Fraudsters sent me debt collection…

Fraudsters sent me debt collection letter on behalf of an unknown PayPal account.
Then the guy at the Wescot customer service was digging into more personal details like my past addresses etc when I called them regarding this.
Reported this to PayPal instead.

Couldn’t change their mind let alone an address

Backwards.

Have harassed me with letters for someone not known at my address, when corrected they refused to change they’re system because the credit file agencies who were also corrected said this person had a link to my address, despite being given the persons address, phone number and email address, they continued to send letters requesting debts be repaid to my home, they refused my complaint citing they were a member of a financial body and very la de da, yet their claim was false because credit file agencies had been informed 2 years prior that the link between this person and the person living with me were no longer. I’m amazed they haven’t gone bust when they’re given the correct whereabouts of someone and still badger the wrong people, too busy writing letters to the wrong address. I hope they go bankrupt for the hassle they have caused me

Pleas ignore these morons

Who the hell are these people . I was going to say worse but I wasnt allowed. Keep sending letters about a PayPal debt which isn't mine and verified by PayPal. By the way they won't come to your house which one of their operators said to me, one of the times when I called them and got rather cross. They are a bunch of shallow, gutless morons..they don't have the guts to come to your house so everyone please ignore them.

Terrible company

I've always tried to maintain a professional attitude to companies like this who buy debt for peanuts then normally try to help customers pay something off it however last month my wife gave our income and outgoings to a call centre operative and came to a new agreement but last week we received an email asking very very personal questions about borrowing money off family members and whether we could make that a regular thing, asking about my health and details about my lifestyle.
It stinks of strong arm tactics and with the amount of people that are struggling during the current cost of living crisis I'm guessing the new owners want their investment back.

PAYPAL SCAM IN SOMEONE ELSES NAME

I recieved a letter in someone else's name (sara eden) but to my address. Claiming they are acting on behalf of PayPal chasing a balance of £24. I've read the reviews on here and other people have rexieved exactly the same letter. This is very clear this is a scam. There is a company called Wescott but this one is spelt Wescot. BEWARE AND DO NOT PAY.

I owed Westcott just over £500 and the past 2 months given them £100 each month which is more than they probably receive from other people. Ran into financial problems this month and being hounded by them through voicemails. I suffer from Mental Health Problems as it is and have a failed £12k IVA to deal with as well. Westcott are making my life a nightmare!! I will change my phone number for sure

You are ruining my life for more than a year now. No wonder why I will probably never have credit ever again nor have a stable income. Be taking money off my account when i have no money, pushing into unplanned overdraft from my bank which increases my bank fees and more and more into debt.

More help and understanding than I expected

Was trying to sort out a relatives overdraft they had built up and ignored through mental health. After some understandable legal delays, they were more than helpful and understanding, giving advise on charities we could contact. They agreed to stop any mail coming, except for quarterly updates on account status.
They accepted a minimal payment untill health was better and we agreed on 6 monthly reviews.
A load of stress off the mind of my relative, allowing them a greater chance of recovering.

Thank you

I’d give them less than one star if I could.

I’m in an IVA (which their “client”) agreed too, and yet - still harrassing for payment, calls, emails, texts and letters!

No end of stress caused to me, and they just are relentless. It’s very clear they don’t care if you have an IVA or the like, the will still hunt you down and ignore the fact that the IVA is LEGALLY BINDING. And their actions are illegal.

DO NOT PAY THESE SHARKS!

DO NOT PAY THESE SHARKS!! Just received a threatening letter from them regarding some unpaid bank charges from 2010!!!!! They claim in their letter that they are acting "on behalf of their client, HSBC", which is a complete lie. Wescots have been bought by Cabot Financial, another bunch of heartless a*holes who prey on vulnerable people to pay money to them that they probably don't even owe. They buy debts, simple. They have no way of proving that you owe any money so don't pay them a penny. If they keep threatening, then ask them to provide you with a proof of debt (ie, credit agreement) and 100%, they won't be able to because they don't have them. Therefore, debt (if there is any) is unenforceable and they can do jack s**t about it. Furthermore, they have just obtained my address (that I've only lived at for a month) from DVLA, so they buy your information (and DVLA sell your information) and then harass you. PLEASE DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE AS THEY CAN PROVE NOTHING. Check out any website re statute barred debt and/or ask them for proof of debt. there are plenty of template letters out there. As for all these positive reviews, well, I can only assume that they have written these themselves because who, in their right mind, would take the time to write a positive review about a debt collector? They are lower than Titanic, buy debts for peanuts and then threaten people when they least need to be hassled for money. Scum. That's what they are and I don't know how anyone can work for them

I WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE THEM A ONE STAR…

I WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE THEM A ONE STAR BUT DIDN'T GIVE ME THE OPTION. I'M NOT A CUSTOMER BUT USED TO WORK FOR THEM. PLACE IS TOXIC WITH A HIGH TONEOVER OF STAFF. I SUFFER FROM MENTAL HEALTH BUT THEY PUSHED ME OVER THE EDGE. STILL HAVE NIGHTMARES. ONLY A NUMBER AND IF YOU FAIL A CALL AUTOMATICALLY PLACED ON A PERFORMANCE PLAN. MANAGERS DON'T CARE. MY TEAM LISTENED TO A CALL I FAILED EVEN THOUGH AN EXPERIENCED CALL HANDLER SAT BESIDE ME ONLY TO FEEL NO SELF WORTH. IF YOU ARE DUE TO START AT 8.00AM FORGET BEING THERE FOR THAT TIME AS YOU NEED TO LOAD VARIOUS SCREENS WHICH CAN TAKE UP TO TEN MINUTES BEFOREHAND. ALSO IF YOUR SHIFT FINISHES AT 8.00PM AND TAKE A CALL AT 7.59PM IT MAY LAST FOR UP TO ANOTHER HOUR. NO WORK LIFE BALANCE AND CONSTANTLY SCRUTINISED FOR TOILET AND LUNCH BREAKS. FEEL SORRY FOR CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM AND WORK WITH THEM!!! I DIDN'T HAVE THE OPTION TO DATE OF EXPERIENCE BUT THIS HAPPENED IN 2019. THIS HAS TAKEN THIS TIME FOR ME TO DO THIS AS I AM EXTREMELY UPSET.

I've been paying debt with these for awhile now. Not had any issues. They send me a letter every April offering me a one of payment. But I'd rather just keep paying what I am. To clear it off. They seem friendly on phone. When calling.

Dreadful company, in particular the Saltcoats branch.

This is a message for anyone and…

This is a message for anyone and everyone out there about how to deal with wescot and the likes of them.

Remember this country is run on consent so don’t own up to anything until they prove there claim against you is lawful(99% of the time it’s not)which they will not be able to do.

Right to start with no-one is under any legal obligation to deal with wescot they have absolutely no jurisdiction over anybody.a lolly pop man has about as much power as this lot.
because they are a 3rd party which whom(you) do not have a contract with you need to ask them for details of where they got your details from.file a complaint to the financial omnibudmen and tell them your gpdr has been breached!data protection in easier terms.
deal with them via e mail.keep copies and send the message also to a verified inbox to say the e mail has been delivered and opened.
go onto company house and find out ceos names and then address them by their full names asking for proof of claim.
Wescot can’t be held accountable for harassment or malicious communications but real living names can,so always address them in writing with there full names then this way they can and will all be held accountable for harassment, malicious communication data protection breaches without any proof of claim.

Ask them to provide you with proof of claim(so that being the original debt to the original debtor contract)ask them that you want to see deed of assignment.the debtor will sign the debt over to the buyer wescot if they can provide one which they will not be able too 110%.
they buy you’re personal information tricking you into thinking you owe money when actually when that debt was taken on by the likes of wescot it was actually wiped clean and paid out via an insurance policies
.hence why you all get a dip in your credit rating shortly after.
When a debt is passed on that debt is wiped clean and the money owed to that company is paid back via insurance policies.your be paying that debt twice if you contract with these vermin.that’s how these companies thrive.tricking and scamming people!
these companies then breach data protection gdpr buy purchasing your personal information for money which in itself is an unlawful act and is harassment and malicious communications sending letters that makes one(you) feel anxious or threatened in anyway.

Don’t contract with them ask for proof of claim and deed of assignment.they will claim like they all do that you yourself need to go into court to get one but as soon as you do that you’ve contracted with that company.
Get educated people because they are literally like rats feeding off alive bodies.

DO NOT TRUST WESCOT!

Back in 2012 I got into debt, but I got it written off with a Debt Relief Order.
On March 7th this year I got a"payslip"letter from Wescot, and after that I got another letter saying I owed nearly £3000.I knew it had been covered by the DRO so I got in touch with a local money advice charity,I also contacted the Insolvency Service and they kindly sent me details of the date and ref number of the DRO.
I passed these to the advice charity, who wrote to Wescot.Surprise surprise,Wescot have now withdrawn the client account for the alleged debt, and the balance is now zero.
So,my advice to anyone who gets letters etc from Wescot would be to contact a money advice charity..NOT one of the firms that will charge you for advice.
The one I used is part of Community Money Advice and have branches in various parts of the country if you search their website.
WESCOT ARE SCAMMERS,DON'T BE AFRAID OF THEM!
