I came from Italy and I was in vacation in the amazing Vienna for 3/4 days, in particular from 20th november to 23th November, togheter with my boyfriend

This review to denounce a really disappointing and oltrageous fact occurred on 23th November during our voyage from Wien st Marx station to Wien Airport

We bought on 21th November a wiener linien 72 hours ticket, we validated It on 21th November 10:30 am, and we used it for all the transports during our vacation in Vienna, included the S7 train OBB we took in st Marx station to arrive to the Airport.

When we arrived two stations before the Airport one, the ticket inspector asked us to show him the tickets
We of course gave him our 72 hours wiener linien tickets with no exitation

Then he asked us for other tickets for the two stops not included in our tickets...
What?????? Really???? This has no sense absolutely and this is a real abuse!!!

There is no mention about stations not included or requiring other tickets!!!

He didn't explain anything about this request, he just said we should have paid for a fine of Euro 105,00 (quote for One Person) so we were forced to pay Euro 210,00 with the threat of being forced paying more in case we couldn't pay at that moment immediately, or worst of being taken to the Police in case we would have had objections.
What a shame! The ticket inspector was rude, no clear nor with his language nor in the attitude and he didn't explain us the reason of the fines, which Is for us still a mistery!

After this bad situation occurred we tried to have some infos online but anything clarified us the oltrageous fact we were victims of:

There is no clear indication about stops not included! No warning, no possibility to know about this...

In the wiener linien website there are just general info, no clear mention of stops not included and there is just a generic list of stations / stops included (how It Is possibile for a not local person to understand or know about which stations are included or not in the core zone...?!?!?) ...there Is no Maps of clear explanation and worse is that also on the web page of the whimapp dedicated to more info about the core zone there Is the bad surprise to find a not available Page (error 410 in the screenshot)

also the Obb official website doesn't clarify anything about core zone or stations/ stops outside it...

It Is an abuse against not local people and this Is really oltrageous, like oltrageous Is the fact that for just one or two stops non included in the core zone, so not covered by our tickets, we had to pay a fine like we were without any tickets!

Shame of you! It Is ridicolous and we pretend a formal reply about this our complain and an adequate compensation!

We have already informed by phone the italian embassy in Wien and also the italian consulate (in cc reading)!!!

The lack of clear information by your side Is cause of fines against poor tourists who spend money in your city!

We had our tickets..valid for the S7 too...is It true there are stops not included?! If so it is our right to be clearly informed about this and to have a fine like we were whithout any tickets is not righ at all!

We pretend an adequate reply and we expect precise explanations, excuses and refund of the fines! We were just victims of your lack of trasparency! We were absolutely in good will, you are not!

Horrible app and service.
To read the application you need to be a magician.
Difficult navigation, errors to find stop places, no service at all. The city net to stop the bike hasn't enough numbers. Very complicated also inside the Ring. Completely to forget.

I think its horrible that security is used even today just to patrol masks. Let people make up there own mind. I no long feel fear or sympathy when I hear the other people say one day they attack security. For me it will be fine. I pay for this train to go to and from me job. I don't need anyone telling me to wear a useless face mask anymore. Leave me alone!

The software and the customer service is very poor. I can not find anything positive at all.

Delay delay delay and no enough connections nor air conditioning system

Even though I closed my“JahresKarte“ in the middle of March and paid for the whole month, they still take money from my bank account as a closing fee of 20 Euros in April. Nobody told me about the closing fee. I don't even live in Vienna since mid-March. They don't give my money back. That's how Wiener Linien rips of peoples money. Dont trust this company. They charge me cause I dont wanna use their “Jahreskarte“ anymore. How ridiculous!!!!

This has to be the crappiest public transport company in Europe. Am honestly shocked. Consistently late, erratic, slow and unreliable. North Korean public transport was better. I’m not joking. The worst thing is that they regularly screw you over by cancelling yr trip mid trip and just kick all the passengers out in the middle of nowhere. Absolutely appalling attitude to customer service. Trips that should have taken ten minutes take 45. Honestly you are better off walking or talking a taxi. A taxi may cost more but you don’t have the annoyance and frustration that Wiener Linien will 100% deliver. Just look at all the other reviews here (mostly from locals) they are consistently absolutely terrible. Honestly do yourself and your vacation a huge favour and just stay clear of anything to do with this company.

To be honest this only concerns the line 10a. But this is in my experience the worst bus line in Vienna. I'm not even talking about being on time, I know traffic on the 10a line is horrible but that bus drivers ignore waiting passengers and just keep driving so that they might make up some lost time is unacceptable. Happened at around 20:30, 06.12.21 at Familienplatz.

Calculating bully methods by rude and xenophobic conductors fining paying customers! As a visiting student from Denmark my encounter with Wiener Linien and their practice of grabbing my ticket out of my hand because I did not validate it within 4 seconds of being on the tram, truly is a shameful and sad spot on the lovely city of Vienna. 😔 No communication, no tolerance of non german-speaking people and a gang of conductors who clearly have a quota of tickets they need to achieve everyday, causing them to fine vulnerable turists need to stop...🤦‍♂️

Lot of employees of Wiener Linien are super rude. I was given a fine totally unfair. I had a single ticket, I haven't changed the line, but used the ticket 30 minutes after stamping it (as my newborn kid was crying and I had to calm him down, so I waited at the stop and didn't take the first metro coming). They told me I have to use the ticket right away (though the ticket has written that its valid over an hour) and even though my ticket was still actually valid, they said from my initial stop to where they checked me it takes 15 mins, not 45 minutes. Second of all, how they talked to me and treated me, with super arrogant attitude and with lots of irony.
