The change is way higher than other providers, and we have no choice but to enter this contract like other new buildings owners/ renters. £70+ per month for no more than one hour usage for hot water per day, I feel I’ve been robbed! They said part of the charge is for maintenance fee. It would cost us way less money to hire plumbers or pay home insurance than pay WithEnergy maintenance which we barely use for the past years.

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided.

I have already sent a formal complaint via email regarding my ongoing hot water issue, but I have not received a single response. Not even an acknowledgment. This level of neglect is completely unacceptable.

I am paying for a service, yet I am being left without reliable hot water. At times, the hot water cuts off halfway through a shower, forcing me to endure cold water. This is not only frustrating but frankly unbelievable for a paid utility service.

What makes the situation worse is the complete lack of communication. Ignoring customer complaints is not just poor service — it shows a serious lack of responsibility.

I strongly urge the company to take this matter seriously, respond promptly, and ensure that the service provided meets the expected standard. No customer should have to go through this.

If this issue continues to be ignored, I will have no choice but to escalate the matter further.

Very disappointed.

Hi Patrick,

We’re sorry to hear about this. It’s not the level of service we aim to provide.

We haven’t been able to identify your account from this review, but we’d like to investigate this further, particularly the billing and heating issues you’ve mentioned.
Please contact our support team at hello@with.energy with your property address or account reference so we can look into this as a priority.

I hate writing bad reviews but I have no choice as nothing has changed for 9 months…. And I don’t seem to be along🤩en nor do I believe this will not happen again:

With Energy operate on a cycle of temporary fixes rather than proper solutions. Each engineer visit (x7), appears to undo or mask the mistakes left behind by the previous one, resulting in ongoing issues, repeated call-outs, and multiple weeks in total without heating. It’s -4 outside as I write this!

Until they have matured and can actually prove their competence I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. They have 1 star rating from nearly 100 reviews and don’t seem to care let alone respond to these reviews/concerns 😞

Hi Sam, we’re sorry for the delay in responding and for the issues you’ve experienced over the past few months, particularly the periods without heating.

We can see that further work was carried out recently to resolve this, and the system is now operating as expected. That said, we appreciate how frustrating this situation will have been.

If you’re still experiencing any issues, or would like to discuss this further, please contact our support team at hello@with.energy and we’ll look into it as a priority.

An absolute embarrassment.

With Energy operate on a cycle of temporary fixes rather than proper solutions. Each engineer visit appears to undo or mask the mistakes left behind by the previous one, resulting in ongoing issues and repeated call-outs.

While the pricing may be low, the service quality reflects that. There is a clear lack of consistency, accountability, and effective problem-solving.

If you value competent engineers and long-term fixes instead of repeated disruption, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

No point giving a date of when this happened because it’s the same thing every single day of the year.

An absolute joke.

With Energy is as close to a scam as a company can get while still operating. They charge me a standing fee of £45 per month, and I'm unable to switch providers due to their contract with the new build where I live. They take full advantage of residents in new builds who cannot change providers, forcing them to pay these outrageous standing charges. Despite having my heating off, I received a bill for £200 last month. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This company should be shut down.

Be careful before moving into a new build that uses With Energy

Dreadful company. They are putting up the heating & hot water unit charge by over 70% as well as doubling the standing charge for our entire development of thousands of people, just in time for December when you need it most. They know they have all their customers over a barrel as residents have no choice in heating and hot water suppliers in these new builds. They must be giving bribes to property management companies because I can’t understand any other reason why they would choose With Energy. Absolute crooks.

Increased our heating rate by more than 5x and doubled our standing charge, just as winter approaches. Refused to give a breakdown to justify this massive price hike, have reported to ofgem and our local MP. Disgrace of a company who are pretty incompetent when it comes to billing correctly, we can't leave them so they don't care what they charge or how terrible their service is. I would rate them as one of the worst companies (not just energy but in general) that I have ever come across.

Awful company - avoid at all cost

If I could rate the company a 0, I would. Unfortunately I am locked in because I bought a new build flat. The customer service is awful, emails go unanswered for weeks on end, despite numerous follow ups and calls. I have a boiler issue that has been ongoing for over 18months. Their tactic is to wear you down so much that you give up on following up.

£4 per day service charge for hot water!

They are making our flats (Doniford House in Southall) which is new build to pay a daily rate service charge of 4£ just to have a supply of hot water and heating to our flats. So even if we didn't even use hot water or heating in the month it's £120 pounds going to them. It is also likely linked to FirstPort. Their website says "providing low cost low carbon energy". How is this true?

Two-stage authentification not working as it should and can't pay bills using a mobile.

