What A Find

My car, a twenty-five year old Corsa, broke down at 12.30 p.m. on a supermarket car park. The engine was completely dead even though it had started perfectly from home. I tried to jump start from a battery pack. When this didn’t work I phoned a friend and tried to jump start from his car, again to no avail. I called my regular garage, who had carried out repairs and MOTs on the vehicle for the past twenty-two years. They were unable to offer any assistance. The friend who came out to help me then recommended that I try WOOLSTON CAR CLINIC. I gave them a call and spoke to Wakas. Within an hour my car was being loaded on to a breakdown truck. I went to the CLINIC the next morning and they had already run the diagnostics which identified either a faulty crankshaft sensor or possibly a seized engine. They ordered the appropriate part which arrived the next day. Before they replaced the part they tried to rotate the crankshaft manually which would indicate that the engine was not seized and that the replacement part was needed (otherwise it could be returned at no charge). The work was carried out on a Saturday, which is usually a 2.00 p.m. finish. Wakas rang me at home at 2.10 p.m. - they had carried on working to complete the task - and told me that the replacement part had sorted out the problem, and that he would wait for me to call round to pick up the car. When Wakas presented the bill, I couldn’t believe how reasonable the charges were. What a find! WOOLSTON CAR CLINIC is definitely my go to garage in future.

Not even open at arranged time. No contact. Poor customer service.

Arrived at pre-arranged time to find shutters closed and 2 large vans with the fronts missing seemingly abandoned in front of the premises. Immediately had my doubts about leaving a car here. Rang the number on the site and was told they were on their way and they were delayed due to the weather. A dusting of snow had cleared and roads were clear so that was not the issue. They hadn't bothered to ring me and say they were delayed. No customer service. Trust lost. I won't be going here again if you might arrive to find it not open.

The Garage to Use in Warrington

This garage is in my opinion the one to use in Warrington, we've used Woolston Car Clinic before and definitely will again if the need arises. After braking down we had the car (Renault Grand Scenic III 1.5 DCI )taken here on a Saturday lunchtime unannounced without prior arrangement by the AA, just dropped it on them. As the garage was very busy I didn't expect to hear from them anytime soon, however 3 days later they called me to say the car was repaired (clutch/stop &start issue) but were waiting for a switch/relay box which if purchased from main dealer would be very expensive so they would source from elsewhere dramatically dropping the overall cost of the repair, a week later all fixed back to normal and at a very reasonable cost " can't fault these guys" Thankyou once again Warrington Car Clinic.👍

Bad experience

"If you're looking for a place to empty your wallet while receiving service that makes you question your life choices, this is the perfect garage for you! The prices are so high you'd think they were repairing a spaceship, not a car. The professionalism? Non-existent. Communication? Imagine trying to have a meaningful conversation with a brick wall—at least the wall doesn't overcharge you. Avoid this circus at all costs unless you enjoy frustration and financial ruin!"

I would give 0 stars

I would give 0 stars, but unfortunately, that’s not an option. This garage is completely unprofessional. A small job can cost you a few hundred quid. What’s more, if you pay in cash, you’ll get £20 off, but in that case, you won’t get any invoice or receipt because they claim they don’t provide those in such situations. If you’re planning to spend your hard-earned money on car repairs, steer well clear of this place and look for a professional garage where you can get your car fixed properly.

Poor workmanship, incomplete repairs, dishonesty and dangerous damage to my car

Woolston Car Clinic carried out a basic repair - a lower suspension arm replacement. Immediately following the repair I began experiencing serious issues with the suspension system, which despite multiple opportunities they were unable to resolve, and which seemed to be more than a coincidence.

After taking the car to a reputable specialist, they've advised that not only was the repair carried out incorrectly and the suspension left in a dangerous condition, damage had also been caused to the brake flexi pipe and the suspension sensors, which had led to the failures being experienced. On top of that, the wheel alignment which I was advised had been carried out in an effort to diagnose and resolve the issues has in fact not been done.

I'm taking appropriate action to recover my costs and losses.
