Travelling overseas don’t tell Westpac

Travelling overseas don’t tell Westpac. I did this and it’s cost my a small fortune in phone calls. So far I’ve spent $150 US trying to get access to my own money, we even got an apology email, then they did it again the next day. I had a trolley full of groceries and had to walk away. This after spending 1 hour on hold & having to top up phone card, the day before “your call is important to us you are 15 in the que”. Why bother telling them ...your card was used in Ecuador...no sh.. that’s were I told you I was going. Funny needing money on holidays who would have thought. And guess what! you cannot email or what’s app you need to call, so modern.

Absolute amatuer bank

Absolute amatuer bank. Unprofessional, incompetant, no customer service.
Applying for a loan with enough assests to cover in n hour, going forbthe smallest amount taken me 5 days and still not approved. Everytime it gets to approval apparently i need more documentation ?
5 days for something that is supposed to be done in 60mins to 24 hours ? Spend 4 days speakinflg ro loan "speacialists" to be told we dont know the name of the document you need......but you need this document to approve the loan........WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A BANK, go somewhere else please not to this bank as westpac will just make you as unhappy and angry as possible while claiming "we're here to help you "

Leaving Westpac after 35 years after…

Leaving Westpac after 35 years after they told us we could invest the proceeds of our house sale as security for other loans, and then close to settlement back-tracked, saying it was not in their policy to secure loans with a term investment. Therefore, forcing us to repay and refinance under pressure with time demands. According to other Banks what better security is there than Cash! We have been loyal to this Bank forever and are now moving more than $1 million worth of business to the BNZ. The worst thing is that they just don't care. If you are thinking of going with Westpac DON'T!

Poor knowledge and Service from Westpac Loans Call center.

I have never had a good or at least a satisfactory experience with the Personal loan call center staff. Many inquiries I have experienced and found the staff incompetent and poor customer service. You would expect the staff would know what their own processes are, rather than you telling them what to do. Very tiring exercise each time I call due to lack of knowledge and incompetency. You could get either overcharged or not offered a service which they could have provided over the phone!

North shore takapuna branch

North shore takapuna branch, female with long streaked hair, pampered nails, who has an attitude, no customer service, does not value customers basically giving off the vibe what you want, here you go and hurry get out, got her to process some documents and found out she did it wrong, had her again the 2Nd time and she seems so reluctant to help me with depositing cash as if it was a hassle, we will be moving banks were a big customer and no need for this low standard of service

Won't talk directly with customers

Won't talk directly with customers. It took 45 minutes for them to get back to my wife when I was stuck in London with no money and a debit card that wouldn't work. New hours means that there is no service between 9 and 7 am for the international contact number. The times when you are closed is the exact time when the majority of people from abroad will need to contact you - muppet.

Westpac causing undue hardship

Car stolen and recovered, Finally assessed the car after being pressured, and are offering half the sum agreed that it was insured for. Contents they asked for photos which were sent, now they want receipts for everything down to the socks and the umbrella. This is not fair or reasonable. They are placing undue hardship on a young family with two under 2s, with no vehicle, no replacement carseats and no funds for uni books or contents stolen. Not surprising your reveiws are so poor!!

Don't value customer

I resonate with the experiences mentioned by others.
They don't know how to deliver services or value customer's time.
I have a salary account with them for last 4 years . As a promotion they were offering special rates and one off cash back on home loan.
When contacted they promised to give a better offer than other banks .
After confirming these multiple times verbally we asked to give them the offer in writing. This is when they started wasting time by asking a new document every other day. This happened for almost a week and at the time when we were under pressure to give the builder a date for the entire amount.

After numerous calls/ messages, on the last day we get a mail with no offer but a request to do one more additional thing/ process to negotiate on the rates and just a sorry for not able to offer the promises/deals.

They charge 25$ to do big amount transaction by a teller, a service which is offered free by other banks.
Lost precious time and energy dealing with these people.

I'm trying to go to consumer court and take it to next level.

Estate Affairs!

Estate Affairs!

Ever heard of a bank where all 'Estate' banking affairs are handled in one main office? In NZ it is Wellington. The local branch will tell you to ring Wellington as they have nothing to do with Estates. Best of luck getting to speak to a human there - and even more luck if you have any of your hair left at the end of several months of trying to prove you are you and a certain person has deceased.
They go to great lengths stop you getting what is rightfully yours!
So much palaver to go through - too much to list. Just tell your loved ones to change banks before they die!!

Stay away from this bank!

Had to move my Kiwisaver to ASB and cancel my credit card. I just wanted to ask for a credit limit increase after three years, but they just made the simple process of approving/rejecting my request way too complicated.

warning to all

Warning to all.! Do not do business with Westpac
I have been paying trauma & life insurance to BT Financial Group approx $280/month through Westpac Bank for over 18 years and when I went to claim for the 1st time ever when I have a dissection in my descending aorta was knocked back because there was no operation.?
The only reason they did not operate was because I was fit & healthy
The 1st month after I could not take my heart rate over 80. The 2nd month heart rate under 100 and the 3rd month under 120.
This company penalises people that try to maintain their health & fitness.
We are only talking $25,000 as the payout you would think it was millions.
Maybe I should have agreed to surgery.?
This policy has been the biggest waste of money I have been paying for too many years.
Do not make the same mistake I did.
Beware doing business with Westpac & BT Financial for any insurance whatsoever.
