I mean yeah my mams purposely damaged her fire???

So the moral is If you want to take the chance of things going wrong with no remedy then by all means shop here but to all my F&F stear well clear … I will be seeking advise on this or hopefully they might come to their senses before then

I had a very disappointing experience at Washington Fireplaces, Mediawalls, and Stoves. My partner and I walked around for about ten minutes, and while we where initially greeted nicely by a woman at the desk who offered assistance, everything went downhill from there.

Out of nowhere, we were abruptly told to leave the premises by a staff member simply for taking photos and looking around the displays. There were no signs indicating that photography was not allowed, and if this was a strict rule, it should’ve have been clearly communicated from the start.

To make matters worse, I felt discriminated against because I was wearing work gear, as I’ve been busy renovating my new house. It’s frustrating to be judged based on appearance, especially when I was there as a potential customer.

Overall, the service was very poor, and the attitude of the staff was appalling. I can’t recommend this place to anyone-please don’t visit. It’s a shame, as I had such high hopes for my experience.

Had a new gas fire fitted recently by Lee and Tony. Excellent work. Very tidy and cleared away all the mess. Would recommend Washington Fireplace Co. if you are looking at replacing a gas fire. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff in the showroom. This was our second gas fire in the last year purchased from them.

No issues whatsoever.

Visited the showroom 2 weeks ago and they have a massive selection of fires and media walls. It was good to actually see what i was buying instead of taking someones word for it. Very polite and helpful and the install guys were great. Thank you.

We’ve just had the Benfica Suite fitted today and we’re absolutely delighted with that. The service has been first class from start to finish. Curtis who fitted the fireplace has done an excellent job with minimal mess. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

DO NOT USE THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE - Will not return calls or e-mails if you have an issue . Very rude when you go to the showroom - seriously stay away from this lot

Had our new fireplace fitted today by Chris and Alan and we are absolutely delighted. Nothing was too much trouble and they cleared away all the mess and were two lovely helpful guys. From the showroom experience right through to the work being completed we can highly recommended this company as everything was done to a very high standard and in an excellent time frame. Very happy customers 😀 John and Sheila.

Very rude and unhelpful staff. Gave us a price for the job and took the deposit, and then tried to charge more when it was due to be fitted. Very unreliable and give false timeframes for the work to be completed. They don't care about the customer once they have taken the deposit. Stay away

Extremely satisfied with my new fire place and media wall. All the workmen were both professional and friendly with excellent craftsmanship. All done to fit around my requirements and time scale. Excellent service

Very disappointed. We were so excited about getting our fireplace done. This company had a great reviews and we loved what we saw in tge showroom. Paid our survey fee which is taken off the final bill. BUT trying to get them out to do the survey was impossible so disappointed. Now found another company in Stockton the product is to the same standard as these, but more reliable!!
