I paid for a Whitepages report…

I paid for a Whitepages report specifically to verify the identity of a person associated with a phone number. The information I received was inaccurate and did not identify the person I was actually trying to verify.

I paid for this service expecting meaningful and reasonably reliable information. Instead, I received information that appears to have been associated with the wrong individual. That is extremely concerning when the service is being used specifically for identity and contact verification.

If Whitepages cannot reliably connect a phone number to the correct individual, customers should not be charged for information presented in a way that suggests it is accurate or current. At a minimum, the results should clearly identify the information as potentially outdated or unverified before customers pay for the report.

I am very disappointed with the service and do not feel that I received what I paid for. I would like Whitepages to review this report and issue a refund for inaccurate information. I also strongly recommend that customers independently verify any identity information obtained through Whitepages before relying on it.

Nuisance

These people got ahold of my debit. Never signed up and didn't know what whitepages was but a phonebook! They continuously keep trying to charge my account even after cancelling card. They charged new debit card right after I activated it. Tried to call these people and Representative was so rude. Wanting my information as to set an account up..Hell no! Had bank block them and they still continue to try and charge card. Ridiculous....still trying after a month and a half. Give it a break. You can't get help from there company and they won't stop attempting to debit your account even though account is cancelled...nuisance

THIS IS A SCAM

DIABOLICAL! A very creative way to collect your data… have you verify it… pay them to collect and hold on to it… have other people pay to access it… create an even more intricate way to verify and correct info when you try to remove your data i.e. “verify that you are the person associated with this number…” If you haven’t gotten hooked don't. I think of the beautiful Luna moth i once tried to free from a spider’s nest. I actually had to destroy the nest.

Uncooperative, privacy violating company. I will consider pursuing legal action.

Another privacy violating company that doubles down on deletion requests like Spokeo. I am considering taking legal action to get my private number removed. I have the rights to request my personal data be removed under EU AND Nebraska law and their customer service representative is doubling down on refusing to get it OFF their site.

22 SEP 2026: Whitepages is still illegally hosting a listing for my phone number despite me being an EU data subject. I will be reporting them to their domain registrar for not following NDPA *or* GDPR

Avoid! Inaccurate and risky website.

I purchased a one time look at my own data available through Whitepages. It had multiple inaccuracies, including describing me as another person. to another person. There is no way of correcting these. Disturbingly, every time I went to the website my antvirus software warned of trojan horse malware. Every time.

The game this company plays!

The game this company plays is to charge you $1 for a phone number, and in the fine print you have 10 days to cancel their membership (that you didn't want) or they charge you $19.99 + tax. Then they tell you they can cancel the membership you didn't want in the first place but the $19.99 + tax is non-refundable. So that phone number i needed ended up costing $22.25. And on numerous posts they advertize Free phone numbers as well. They are a shameful business!

I simply wanted a reverse phone number…

I simply wanted a reverse phone number look up. Trying to see if a friends old phone number might still belong to him. I selected the clearly written option "reverse phone look up". It then, of course, shows me a blurred name and gives me a blue button and clearly says "pay one time fee to reveal the identity." I paid 13.99, they charged me and did not give me the info. Instead they told me I had to pay, again, this time 5.99 to be a premium member. I had to call and get refund. I feel sorry for the elderly nearly computer illiterate that trusted "white pages" only to be ripped off. I wonder how many people never got their money back? People that create systems like this are garbage.

Whitepages.com should not use it

Whitepages.com should not use the "white pages" or "whitepages" term that was meant for telephone directories, because this website is not a telephone directory. Perhaps if your individual information has been unchanged for a solid 10 or 20 years it might appear on this site, otherwise it is either not going to be there at all, or not going to be accurate. It is a so-called people search engine with various levels of payment (and various levels of success when locating information) I used it during its trial period, and just in case something went wrong with that also, I pretty much opened up a bank account ... and closed it. As I was at the time looking for work, found a job, and that was the only payroll from that job. Whitepages.com does not seem to mind, because I continue to get messages from them saying there is new & updated [ type of information ] from [ person ] ... This should not be, unless they added already known information, and took their time adding it. The purpose of the messages seems to reactivate my account at whitepages.com ... I do not believe that whitepages.com is worth any of my time, money, nor energy ... and their trial run should be easier to stop. The term white pages needs to be reserved for dedicated telephone directories with two choices: 1. name, address, and telephone numbers published, or 2. pay to delete. ... with those systems nobody needs to attempt a reverse lookup. Unfortunately, whitepages.com is not.

White Pages has become a Fraudulent Money Scam

I have been using the White Pages for almost a decade and am so incredibly disappointed by how the entire website has evolved into a blatant money scam. It has gotten so abusive and fraudulent that I have decided to start taking screen shots to document the consumer monetary abuses and illegalities and once fully documented I will be filing formal legal Complaints with federal and state regulatory authorities.

My information was found by a stalker

My information was found by a stalker. My full address, phone number, full name, and relatives was listed for anyone to look up. This person came into my house. This person contacted my relatives. Why would you put everyone's personal information out in public for any and everyone to look up. This should be illegal.