Tried accessing my account online. Entered my details, then waited for the code to be sent to my phone as part of the two-stage authentication. I waited 8 minutes without a thing. So, I selected 'send a new code' and it came instantly. The system clearly isn't working as it should and needs fixing.

I've given up contacting the customer service team as they're answer to everything is 'we are aware of it and we are looking into it' without anything changing.
e.g. you cannot pay your bills using a mobile as the 'pay now' button is obscured at the bottom of the screen and you cannot activate it. But I needn't worry - With Energy is aware of it and they are looking into it.

Hi Mr Pike,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and I'm really sorry for the frustration you've experienced.

To clarify, the two-stage authentication process is handled through Microsoft’s authentication system, which operates independently of our platform. While it generally works reliably, delays can sometimes occur due to mobile network conditions or device settings. Although this is outside our direct control, we’ve flagged your experience to our technical team to monitor and raise with Microsoft where appropriate.

You also rightly point out the issue with the “Pay Now” button on some mobile devices. This is part of a wider review to improve usability across platforms, but we know how frustrating it is when fixes take time. In the meantime, payments can still be made via desktop, or over the phone with our customer service team.

We also want to sincerely acknowledge your comment about feeling dismissed. It's never our intention to make customers feel unheard, and we understand how it can sound like a brush-off when you're told, “we're aware and looking into it.” We’re working hard to improve how we communicate progress on known issues.

As part of that commitment, we're developing further improvements to the customer portal and would love for you to be part of a small customer trial group. There’s absolutely no obligation, but as someone who’s been such a vocal advocate for customer experience, we’d really value your input. We’ll be in touch directly with more details.

Thanks again for your feedback — it genuinely helps us improve.

Kind regards,
With Energy

Avoid or move, worst company…

Honestly the worst energy company I have ever had to use. I say had to use as I couldn’t move as they provided a joint system for a whole building.

There user interface is absolutely horrendous struggle to pay bills on it. Struggle to find bills on it. Numbers don’t match on it feels like a big scam going on there.

There was an issue at one point in the building where they couldn’t read meters or charge. They didn’t tell anyone - carried on taking the standard charge then on the 28th December sent me £300 bill out of the blue.

Customer service is extremely poor if not non-existent maybe wait 3 weeks for someone to get back to you. Absolutely awful will be surprised if this hasn’t disappeared in the next 5 years.

Hiccups

After not knowing why my radiator was working I left it alone cause it was summer and did not need it. Witheneergy had an inspection and found the problem that was cause by the heating system and affected the radiator aspect of it. Despite saying they were going to make an appointment from September 2024 did not hear from them in over three months despite multiple emails about the issue and thus had to endure the freezing winter without a radiator and had to buy my own portable one so I could tolerate the winter. After three months, they said they will send an engineer around.
Adrian was the engineer assigned to my case and he was very professional and courteous. He went above and beyond to sort out the issue and took the time to explain the situation at hand. Finally after being there for an hour fixed the situation and now resolved. Adrian is definitely a boss engineer.

Scammers

Scammers!
My heating is currently OFF. The bathroom floor is ROASTING (under floor heating)!! The thermostat is set to 18c yet the room is 24c! The heating control panel says the heating is NOT ON, yet the whole house is roasting. My heating bill is £300 a month some months, yet I never turn it on! They charge you for energy you don’t purposely use. Reported this several times, no action taken by With Energy, they say my bill is correct.
You would be better off burning logs in the middle of your living room than using this company for heating!!

Avoid “With Energy” and Be Cautious…

Avoid “With Energy” and Be Cautious When Buying from Berkeley Group

I would strongly advise anyone to be extremely careful when considering a property purchase from Berkeley Group. What they fail to tell you is that you are locked into using a single energy provider: With Energy. This isn’t just inconvenient—it’s outright monopolization. You don’t have the freedom to choose a provider that offers competitive rates or better service. You’re stuck, plain and simple.

To make matters worse, With Energy charges an absurd £2 per day as a standing charge. That’s over £700 a year before you even use a single unit of energy. It’s completely unjustifiable and feels like daylight robbery. How is this even allowed? This ridiculous fee leaves you paying far more than necessary for basic utilities.

Berkeley Group has essentially handed its customers over to an exploitative energy company, ensuring you’re forced into paying extortionate fees with no way out. It feels unethical and deceitful, especially since this critical information isn’t disclosed upfront during the buying process.

If you’re considering buying a property from Berkeley Group, Bankside Gardens, I urge you to dig deeper into this hidden trap before committing. The combination of poor transparency and exploitation through With Energy is enough to sour what should be an exciting investment in your future. Buyer beware!
