Rob fromExcellent work from Rob during a stressful water leak Westone Housing has been…

Rob from Westone Housing has been brilliant from start to finish.

We had a water leak under the floor on Thursday 15 January 2026. With a 4-week-old baby at home, the insurance company treated it as an emergency and appointed a project manager. After the leak was detected and stopped, Rob from Westone Housing came in to strip out everything affected, including damaged flooring, sections of wall, and carpets in two other rooms. It was a big job and he worked incredibly hard, spending almost a week getting it all done properly.

We’ve had seven dehumidifiers running 24/7 for nearly four weeks, so it’s been a very disruptive time in the house. Rob was extremely considerate, keeping noise to a minimum as much as possible because of our newborn. He was also very tidy, clearing up dust and mess at the end of each day and keeping the work areas as clean and safe as he could.

Rob is always polite, professional, and hardworking, and he genuinely cares about doing a good job. I’m very impressed with him, and Westone Housing are lucky to have him. 5 stars without any doubt.

No commitment no communication only shambles.

Westone was appointed by my insurance assessor from Woodgate and Clark. The work was constantly delayed partly by the loss of 4 project managers whose management skill was based on what trade was available rather than having an actual plan. This resulted in 8 trades turning up when there was only work for 2 people. Each change of project manager resulted in a delay of several weeks when no work was done. The work is very poor and my house no longer has a level floor in any room they touched. The painting was done on raw MDF with no sanding so the result is very rough. The tiling left grout all over the tiles. The standard of workmanship is more like "that will do" rather than get it right. Finally when we get a snag list for them to fix, they loose the report and tell me to contact the insurance company.

Would not have them back in my house if…

Would not have them back in my house if it had been my choice , they were instucted by my insurance following flooding.
Constantly trying to cut corners , tried to replace my solid wood stairs with mdf being one of the more notable instances.
From the outset, I observed indications of smoking within the premises, along with general carelessness, including discarded drink bottles sandwich packets etc both inside the house and in the garden. the work was not completed within the agreed-upon timeline. When the kitchen installer arrived, they were unable to proceed with the installation due to the house not being ready, despite the installation date having already been postponed.
It took three weeks to paint the front door!

Had a really bad dodgy guy called Dean Tyler wanted to do deals on the side to get prices down, I’ve later done my digging into him goes by the name of Dingo aka doggy dingo more like. Not a pleasant guy hang around with drug deals in Peterborough and a cocaine addict eldegly reported by his son’s mother. Why would a big company sub low life scumbags?

Glyn and Greg at Taurus Property…

Glyn and Greg at Taurus Property Solutions were exceptional from the beginning of the restoration work to the end. The standard of work was very high and the communication of timescale and start / finish times was excellent and at the end of each day the rooms were left clean and tidy.
The whole process was a very positive one and would certainly use again and recommend their services to everyone.

I wish I could have used zero stars.

I wish I could have used zero stars.
We had a large house fire, luckily most of it was external damage. after sainsburys bank/Crawford loss adjusters messed about for 6 months westone were employed..
They subcontracted the work and tried to knick 75% of the money (so I am told and I can believe) aloud by the insurance company.
Day one started badly with my first conversation with the subcontractor saying there wasn’t enough money in the pot.. they agreed to start outside work first and once water tight they would start inside.. this made sense! As we returned home day one 3 chaps that didn’t speak any English were ripping out our new kitchen and all our possessions were thrown in a corner..then they decided to work weekends only as there wasn’t enough money, the quality of work was shocking..at this point it was mid winter and the house was wide open freezing cold and a temporary kitchen pod on the front garden.. not ideal..
The comedy continues to this day (nearly one year on) most of the work has now been done twice as you will not be able to imagine the bodge up first time around inc all the badly burned roof timbers in the kitchen roof had just been boarded over.. now we are approaching one year for the reinstatement of our house this should have taken 16 weeks there was plenty of money available from the insurance company to complete this..the whole experience with westone has been a nightmare trying to cut every corner save every penny and disappearing for weeks at a time leaving rubbish/cigarette buts (the cause of the fire in the first place!) every where all phone calls and emails are ignored..I wish I could add pictures as seeing is believing..
This company is full of empty promises and lies, poor quality work, subcontractors complaining about not being paid, even with before pictures they can not reinstate what we had before..
Avoid at all costs..the saga goes on now with westone and the loss adjuster just passing the buck..

Dreadful company use at your peril

Dreadful company. Our insurer used them due to subsidence with our property. Numerous issues with them, for starters they just farm the work out to subcontractors
We were lied to about paint choices, our house was painted in silk but they said we had to use Matt paint, only told us this verbally and then denied having told us that when we complained.
Claimed to have used "good quality paint" in the kitchen and bathroom. This paint rubs off under light pressure with tissue paper. Amazingly enough that paint had disappeared when I went to look for it to do a touch up. All the other paint was there but the contractor took it home as it was a big tub.
Their subcontractors also left rubbish outside the property including cigarette ends not good when you have young children but again they denied it.

Out experience with Westone has been terrible

Out experience with Westone has been terrible. Our engagement with them was as part of an insurance claim where they were supposed to repair the kitchen and bathroom. Not only did they do a terrible job, with the kitchen and bathroom floor having been installed completely skewed, but they were also very irregular sometimes not showing up at all for more than a week, often without any feedback regarding when they would be coming back.

Insurance Repair Work

Westone was commissioned by the loss adjusters to repair my subsided building. It all start off quite well but now that we are in the last throws of completion. The last month has been dismal and most stressful. The Lack of communication from management and performance let them down and organisational skills lacking. I would not recommend this company to any one.
