Had our kitchen done by wickes, very pleased with it, everyone did a good job, our designer Marie was very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much

I was recommended by a friend to use this particular store, saying they were really helpful and would take care of my needs as I flip houses, and at the same time kind of at the age when I should be retired. However,
I now use Wicks for all my materials and building needs because all the members give me confidence in anything I buy, and the staff really help me.

Since day one, meeting Russell and the team its been really amazing. Russell really goes out of his way to help everyone. I had a major problem with a big item I had bought and was really concerned about it, but I needn't have worried cause Tracey, one of the managers, took over and sorted out my problem with great expertise and professionalism, and explained what they would do to help me.

Since going into this store, I don't need or want to use other companies. I have found the team very helpful. than any store I have used in the past, I don't need to worry, I know one of the staff will go out of their way to help. Kia, one of the younger members of staff, is so polite and helpful, a young lad who goes out of his way to help. All the staff, Mary, Anna, Conner, and Andy, look out for all the customers. They are absolutely great, I recommend them all the time; telling my friends to go to Wickes in Torquay, they are the best, and nothing is too much trouble for them. So go on, all you builders and the public, give this store a visit, you won't regret it. A very satisfied customer

We recently bought a bathroom for our Ensuite from the Torquay Branch. Our designer Teresa was brilliant, she helped us, very patiently achieve our perfect bathroom, spending hours getting everything just right. Nothing was too much trouble, her knowledge and expertise was second to none. Everything arrived in tandem on our designated delivery day with great communication from the dispatch team. No hesitation in using Wickes again.

Further Update 1 month in: still have a pile of waste outside front door a month after bathroom completed. Wickes confirmed via Instagram today (person called AB who has been super helpful) that complaints should be responded to in 48-72 hrs, yet 2 weeks since I submitted a written complaint and still no response, also Wickes do not allow you a copy of their complaints policy- why???
Update did have rats living in the waste heap that was up to our downstairs windows.60% waste now gone and rats seem to have gone too 🤞🤞

The worst experience ever, all aspects have been awful (bar Tony the fitter). Designer designed a bathroom that wasn't possible, didn't notice floor joist directions, (flooring was up and obvious). The bathroom has to be revised several times, with multiple compromises.

Half our order didn't turn up before the fitter started (Tony who was excellent), some bits only turned up a week after the fitter had left, still awaiting them to be fitted - update- now fitted by excellent Tony.

Complained to our coordinator, who we only managed to speak to once, they stopped being our coordinator and allocated us a new coordinator who has never spoken to us (still never contacted us despite complaint).

We have all the waste outside our house, it's been there for ten days now.(Update now a month), the contractor has submitted the waste removal request 3 times (update- 6 times - Wickes blamed Tony the fitter every time we called despite him being excellent and completing the forms on front of my wife), but nothing has been done (update-some has been done- waste firm are excellent it's purely all a Wickes issue), we might, if we are lucky get the possibility of a date to have the waste removed tomorrow (update- no we didn't - waste team have been twice without any notice to remove our waste mountain- no one from Wickes has been in touch to update is at all) with a warning that it'll be 7-10 working days time, over 3 weeks after the job was "mostly" finished and the waste removal requested was submitted (this week are told is the best case scenario).

We have spent 17k on a bathroom, contractor charge was 3 x higher than the "kitchen designer" estimated🙄.

We had to coordinate all the deliveries ourselves due to our non existent coordinator. We were also told that we would have to choose a new bathroom counter top as ours hadn't been ordered and was no longer available, "nothing could be done", on calling the manufacturer "yes it could be done" and it was sent out.

We told the coordinator that we were planning on a new kitchen and a new ensuite, another £60K of work, expecting that we could expect some level of service, but in every way Wickes have been awful.

It would be nice if I could update this review to a 2 star if you could get the 2 tonnes of waste shifted from the front of my house as it has been annoying the neighbours as it blows into their gardens and they aren't looking forward to it being their for another 2 weeks (update it's been a month and still there) until wickes eventually remove it, this is a service Wickes was quick to take payment for but not to fulfil.

