Terrible customer service
1. The first car they gave me had many faults including completely loosing breaks on the road.
2. Second car also had electrical issues including gas meter, which they used against me claiming that the tank was not full at return and they wanted to overcharge me. They forced the way to the gas station just to notice the tank was indeed full.
Very rude people, and very poor customer service on top of very poor car conditions. Never going there again
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE!
1. We received a dirty, damaged and unsafe car that was not in proper working condition. We called the rental company after the engine warning light came on because we were concerned that we should not continue driving. We were told that everything was fine and that we should not worry. However, just a few kilometres later, the car started stalling while we were driving on the road. Despite this, we were instructed to drive the car back to the rental office, which put us in a dangerous situation on the road.
2. We received an unjustified speeding “fine” for allegedly exceeding the speed limit, supposedly measured using the GPS built into the car. We do not believe this charge was justified and were not provided with sufficient evidence to support it.
3. Last but most importantly, we had serious problems getting our deposit back. The money was initially returned to us, but the following day it was charged again. This resulted in numerous phone calls, a lot of stress and wasted time. The customer service was unpleasant and unhelpful, and our requests to have the deposit returned were repeatedly ignored...
Worst rental experience I've had — and I don't write reviews
I don't write reviews. I'm writing this one because what Zezgo did in Orlando crossed the line from bad service into something I believe was deliberate.
It took over an hour to get picked up. The booking confirmation gives you a phone number; call it and you get an automated message telling you to go to a specific pickup location. We went there and stood in the heat with our kids for 25 minutes. Nobody came. I called back and waited to reach an operator — the voicemail box was full. On the third call I found a way around the automated system and finally reached a real person, who told me, "Oh, you just need to call us to come get you, we'll be there in 15 minutes." That information appears nowhere in the confirmation, nowhere in the recording, and nowhere at the pickup point. So we stood outside in Florida heat with children for an hour because Zezgo can't be bothered to put one accurate sentence in their own booking email.
At the counter, the upsell barrage started. I declined coverage after coverage. At the very end they added something they called a "partial damage waiver." When I told the agent I did not want it, he told me that by law, in the state of Florida, I was required to accept that coverage. That is not true. I said I didn't agree with it. He wouldn't release the car. I signed it because I had two kids, no transportation, and no other option — which is exactly the position that tactic is designed to create.
Then I got the receipt at the end of the trip. Zezgo's own paperwork lists that charge in the optional column. Their own document contradicts what their agent told me to my face to get me to sign.
I disputed the charge with my credit card company. Zezgo's response was that I signed the agreement. That's it. They forced a signature with a false statement about state law, and then pointed at the signature as their defense. They are not disputing what happened — they're relying on it.
To be clear about what I'm asking for: a refund of the "partial damage waiver" charge I was told was legally mandatory and which their own receipt identifies as optional.
This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced, both at the counter and in how they've treated a customer who came to them with a legitimate complaint. Do not rent from Zezgo. Not at any price.
This company is a Scam
This company is a Scam. You pay for a rental then get there and are told you are "required" to pay $16 dollars a day for sunpass whether you intend to use it or not. This is just on of the many extras the require. The longest toll road in Orlando will cost you about $4 dollars if you travel the full way. You could do that 4 times a day before getting to 16 dollars. On top of that they are very rude and because you are trapped there they have you with few or no options. Run from this company do not use unless you are prepared to pay three to four times the paid price.
Don’t rent from zezgo.
We rented a car through a travel ahency. . I never heard of zezgo but it’s Costa Rica. The car was old and worn. It broke down. Our second car smelled and was also old. The back brake started squealing immediately. I believe, renting through a better known agency is best for anyone renting a car in Costa Rica.
Horrible experience.
We rented with this company . Before arrival paid $200 and when we arrived they tried to make us pay an additional $250 for insurance. Then the worker said pay $1000 for the insurance and it would be given back once the car is given back. The worker tried to be misleading and tried to get us to pay the extra $250 and we would not get that money back at all. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! Once we returned home, we were charged $335 for a smoking fee, a week after we returned the car. We did not smoke within the car. We attempted to call the company multiple days and there was no answer. When we finally got in touch with them the worker said they have a video of us smoking within the car. We asked for the video, she then said they have a picture of dust. When asked for the picture none was provided.
Horrible forcing 500,000 usd policy for…
Horrible forcing 500,000 usd policy for Nissan kicks...its a Nissan ridiculous paying 360 extra for 7 days insurance i have full coverage for 2026 only paying 303. Never again there will be out of business very soon we, as a people must boycott this nonsense. Disgusting
Extra Fees
First of all, this car rental place is NOT at the airport which we were surprised to find out. When we got there by shuttle, we were told they needed to see our insurance declaration page. Was informed we didn't have enough coverage and had to pay an extra $200 fee. The guy talked so fast we barely understood him. I still don't know exactly what all we were charged for! But we were stuck because we needed the car. The car was decent- a stripped down Honda Accord. They don't open until 8am. We had to catch an early flight home so we ended up getting an Uber back to the airport. Would not recommend!
My experience with Zezgo was far below…
My experience with Zezgo was far below expectations. The rental process was confusing, communication was poor, and customer support was difficult to reach when assistance was needed. Instead of enjoying my trip, I spent valuable time dealing with issues that should have been handled by the rental company. A customer should feel confident and supported throughout the rental experience, but unfortunately that was not the case. I hope the company improves its customer service, transparency, and overall rental process to prevent future customers from facing similar frustrations.
