The ruffles and bows are decorative, the sides are not adjustable. These are so flattering. Low rise and cheeky in the back and stay in place. Even though the top runs true to size (I am 32C and fit a small), Montce bottoms run smaller. I usually wear a small and got a medium. There's a tiny bit of hip dip at the elastic. I am a 26" waist / 36" hip.