Further Update wife called again, over 100 phone calls made and the person she spoke to was lovely until they checked "our file" and then they were awful, made my wife cry, we spent a fortune, have raised 2 complaints, have had such poor service, we aren't allowed to have a copy of Wickes complaints policy, a month later we still have a massive pile of waste outside our front door, despite 2 visit to remove it. We had rats living in "Wickes waste pile" and haven't had any response to 2 written complaints other than "your coordinator will be in touch" (that was 2 weeks ago and still waiting) despite the timeline being 48-72 hours! If you want a kitchen done go to magnet if you want a bathroom done call a local plumber instead, just whatever you do don't use Wickes

Lorraine in Torquay was very understanding and had great patience with our debating the shower room.

Asked Wickes Torquay to do a bathroom design, all looked great ordered but decided to use our own install, all the materials were of good quality, really pleased with the end result.

I was served by a young man called Russell. He made my whole visit easy and a pleasure with his helpfulness and product knowledge. I wish more shops had staff like him.

Design consultant, Lorraine Littlewood made the whole experience enjoyable and hassle free. Professional and patient whilst giving excellent advice on layout and types of units. We felt very lucky to have such a wonderful person guiding us through the process.

Myself and my grandmother recently had the pleasure of dealing with Mr Jay West while planning a new kitchen, and we felt he truly deserved a review. From start to finish he was absolutely lovely to deal with. Jay was incredibly professional, patient, and genuinely helpful throughout the whole process.
He took the time to listen to exactly what we wanted, answered every question we had, and never once made me feel rushed or pressured. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him, and he went above and beyond to make sure everything was explained clearly and that we felt confident with my choices.
Customer service like this is rare to come by, and it really made the experience enjoyable. I would highly recommend Jay to anyone looking for a new kitchen – he is a real credit to the company.

We have purchased a new kitchen from Wickes and the design consultant Lorraine Littlewood was amazing. She took us through the whole process of choosing and designing our kitchen, making very useful suggestions along the way and helping us to sort out all the extra bits. We are extremely happy with her design and are looking forward to the installation.

Lorraine at Wickes Torquay was just fabulous designing a new kitchen to replace my very tired, dated and worn 25 year old black and white units. We went with Tiverton in Bone. The units are beautiful and well made and the cost extremely competitive. Lorraine was exceptionally visionary, took my needs into account including the fact I desire symmetry but also that I’m getting older and it’s less easy to bend down to lift heavy trays out of an under counter oven. She suggested replacing the breakfast bar and instead creating a triple unit with a double oven, fridge freezer and full height larder combined. The result is a beautiful and functioning kitchen that everyone who sees it is impressed by. Thank you Lorraine. You’re an asset to Wickes ❤️

I came into the store today to pick up an order and Mary signed me up to a trade account she was friendly and helpful.

Marie made our experience great - without question. From the outset she was so helpful and knowledgeable - from first meeting her I knew we had found our kitchen and didn’t need to look elsewhere. She took our ideas, making them work while quietly advising us along the way. She was very efficient and mindful of our budget, in the end creating a kitchen we are thrilled with!

Mary was very helpful and pleasant and made me feel at ease as I am a pensioner

We have recently had our Kitchen, downstairs toilet, Bathroom and new shower room put in. We approached Wickes having seen some of their work in our friends houses.

From start to finish they were really good, Marie was our designer. She visited the house and we were able to show her the rooms we wanted worked on and explained the sort of style we wanted. She went away and came up with some designs and we went to see them 4 days later. What Marie has designed was great and fitted the brief really well. We decided to go with it.

Wickes appointed us some local builders to do the fitting, who were amazing. Between Marie and the fitters they managed the whole project in terms of deliveries, timings and time scale. In the space of four weeks the whole project was done and working.

We really would recommend Wickes, all the products are great quality and, apart from a couple of little alterations, everything went to plan.

Tony was excellent and extremely helpful with our paint match. He made time to ensure we had the right paint. He suggested mixing a tester first to ensure it was right. Would definitely be back.
