Owner trades under other names

Wimborne Windows now ceased trading leaving lots of us unhappy customers without windows, or badly fitted damaged windows.
Many of us have been battling with the slippery owner Laurence Henderson-Mann for years.
He will simply open up again under another name.
Check him out on company's house, involved in 2 other window companies.

Awful company and owner - AVOID

Avoid this company and any other company associated with its owner at all costs.

We are thousands of pounds down, with refusal to refund us or to resolve any issues. This is due to two reasons:
1. Poorly installed windows/doors that need to be completely removed, parts replaced and reinstalled by another fitter (with forced acceptance that many frames are the wrong size to begin with or have unresolvable damage).
2. Part of our order was never placed with the supplier, despite assurances in October this had happened. We ended up paying in good faith 90% of the cost for supply and fitting for this part of the order and neither will be provided now. We're forced to reorder though a different fitter, essentially paying twice.

The owner refuses to take any responsibility, blaming us as the customer and also his owner fitters, rather than taking any accountability or being honest. He evades all requests to reach a resolution and is now supposedly liquidating the company, despite having many different active companies with similar names on companies house. Conveniently the owner's name is spelt differently on many of them and they all have different registered addresses, none of which seem related to their own premises.

Whatever you do, please look elsewhere DO NOT order from this company unless you like losing thousands of pounds and having gaping holes in your house where windows are missing or damaged.

Wimborne Windows have closed
I ordered a new front door 3 year ago and have repeatedly chased it, given every excuse under the sun, had a fitting date but the measurements were wrong, been chasing again only to get an email so say they have ceased trading. I repeatedly requested a refund but they kept refusing as it was a 'bespoke' door, so bespoke it doesn't fit anywhere!

Poor service again

Came to replace window, took out window and then realised had measured incorrectly so new window didn’t fit…….AGAIN, so had to put old window back in. Also Fitted missing trim to another window ( been waiting over a year) but left with sharp bits sticking out, e mailed numerous times no response.
Been contacted by many other dissatisfied customers.
Don’t be fooled by the owners responses, blaming the customers each time.

Couldn’t recommend this company enough!!

Have had windows and our front door fitted by this company. Can highly recommend. Amazing customer service/communication. The fitters were on reliable and punctual and tidied up after themselves!!
Couldn’t fault the service from start to finish! I’m really pleased with my new windows and my door.

Thank you Laurence, leah, Barry and Finnley . Even with all the turmoil within the industry at the moment. Our installation went very well, even with the appalling weather this week. The whole job was completed on time and to a very high standard of finish.

Unfortunately cannot recommend as since March 2021 I have been waiting to get a Fensa certificate......
EDIT: finally after over a 18 months we received our certificate

I don’t often leave reviews but wanted to on this occasion as I was so impressed with the service and finish of installation. I’m in the building trade and know good contractors when I see them and these guys are good.

I would not recommend.

Sadly my experience of Wimborne Windows is of appalling customer service. It takes at least 3 calls and emails to get any response from them. Even cancelling my order after waiting 8 months for a new door did not prompt any comment from them. I realise there have been significant delays in DIY supplies in the last year or so, but when offered alternative glass for the door I was unable to speak to anyone about this despite repeated attempts to contact them...hence cancelling my order. Very disappointed.

Mrs Brown we appreciate you understand delays with manufacturing are out of our control but you were also aware at the point of order the door was made to measure and bespoke and therefore you are unable to cancel the order , we also don't agree with your comments surrounding talking to you about other glass options as you called and told the office you wanted to cancel the order . We are of course frustrated with the delays the 'DIY' market still faces as we get no satisfaction to have unhappy customers particularity when manufacturing is out of our control . We feel a 1 star review is also unfair given the fact you state above you understand the delays are out of our control . Sorry on this occasion we have been unable to help and wish you all the best

We have had quite a few windows fitted…

We have had quite a few windows fitted by Wimborne windows and are not unhappy with the work. It is nearly a year later and we are yet to receive our Fensa paperwork. I have emailed and rung but no one has come back to me. We have since used another company to do a few panes and received the Fensa certificates back within a few months. I agree with previous comments that the after sales service is more than poor. We need these certificates if we move within the next few years. Comment please!

I'm so disappointed and frustrated with…

I'm so disappointed and frustrated with a lack of contact from this company.
I had all of my window glass replaced by them a few years ago, with an excellent service, and have recommended them on since then.

This time I ordered a replacement glass unit for my pateo door in September 2020. This arrived just before Christmas, and during fitting, found the glass had been measure incorrectly. I understand that mistakes can happen.

I have had 1 email some months ago after asking for an update on my order, explaining delays due to Covid which I understood. I have rang this company since a further 5 times and emailed twice, to ask when I can expect my glass to arrive, and for an update. Each time being told by a receptionist that my message will be forwarded for someone to get back to me.
I am still waiting to hear.....

Very poor customer service guys. What's going on?......

Update: Thank you for looking into my complaint. After receiving an email from Lawrence in January 2021, assuring me that he had re-ordered my replacement glass, Wimborne Windows have now told me that he had not actually ordered this at all. What a waste of my time and not even an apology given.....Such a shame I am having to write this negative review about a local company.

Disappointing experience with this local family, firm, please read.

My experience with Wimborne Windows has been very poor. They cracked a frame during installation which is still not rectified 18 months on. There are so many faults to mention. They did not take care of my property, were messy, rushed the job and the next day we realised how bad it was, although had paid in full. My advice is shop elsewhere

Great company to deal with

Great company to deal with , price was very competitive. From initial home visit to a further site survey , installation and follow up Wimborne Window’s were fantastic and highly recommend,
Windows Frame’s are very good quality and the filters were very polite and respectful in our home , thank you

Excellent and professional service

Professional and friendly service throughout. Replaced blown glass while many other Companies just wanted to replace the whole doors.
The Fitter Alan was friendly, tidy and efficient.
The Company kept in touch during the difficult early days of the Corona Virus and we were kept fully informed at all times.
We would use this Company again and strongly recommend them to everyone.
