Their investing in the park and you can see it. Repainted all of the slides and improved the eating area. The staff are very friendly and there are plenty of things to do. Sure a lot of people are complaining about disorganisation with the queuing but they've got to understand that all waterparks suffer with the same problem when it's busy. This park was opened in 1989 and I've been a few times to The Wave Coventry that was opened in 2020. They have the same problem with lots of signage but a lot of people not reading it and just doing whatever causing disorganisation with the queuing.

Beware of the outrageous ripoff parking charges!
You arrive with the grandchildren after having paid a significant price online and find that you have to pay extra for parking. It charges you £3:00 - but you’re not warned that only buys you 2 hours 15 minutes. Three weeks later you get fined £60.00 because you actually spent 4 hours in the car park. You could have paid a little more upfront and avoided this but the machines don’t want you to know that. An absolute ripoff.
Very dirty and unsafe
The facilities are so dirty, you can genuinely see mould and some sort of brown residue forming on the tiles in both the floor and walls, not to mention the urine on the floor. I got a chest infection from visiting last year and it was terrible. I also think the water is horrifically cold and it is so dangerously overcrowded. Wouldn't reccomend going.
Why are people rating this a 1 star??
Why are people rating it a 1 star??
It is a perfectly fine water park and it is extremely fun. Sometimes, the water can be a bit cold but it is it pretty easy to get used to it. I don't really mind anyways because the outside pool has very warm water. The rides are so fun and the workers make sure that you're safe in every way. There was one slide where only good swimmers could go on (as it was 2m deep) and the worker was asking everyone in line if they could swim, which was very helpful. The food is not terrible. The ice cream and the pizza is perfectly fine.
Fantastic Family Day Out!
I’m so pleased I didn’t read these reviews before booking a family trip to Waterworld, our experience was the complete opposite to all these negative comments! Maybe we got lucky, maybe we are more laid back than average, maybe we read the car park instructions correctly! 🤷🏻♀️
Booked family ticket online, drove 3 1/2 hours, stayed in Hilton next door then arrived 11:30 on a Saturday.
Carpark, busy but big enough to easily find a space, plenty signs explaining parking charges but we had already read up on Waterworld website so knew what to expect! Paid £6 for up to ten hours, not great but a free or cheap carpark in that location would be taken advantage of leaving less spaces for actual customers.
Bag search, expected, polite, had a laugh with the staff, five stars!
Checked in at reception, explained first timers, was given directions and explained lockers, friendly, polite, professional, five stars!
Changing rooms, busy at one end, quiet at the other, huge space, plenty of available lockers, showers, mirrors, benches, spotlessly clean, five stars!
Wave pool, awesome! Waves come on regularly and last for five minutes or so. Depending where you are, it can be really choppy, expect a face full of water!
Not a fan? Stay near the shallow edge and still enjoy the smaller waves rolling in.
We were in the middle, it was busy but not over crowded, sometimes a small child would collide with you, then you’d both laugh and their grown ups would be looking apologetic whist try not to laugh out loud! Totally expected wave pool experience, five stars!
The slides, we tried them all! Queues varied, some had no waiting, some had five to ten minutes. Queues moved steadily, never felt cold, enjoyed chatting to other queuers and sharing experiences of which slides were our favourite!
Some slides were tame, some faster, some dark, some flashy lights, some you can wear goggles, some you can’t, a few will strip you of all dignity in the big splash at the bottom, but you don’t care because it’s such a laugh, just pull your swimwear back out your crack and carry on! All slides, in particular, The Nucleus, five stars!
Life guards, vigilant, friendly, engaging with visitors and plentiful! At least one, often more, at the top of every slide, and the bottom as well as dotted around the pool areas. I still made sure I was with or watching my 13 and 10 year old at all times but very reassured by the Life Guard team! Five stars!
The Rapids, like a human whirlpool! Absolute hoot! Expect to go flying, expect to bump into random strangers, expect to laugh out loud! Hilarious, five stars!
Bubble pools - didn’t try but, as the name suggests, it’s not a jacuzzi or hot tub just a nice place to chill out for a bit! They weren’t over crowded but we weren’t there to relax!
Outdoor pool, on a sunny 28* day the outdoor pool was great. Plenty of available sun loungers, shaded seating areas and the obligatory friendly yet vigilant life guards!
Expect an outdoor pool that is in England, not The Canary Islands and you won’t be disappointed, five stars!
Restaurant area! Plenty of options at prices you’d expect, it’s not cheap but not too extortionate, decent portion sizes and above expected quality! Adult cheese burger, fries and drink was £14 (I think) hot, fresh, tastey, decent size! Not the best burger of my life but did the job!
Queue to order food was slow! Undecided if that was a staffing, logistics or customers with a million questions and customisations problem. Food collection was super quick! Staff were polite, helpful and efficient!
Lots of people sat at tables without food and drinks, maybe waiting for someone else in the queue but still managed to find and table for four inside with plenty available seats outside. Wasn’t expecting a Michelin star experience therefore, five stars!
Cleanliness, like, genuinely spotless! Didn’t see any plasters, mould, clumps of hair, hair bobbles, false eyelashes or god forbid, a code brown situation! Every area was impressively clean! Above expectations!
I DID sit in a blob of ketchup on seat in restaurant area, maybe it was a previous customer, maybe it was my kids, they certainly found it funny therefore, five stars!
Only personal negative was the echoing noise levels you experience at places like this. It was a bit overwhelming for little one’s sensory ears, we will bring ear defenders next time (ear plugs won’t be tolerated).
Our whole family enjoyed every moment!
If you love water parks, like us, then we highly recommend Waterworld!
Not safe, too crowded.
Overcrowded and unsafe and there didn’t seem to be enough staff to monitor the number of people in there. It was ridiculous, reckless and dangerous. Just sheer greed taking peoples money and not effectively managing the number of people.
Far too crowded to enjoy.
Don’t get me wrong it was a lot of fun, but there are so many people in there it’s actually unsafe.
