Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible. I got locked out of my account for daring to withdraw cash a few times. After visiting the bank twice and being on the phone for 40 mins uploading ID, I was told to visit a branch with 3 points of ID and it took 2 hours of waiting (I arrived first thing in the morning) and the nameless guy on Westpac's Fraud team was extremely rude, aggressive and even insulted me a number of teams, questioning how I got my money to use the bank account in question. What a shocker, I cannot believe how horrible I was treated. In the end, he reluctantly reopened my account.

Can't believe I'm giving a 5 star…

Can't believe I'm giving a 5 star review to a bank but seeing is believing here's the story my mum was nearly scammed out of around $2700 she's 86 the amazing care offered by Brooke went beyond the norm polite, curtious, friendly and very caring she sorted it all out took a bit of time to explain what happened gave her a bottle of water I'm so impressed I'm going to leave Bendigo bank and join Westpac thanks Brooke by the way she works at the Salisbury West Pac 😀 😊

Poor service

The service we received on our mortgage was absolutely useless. I eventually went in to a branch and said I want to leave the bank and have questions about any fees that might incur. I was told that the mortgage person was on lunch but they would ask her if she can see me. She said no and they said I could book an appointment. For a call anytime the next week. I asked for the following Tuesday. Ah no sorry. And then offered Thursday at a specific time. The call came. I was told she would lodge a complaint an a manager would contact me. It’s been 3 weeks and still no manager call. The customer service is useless. I will never use Westpac again.

Digital will be the end of us!

After trying to verify my id on the mobile app five times now then called Westpac 3 times to fix it and another three times of going into the branch to verify myself with physical finally Westpac rang me and a lady over the phone she'll sort it all out by the end of that day I just received another notification 2weeka later on my mobile app telling me to verify myself again and until I do ,all my accounts have been restricted to only being able to see how much money I have in there I cannot transfer and I cannot withdraw . If I could give them five 💩💩💩💩💩 as as negative 5 I would.
I reckon Its less hassle and more secure with no chances of my digital id and information being hacked and stolen or due to a digital currency crash if I just pulled all my money out And closed the accounts and go bury it in the backyard .
These day's u are forced to put your information on the web without choice as well as having the government and bank's constantly snooping into everyone's activity as well as authority to freeze accounts. Do we now need to ask permission first before we're able spend save or transfer money? What happened to privacy and Australia being s free country? And you notice there's politician questioning this? I think we all should be questioning this, otherwise in the near future u won't even be able to fart without someone asking why and telling u whether u can or can't .
Funny how they haven't asked my 85year old mother to verify her id

Don't waste your time....

Its been over two weeks now where Westpac has locked me out of my accounts for suspicion of fraud or scam. One transaction was a tax return from the ATO. Have provided evident to support the purpose of the transactions. No case number. 5 phone calls plus been in the bank branch to get KYC'd - no luck to resolve matter. Need to wait another 3 days. Raised a complaint - no response. Had to live off money from friends and family. Just a shit show - will be leaving the bank as soon as I can.

Westpac Estate complaints cancellation, no happy 😡

Hopefully a loved doesn't pass away with Westpac bank accounts. Westpac estate management is flawed if their are multiple executors with a dispute created by some executors and out number the remaining. They don't care as long as they get documents that they don't verify because they have errors and that one person is provided all required information, accepting no responsibility for ensuring all executors all get the information, if you don't contact them yourself they don't care they are happy to let it just sit there definately. If you make a complaint but postpone for legal advice they cancel the complaint although the was never the request. Their customer isn't protected as they don't have adequate policies. They get 2 stars as my complaint was attended to within a responsible timeframe but how it was dealt with deserves 0 stars, if you want to get some legal advise they shut you down as they aren't interest them with the pretense they do but haven't bothered to an email response less than 24hrs after they closed the complaint. Nope, they are happy to intensify your grief and stress, that's not their problem. I remember who I cancelled my personal Westpac accts years ago, it was the best thing I did for my financial prosperity. Don't die with a Westpac acct!

trying to get help on a fraudulent tranaction is impossible.

trying to get help on a fraudulent transaction is impossible. No help. Trained not to help. Its your fault! Even though we have a two step process where a Code has to be given before the transaction goes through. That is a lie. They took money out of our credit card anyway. The Bank is not interested in helping.

Horrible horrible Customer Support

Horrible horrible Customer Support. Their online check is so limited that it forces you to call and clarify the documents you have submitted. When you do call, you get passed around endlessly. When you fail the identity check because of your current work not being the same from their record, they flag you as not the right person, which is insane. If there's something that is not permanent on record, it's their JOB. its ridiculous to consider this as something to identify you. I only have one reason to call, to clarify their requirement which cannot be done online, but calling for support is a whole new level of difficulty. I ask myself why do I want to apply for a credit card with them?

If there was a zero rating I would have given you 0000000000
You do not provide any customer service.
you now dont talk to any customers ever and rely on AI which cant possibly handle all inquiries . you waste inordinate amount of my business and recreational time .
Your branches now are staffed with two banks operating independently so now one has to wait until there is a westpac staff member available. More time wasting . I off to Commonwealth.

Dreadful service

Dreadful service. Everything is in place to avoid a customer actually talking to a real person. The 'please say in a few words' is not helpful and by the time the customer service avoidance has been bypassed the person doesn't know how to help. The verify ID does not work, if you want people to verify id, make sure the system works for all. Get rid of the artificial arrangement, provide a decent service and everyone remember there are many other banks to choose from. After nearly 30 years its time to transfer to another bank. There are so many negative review, surely its time westpac reviewed their service unless they just don't care.

Locked out of my account far too many times. What's app was hacked. Was directed to wipe my entire phone and now can never get into my banking. Have to attend a branch. Steer clear, you'll be constantly locked out of your bank. Can't even lodge a complaint whilst locked out due to their policies. Ridiculous.

Westpac not responding and holding my refund more than 6 weeks

Westpac card dispute. Evidence from bank statement of vendor that Westpac reversed the transaction within 3 days of the transaction going through. Westpac therefore had my money in its possession now more than 6 weeks after I lodged the dispute. 3 emails later and still no communication despite evidence that Westpac has my money. Terrible customer service - another banking commission on big banks withholding client funds long after resolution?

Westpac: Billions in Profit, Zero Accountability and hiding Behind Fine Print…absolutely Pathetic!!!

🚨😡📞❌💰📈Absolutely gutted by Westpac Share Trading. Ordered 3000 units of a stock @ 30c.
Stock halted—quickly amended to 3500 @ 25c. No error shown, order “modified” and submitted.
Woke to them ignoring my change, filling 3000 @ 30c. Begged for fix or credit-got a cold “read the fine print T&Cs” slap.
Billions in profits, but hide behind legalese to screw retail investors-extremely DISAPPOINTED and FRUSTRATED.

Customer service creatRubbish servicees issues to keep…

Customer service creates issues to keep their jobs.
Went in showed ID at Morley branch then to come back.
So many emails to prove my identity.
I ended up ignoring their correspondence.
I had a card sent to me at correct address I opened as of Westpac Logo to find the card in someone's else name.
I contacted Westpac and was made to feel like a criminal.
The questions I got asked only doing the correct procedure.
In another conversation with a consultant I questioned why should I be treated this way.
They advised me they would look into the conversation and get back to me which never happened.
For years I either am permitted to talk to a consultant or my security questions don't match conversation ended.
Security I understand is paramout.
Westpac as I said to consultant in Morley after 2 attempts to prove my ID
Do I need stat decs DNA test.
Nearly 40 years with this bank.
In the process to move away.