All my tires were low on air
My tires were all low on air. The Zezgo shuttle never came to get us while other rental companies were coming back for a second and third time. They originally tried to give me a car with a broken side/rear view mirror control. Awful. They have all sorts of fees that make no sense that they added on before I could leave with the car too. Dangerous. Shady.
An excellent and economical rental choice
A very economical and quality choice for a rental vehicle in Vancouver, B.C. Off-site location but excellent shuttle service. Customer service was excellent and the whole rental business itself had a good and welcoming vibe. Highly recommend to others. In checking reviews on this business there were many that complained of difficulties with insurance waiver (for those with own insurance). We found this not to be an issue at all. But you do need documentation showing you actually have liability and collision coverage and not just say you do. This requirement is in the Terms of Service and should not be a surprise to renters. Complaints about being required to pay for 'mandatory' insurance are not founded and should not be relied on. Existing negative reviews concerning onerous insurance requirements are uncalled for and very misleading. Call ahead to verify insurance requirements. Rental rate for a small but perfectly adequate vehicle was 1/3 of what others quoted.
Easy process and very helpful and courteous staff
The attendant who checked us in and gave us the car was very knowledgeable about things like insurance coverage and tolls. They were also very patient as I requested information from my insurance company. Drop off was seamless as well. The car was a bit stained in the interior and scratched on the exterior but that didn't make a difference to us.
I rented a car from Zezgo in Orlando…
I rented a car from Zezgo in Orlando and had a very disappointing experience. Before leaving the counter, I told the representative exactly where I would be staying and where I planned to drive. Based on that information, I was strongly encouraged to purchase the toll package. After my trip, I discovered that the routes I regularly used did not require toll roads, so I paid for a service I didn’t need.
I felt scammed because it seemed like the employee was more interested in selling an optional product than giving me accurate information. It left me wondering whether employees receive a commission for selling these add-ons.
When I contacted the rental location to request a refund, the staff was rude and dismissive. Instead of helping me, they told me they were a “third party” and that I would have to email corporate. I found that ridiculous, especially since they were the ones who rented me the vehicle and sold me the optional toll package.
To make matters worse, before even investigating my complaint or providing any evidence, I was told that I could not receive a refund simply because I signed the rental agreement. My concern was never about changing my mind—it was that I purchased the toll package based on the information provided by the rental agent, which turned out to be inaccurate. Throughout this process, my concerns were not properly addressed, and I felt like no one was willing to take responsibility.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated. I expected honesty, transparency, and professional customer service. Instead, I was passed around, dismissed, and left feeling misled. I would encourage anyone renting from Zezgo to carefully review every optional charge before signing and not rely solely on the recommendations made at the rental counter.
This is the worse company I have every…
This is the worse company I have every seen. Long airport wait in over 100 degree weather. Long drive outside of airport. Clerks would not take my decline of insurance, and charged $1,000 fee encase of damages. Internet went out while processing paperwork and clerks are rebooting modems without a clue. Returned car full of gas and with no damage. Later credit card was charged additional monies. When I called customer care they said my car came back with less gas. I stated I filled gas to full and have a receipt. They declined to help. I had to dispute with my credit card company. I can't believe that Orbitz/Expedia recommends this car company. Stay Away from Zezgo
Stay away from this company immediately.
Stay away from this company immediately. Scam alert. My first issue—though not my biggest complaint—was that ZEZGO does not have an office at the airport; consequently, I had to wait over half an hour in the scorching Florida sun for a shuttle to take us to their office. Upon arrival, the person in charge tried to charge me $250 for insurance, claiming that my personal auto insurance required $500,000 in third-party liability coverage. I refused to pay the $250 and had to go back to the airport to find another agency.
Place is nothing but scams
Place is nothing but scams, beware stay far away from them. They will charge you way more than you are supposed to be charged calling it a deposit and insurance not matter if you paid it or not. Then the car it’s self they literally had glued the bumper on and it fell off while driving and tried to blame the damage on me. Then they charged my card again. They knew what they did when I called them out they got mad. I had to call an uber to get back to the airport because they were just horrible.
Zezgo does not deserve a star
If zero stars were possible, I would give them.
Zezgo at Chania airport is unknown and not findable. Not reacting to phone calls also the broker Orbit does not react. After 2 hours of looking and asking around we hired a car somewhere else.
NOT RECOMMENDED!
Follow up, after 5 weeks still no reply nor solution for my complained, according to Orbit, without reply from Zezgo, they told me that the agency was on location, but WHERE??
They make a fool out of me...
SCAMMERS!!
SCAMMERS!!! The worst of the worst as far as ethical companies go. They will force you into purchasing their insurance onsite, even if you have personal insurance that meets all of the posted requirements in the pickup office. The staff is horrible, the cars are not maintained (the maintenance required light was on at the time of pickup), and the unexpected costs that you will be stuck with are exorbitant. These people are literal criminals. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! Like seriously, don't do it.
I didn't actually take the rental car…
I didn't actually take the rental car that I rented because of all the underhanded insurance up charges they tried to add. I rented the car through economy bookings that was my first mistake. It took quite a long time to get picked up at airport then when we pulled up it's connected to a cockfighting ring and was not super clean. This was in Puerto Rico and I'm so disappointed that this is how my vacation started. The staff that I talked with were nice enough while telling me all the add ones that I had to have so I told them I wanted to cancel. They at least did it on their end while economy bookings did not. Very unprofessional company. I should have checked their ratings first but Ive had good luck in the past with different rental car places. Would not recommend
