Hi Jebbear, thanks for your candid feedback. At Hugo, you can't "pause" your insurance, but if you're unable to top up your account before your account hits empty and must cancel your insurance, you can do so at any time from inside your Hugo account.

Feel like I was bamboozled it said I could pause the insurance they mean you can stop and turn it off everybody knows they can stop their damn insurance whenever they want to pause means I can pause it for today and pick back up tomorrow and not pay for days I don't need I swear to God that's what I read but evidently something's not working cuz I'm just now for a whole weekend that I'm not even going to be in the car

Unfortunately, we do not advertise insurance that you can "start" or "stop" or "pause" – our Hugo Basic plan is designed to remain active. Your policy is either cancelled or active. Your state requires continuous liability coverage on all registered vehicles, whether you're driving the vehicle or not.
We do advertise flexible payments, which allow you to pay for coverage a little bit at a time (like a few days, weeks, or a month).
