Very reliable with top-notch support

We host 10+ websites with WHB on their old shared plans as well as new ones. We haven't had a single glitch or performance issue for a very long time. However, all our websites are very well maintained, we employ an in-house developer. We are very happy with their support too!

Forever unreliable

My sites routinely go offline. When I go to upload new data, it seems that my FTP access is removed. They never explain what happened. I feel they don't want me as a customer since I am locked in a guaranteed price and they don't make enough money from me.
Another time, all of my MySQL user accounts were deleted, so my websites were returning errors to users. Since I don't check my sites routinely, I don't know how long it was out of service.
My entire content was deleted and no backup was available to restore it so I had to rebuild everything from a backup I had on my computer.
I am leaving WHB at the end of my prepaid period. Go with another company, pay a little more for reliability. Read reviews so you don't get another company just as bad.

Improved This Year

I've been on their shared hosting plan since the early 2000's, and for a 13-year-old kid who was just doing web design for a hobby, they were absolutely fantastic. They would get back to me promptly and help me resolve issues, explained things step by step, and I felt really comfortable communicating with them. I still do to this day. If anything, their customer service has been consistently top-notch since then, which I'm grateful for.

2016 was not a good year at all--lots of downtime, slow speed, and other issues. I'm not a high priority or high traffic customer, so it was especially difficult to get anything done, despite doing all this as a hobby (I spend maybe a few times a week working on my site). They did another migration in early 2017, and it's made so much of a difference! I haven't had any downtime, pages load fine, and everything feels like it runs smoothly.

The most appealing part is their price packaging, which is what kept me with them for years. I can't speak for businesses, but if you're looking to host a personal site or portfolio on shared hosting, I'd probably go with these guys.

Extremely good, recommended

I've been with WebHostingBuzz for almost a year, and I have not regretted my choice since.
Their reliability and speed are extremely good - the site is up every time I check it, almost daily; their Client Area is easy to navigate and they give you cPanel to manage your website; they don't do that "Unlimited" crap - every package has a definite amount of Disk-Space and bandwidth, with a clear list of features.
Definitely recommend this host.

I have had an account for over 12 yrs …

I have had an account for over 12 yrs and this year WHB became pathetic. I have not been able to access my website this entire year & after numerous support attempts, I get 1 response and never hear back. I even sent 2 messages to the CEO and never received a reply. WHB has yet to address my issue and now have the audacity to send me an invoice and once again ignore my response and send an invoice reminder. I don't know what happened to them but they are now horrible. My sister had similar problems & WHB NEVER bothered to respond to her either.

Horrible Service!

After 12 years with them, I am jumping ship! The past several years the service has been horrible and it is just getting worse. I have a reseller account and the servers are down what seems like half of the time. When they aren't down, sites take FOREVER to load. When you submit a support ticket, the typical response time is over 12 hours and recently over 24 hours! You can no longer reach anyone on the phone and prior support tickets keep getting deleted.

Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to host your sites.

A customer of 10 years; the last year the entire company has fallen to bits.

A customer of 10 years. In the last year of so the entire company has fallen to bits, Terrible customer service, Extremely poor performance, Constant downtime, im not exaggerating when I say I have been getting 5-50 crashes and time-outs every single day. I moved my websites to SiteGround earlier in the week and have had no issues.
For a customer of 10 years I have been treated terribly by support staff. You submit a ticket, and you get a reply from someone that hasnt read the ticket and has no idea what they are talking about, you explain it again and then someone else replies to the ticket on a completely different subject entirely, always in broken English, Repeat yourself 10 times in the same ticket thread as each time you get a new person answer the replys and they start from scratch and don't read any of the exiting tickets. Tickets were all about downtime, bad performance. I was moved servers on multiple occasions that took 24+ hours to do and was never informed! I was at a point where I was having to send multiple tickets a day to keep my website up as their servers are so unstable. Looking back over the hundreads of tickets I made over 2015/16 they were mostly all about the servers I was put on going down, and I was moved a lot! I was only hosting 1 simple wordpress website.
WHB fell to bits in the last year or two. Avoid like the plague.

Up time not acceptable, support low to react.

