10/10 Service

I had a great experience buying from Welsh Coast Campers. All of my questions were answered fully which put me at ease when making my purchase.
Everyone we dealt with was helpful and very responsive with communications.

I am more than happy to recommend this company to anyone.

Paul was excellent from start to finish. The conversion is far superior to anything that I had seen elsewhere. Great after sales from the team also who helped and answered a few queries that I had.

Check everything properly before paying

Bought a VW camper from WelshCoastCampers at a reasonable price in February and was initially happy with the van.

After using it for a month or so, a few issues came to light.

The expensive diesel heater turned out to be a cheap, Chinese heater and didn't work.
The cab heater controls didn't work.
The fitted Reimo rail was hanging off at the back and the front gutter tail wasn't attached properly.

Numerous emails to Paul to get these issues sorted out were ignored.

It seems that once you've made the final payment, you're on your own.

Great van, but aftersales is non-existent.

Use them carefully and check everything thoroughly before making the final paymant.

We are 2 years in and still love our Camper, I have read all the reviews and before purchasing done my research...Paul was great from start to finish and our camper just amazing and a quality finish. If I had any questions or concerns I would have no hesitation to call him and I know he would be there. We use it every weekend and wish we purchased years ago. You need to speak as you find and it was a faultless experience and I would return.

DO NOT BUY FROM WELSH COAST CAMPERS!!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM WELSH COAST CAMPERS!!!!

Had to put 1* or review wouldn’t be put on.
Wouldn’t have given any.
Welsh Coast Campers website looked reasonable,
Paul was helpful on phone so we travelled from Yorkshire to purchase a T6 converted van earlier this year.
Spent ages in Paul’s office listening to his ‘blarney’ about his personal life. Little did we know but this was just part of him drawing my partner and I in to a false sense of security. As part of purchasing the van, Paul offered us a free item, we chose to have an inflatable awning, he said they are worth £700 plus. We did not receive this, so he reluctantly reimbursed us after 5 months and countless emails.
He also talked us into purchasing a diesel heater and said it would be better to put it in as the van is getting converted because it is easier to fit. So we paid £1000 for this..
We signed the form, arranged to collect van after its conversion 3 weeks later, we had to wait longer as contact suddenly became a lot slower from them. Paul’s excuse for the delay was that his paint sprayer wasn’t working so van wasn’t ready.
Van looked good on collection, but noticed shabby flaw around unit area and not the wheels we ordered, totally different to what we chose. Paul told us the wheels that we chose would take 14 weeks to get there, (why didn’t he tell us this before we set off from Yorkshire)?!
October same year, one of our customers was hiring our van out (we run a Campervan hire business), they had to book a hotel on last night as heater did not work.
We checked on return, worked ok but then started blowing cold air.
Our next customer, we had to provide a portable heater for them as the heater was not working as it should.
We took the van to a specialist near us and he said the van had been fitted with a cheap heater from China, it was unbranded and not tested, and cost £84 from Amazon.
Paul had overcharged us £1000!!.
Paul also did not provide receipts for this heater.
We now have to pay another £1000 for a decent heater to be installed.
This untested heater Paul had provided could have been dangerous especially to our customers as we rent the van out as a business.
Welsh Coast Campers needs to be investigated asap, as we have been conned out of money and lied to.
We are now in the progress of contact with Trading Standards just like some of Paul’s previous customers.

Bought a VW camper converted by WCC and…

Bought a VW camper converted by WCC and the build itself was good. Customer experience up to the point the van was purchased was excellent, and for a couple of days after (when the diesel heater didn't want to start) was good.

Only a couple of niggles...no cap for the lighter socket, the air recirculation switch doesn't work, but I didn't bother to chase those up after a lack of response to other issues.

Then radio silence for weeks. This was after I asked about the suspension which was bone-shaking and whether I could change the 20" wheels to something a little softer (Paul said there was a choice of wheels, so I just asked the question). No reply, so I asked if they did any aftermarket suspension which I was happy to pay for...nothing. In the end I paid £1500 to CRS Performance in Cannock to install new suspension and it drove like a new van - transformed. It appears the suspension was lowered using shorter springs but they hadn't modified the shocks, so it bounced all over the place.

I also emailed several times asking about access to the towing eye because the aftermarket front spoiler didn't have any clear access and I didn't want to damage it by attempting to remove the spoiler in the wrong way.

In the end I got fed up and said I'd be leaving a TrustPilot review and voila! Got an email:

Dear Lee,

I’m very sorry you don’t seem to have had a reply all after sales enquiries are dealt by Simon he can be reached on the main office number option 2 or alternatively can be emailed (email redacted for review)

However should you have any questions in the meantime please contact myself directly.

Kind regards,
Paul
____________
Well, I emailed the aftersales department and nothing...nothing at all, so I then emailed Paul and said I'd be leaving the review in a couple of days and once again, got an instant response.

Shocking customer service. I notice their Facebook page doesn't allow reviews, neither does their site which is surprising.

All this hassle could have been avoided by someone just replying. If you're considering buying from them, know you'll probably get a good van, but don't expect any post sales help.
