Using the TrustPilot flagging process, Wickes accused my review of being defamatory despite it being a completely accurate representation of my experience relating to my bathroom installation ordered from their Newport branch. The TrustPilot AI bot agreed with them (which given they appear to be a paid TrustPilot subscriber is not very surprising) so here I am having to post my review without the detail.

Just know that if you value your safety, wellbeing and frankly your mental health, then you should not use Wickes, who's "Wickes-approved" installer (as per their marketing on their website) created a serious electrical safety hazard during our installation, of which I have photographic evidence and which has also been discussed with several Wickes staff at length already. Wickes are trying to silence me from going into further detail instead of engaging with their customers around these issues and taking ownership. The installation in total (for a tiny bathroom with relatively simple installation requirements) took 114 days to finish, due to a large amount of it having to be redone due to poor workmanship and installation against standards, which could have resulted in a cracked floor from water ingress, amongst other stuff.

I reserve the right to publish a promoted, accurate and comprehensive review on a private domain if there are further attempts to silence my completely accurate review to make sure my voice is heard. I know my review is accurate of my experience so Wickes really have no legal leg to stand on when claiming defamation. They just don't like being embarrassed at their own actions.

I await resolution of my 4,500 word complaint currently sat with Wickes, which is very long due to the quantity of issues it contains.

Kitchen design and fitting service. Really poor project mangement, customer service and all round planning. Shocking customer service. Missed install dates, wrong items, lack of communication and generally a complete lack of management.
The positives where the installer was very professional and the units were good quality.

The female employee name Mia was very well briefed on wicked products to a very high degree of compancy and I sure as I have over 40 years as major brickwork building contractors can say unequivocally a true great fantastic employee to wicked will go v v far with this company or such like company Mike c ham 07359 445369

I visited the Newport store & was deeply impressed with the level of customer care provided by Scott. Nothing was too much trouble & his friendly knowledgeable attitude was a breath of fresh air. If only every shop had Scott’s customer service ethos! Excellent 👍

Wickes Newport have recently supported us with our community project by making a donation of compost for use in our school garden. This donation will enable pupils from across our school to get involved with planting and growing their own crops, and enjoying the wellbeing benefits that these activities provide. Scott was super helpful, making sure the compost was loaded onto a trolley before I arrived to collect and helping me to load it into the car. Thank you!

Friendly helpful service, above and beyond. Ask a question and Lewis was great. Didn’t hesitate to go to warehouse to collect more flooring for me .

Instore online order did not reach supplier. Unaware of this until delivery date had passed. Had to then cancel order as item was needed urgently. Cancelling and getting refund was not straight forward. Had to keep contacting customer services to know what was happening. Did get refund eventually.

I have just been served by a young man in Wickes Newport call Scott. Talk about customer service he was outstanding. I was struggling to find a colour and we eventually found it on a display and he managed to replicate it for me beautifully. I’m thrilled with the colour. I’m also thrilled to the fact that he didn’t treat me like an old woman but with lots of respect And helpfulness. I hope this goal goes along way.

I called into the store to see if Wickes could help support a community group I am involved with. A group of local volunteers have taken over the management of the local community centre. The roof is currently leaking and it’s becoming problematic during the winter when it rains. The manager was really helpful and donated a load of materials including a large tin of bitumen paint and brushes so we could paint the roof for free. I have since painted the roof which has sealed the roof and stopped the leaks. We are really grateful at the Toc H Eveswell Community Centre for the generosity and support from Wickes, Newport.

Mandy on till was amazing, friendly, chatty whilst serving us knowledgeable.

Made an appointment for a home kitchen design appointment from Wickes Newport on 14th November 4.45pm. Nobody turned up at the assigned time, I called to check and nobody answered the phone. From looking at other poor reviews from this store it’s apparent that others have also found the design process to be poor.

Tried to order via Click and Collect but was unable to submit Gift Voucher code via APP. After spending time searching and adding 9 items to the basket and unable to complete , I was a little upset at the thought of walking around store retrieving items due to a torn meniscus which would have meant a great deal of pain . I entered the Newport store and was immediately met by an assistant called Mandy , who , in explaining my predicament promptly located all the items on the list with the help of Ian ( staff member) . They were so very helpful, I can honestly say I haven’t experienced that level of service in years! I am so overwhelmed by their prompt , efficient , no nonsense service I just felt I had to leave a review. But above all , they completed my ‘shopping list ‘ without showing the slightest bit of ‘inconvenience’ that a customer encounters by the average retail worker . I honestly feel Mandy is a great asset to Wickes and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the Newport Store . By a real customer !