I have been one of their customer since 2005. The service was very ok up to this year. The up-time became under the acceptable, the support becomes slow to react to situations. They migrated without any advice to a new version of php and mysql. After have been blocked in my activities many days, many times during the last 2 months, I decided to move to another hoster.

Uptime is not even close to 50% and forget support

For years I had a small account on this service. Never really did much with it. Now that I am trying to use the account on a daily basis the short comings are more than apparent. Site can't remain on line and reachable which means the email can't be forwarded via MX records reliably. Support used to have chat but that hasn't worked in months. I think they all went on holidays since I got responses to my many emails about a month late and all at once. If I can ever get into my account I'll shut it down and host elsewhere. Run away, run away.

Fraudulent charges, no customer support

I have been trying to get assistance from customer support for a year now. I want to cancel my service but they will not cancel it or answer me. They keep billing me every year for a service I'm not using. I had signed up for automatic bill pay and they just keep taking my money but do not respond when I ask for assistance to stop payments and cancel my service. I'm absolutely furious. When I try to call the so-called 24 hour number, it always says "call failed." If I try to get on the 24 hour chat, the page says it's not working. If I submit a ticket, it never gets answered, then it disappears. Emails I send go unanswered. I left a bad rating several months ago and that got a reply quickly, but after I explained the problem, I was then ignored and no one helped me or got back to me. I don't know what else to do. I am contacting my bank about fraudulent charges.

Horrible for last 3-4 months

Everything was fine till mid of 2016. But after that Emails blacklisted, DNS down very ofter 1 or 2 times in a week, 24/7 live support offiline for weeks, Technical support respond after10-12 hrs, No one answers the phone call!! Response will be always like "We are working on it and will be okay soon" or "De-list request sent, mail will be alright in 24/48 hrs" !!. What do they expect, we keep our offices closed for 24-48 hrs, and that too 3-4 times in a month??

Unreliable and worst service provider we have used.

We have used for more than 3years. At first, this is a good company. This year, our hosting has been stopped 4 times with different reason more than 2 weeks. The technicians lack of internet knowledge and no support from the company. They just always ask you to wait and you need to wait days to resume your service. If you dont want to waste your time and lose your data, you should not use this company. We change the service already and so good to us.

I've had a great experience with WHB

I've been a customer since the beginning with several shared accounts and a few semi-dedicated accounts. The pricing and support has been awesome for years. I read the other reviews and understand the frustration with the server migration but I've had a much better experience with basically no down-time and a couple mistakes from my end. I also have the benefit of comparing WHB to a couple different hosting companies my work has used over the past couple years. They're WAY more expensive and the support is basically non-existent. I plan on staying with WHB and have suggested to others to try them out.

After years of decent service its all gone down hill fast.

I started with WHB over 10 years ago when they will still a small and they provided cheap and reliable hosting.

Since mid 2016 things have gone very much down hill as I was migrated to their "new super fast server fleet" and put on Server104 which spent every other weekend having some form of fit which their "Senior Technicians were either dealing with or monitoring" but never quite fixing.

After 6 weeks of this I asked to be put on a more reliable server, which in all credit to them they did with decent speed, however they failed to check that:

1. All the add-on domains had their DNS updated so we lost some time there
2. All the web sites worked (lost a day there and a few customers) whilst their "L2 technicians looked into the issue" for a good deal of time without much communication.

I mean come on who migrates a bunch of websites and does not check they are working before thinking they are done? I spent years in IT and never did a thing without a roll back plan.

So here we are, I am desperately unhappy but have paid up until 2017 where I will most defiantly be moving elsewhere.

Connection speed is unreliable (DNS catastrophic failure for 4 days)

After a catastrohpic failure with their DNS servers which impacted my business for 4 straight days without service, they now moved me to another server after I tried to use my available space and was denied because the machine had no free space, even though I paid it.

Then after the migration to a different server, things started getting out of hand. I've been exchanging emails with support for over a week in order to solve slow download/upload speeds, which average around 70Kbps, yes 9KB/s.

They were great for the 6 year we've worked, but something happened to them this year which has blow the whole thing down.

As a company, they are quickly dying.