Tried to get the attention of the life guard several times but as it was so crowded they missed us, not the life guards fault at all they were so busy.
I wouldn’t recommend taking small children it would be too much.
Great fun
Great fun. My friends and I took our kids for a day out here and everyone loved it. Will visit again
Over priced
Over priced, understaffed, cueing for everything takes way too long. It's run down and needs updating. They are a health & safety risk in my opinion.
The 1 star reviews are definitely not justified!
I feel compelled to write a review after seeing just how many 1 star reviews there are on here!
Me and my nearly 2 year old son had the best time at Water World today! He was laughing constantly from the second we got there and then screamed the place down when I told him it was time to leave because he was so desperate to stay.
We came on a Thursday and arrived at 10am and we didn’t queue for anything at all for the first hour or so. Then a few more people arrived and we did need to queue a little bit but not for more than 5mins at a time. Of course if you’re coming at a weekend or in school holidays you’re going to have to queue (I can’t believe the people writing the other reviews were shocked by this).
The lifeguards seemed to be pretty on it really. Edwin was amazing with my Son when we were queuing for the flumes, he made him feel like the bravest guy ever going on the big boy slides.
I also can’t complain about the cleanliness. The changing rooms were spotless when we arrived and I saw a member of staff mopping the floor as we were leaving so they obviously do their best to keep on top of it.
All in all, a great day out for me and my super brave, slide loving little man.
Not good for the disabled
Absolutely disgusted that this place does not offer free carer ticket. This needs to change...most places these days offer a free carer ticket especially if the disabled person cannot attend on their own without a carer. I was going to take my son over the half term, but they will not be getting a penny from me.
Absolutely shocked by how poorly…
Absolutely shocked by how poorly Waterworld handled our recent visit. Despite paying for parking, we were issued a ticket for overstaying by just 30 minutes. It was a bank holiday, the place was overcrowded, and it took ages to get back to the lockers and then out to the car due to the huge queues. We explained the situation, but the company flat-out refused to help or show any understanding. Easily the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Definitely won’t be returning, and I’d advise others to think twice before going – especially on a busy day.
AVOID like the plague
AVOID like the plague
Worst experience ever !!!
Spent in excess of £170 to be greeted with dirt and grime freezing water and 30/40 minutes wait times for slides or rings
Searched on the way in by security for food or drink to be well over charged when inside safe to say I left pretty soon after arriving.
Changing rooms weren’t fit for animal use let alone human use. Used sanitary towels left everywhere clearly never cleaned throughout the day or even at all come home and had an another shower immediately as it was that grimey.
Notified staff about the changing areas and weren’t intrested at all also asked them about the water temperature as we assumed something had broken to be told this is how it always is….
Don’t waste you’re money or you’re time attending here will be greatly disappointed.
Sad to say I won’t be returning even if it was free admission…
Wasn't his job to stop my kid from drowning
We decided to visit on a Sunday afternoon hoping it wasn't too busy. It was rammed. The pool was so busy people were tripping over each other, which meant we kept out of the pool and, mainly did the slides, fairly long waits but that was to be expected.
The place started to empty out at about 4pm. At around 5 we had planned to leave but the wave machine then started, as we hadn't been in the waves as it was so busy my son wanted to before left, he's 11 and a pretty confident swimmer but I still went with him, and thank God I did! He was a few meters a head but not out of what I would call a normal safe range for us. However he got caught in a wave and was drifting closer to the wall where the machine was and kept going under water, I was shouting at him to come closer to me, and the life guard was whistling at him, I had my 8 year old with me too so I had to leave her to try and help him, thankfully a group of men who were closer to him grabbed in and brought him closer to me, he was upset, distressed and very panicked. What I don't understand is that if the life guard could see a child in distress, as well as myself and 3 strangers trying to help why didn't the machine get switched off? I did actually ask this but was told it wasn't his job to. I also had to find another life guard to give him first aid as he felt sick and dizzy due to swallowing water, I then had to wait for the duty manager, who spoke to me like I was a toddler at nursery instead of a scared parent who just watched her child almost drown and needed some support and compassion. The incompetence of the life guards in this situation was shocking, the lack of care and reassurance from the management was appalling. I have also emailed my concerns and the incident and have received no reply. as dramatic as it may sound my child could have died. If I had let him go in the pool alone or those men weren't there he would have drowned because it wasn't someone's job to switch the wave machine off. Do better! The idea of this place is amazing but the health and safety aspects are shocking. The amount of kids with bumped heads and nose bleeds were concerning.

Great facility but far too many people aloud in at once.
The day was pleasant until we had to change at the end.
My daughter was very distressed due to the facility being too narrow and a lack of changing facilities.
The lockers are too small for families and the locks are very temperamental with two people locked out by our changing facilities, which again crowded the changing area.
The food was ok, but again we had a 30 minute wait with people also using all tables with towels on seats but no one using them!!!
AVOID!
AVOID!! Will never go back!
£60 parking fine for being mislead at the machine! Waterworld didn t have the decency to assist!

Feel free to adjust it

Genuinely awful, probably the dirtiest and most run down waterpark in Europe. Super expensive and very over crowded

We paid for vouchers via kids pass in which you pay £20 per persons instead of £24 on the door. You cannot use these online so when I called to query as going the same day was advised that you have to wait 24 hours to redeem? We took the chance and no problem with entry! It was exceptionally busy, ques approx 20 mins. The water had a layer of greasy film on the top and the staircases were all rusted. Changing rooms were pretty grimy was glad to have a shower. Overall wouldn’t rush to go back
