Not allowed to choose your seats

We tried TA as the price was reasonable. However it is expected to be able to choose your seats when you pay $2500 for a ticket. So you are not allowed to change your seat unless you pay somewhere between $95-$195 extra.
This is highly frustrating as is uncomfortable and stressful to not sit in your desired seat during a 19h flight.
Won’t be flying with Turkish Airlines again.

Absolutely shocking airline

Absolutely shocking airline. Do not give them your money. Do not prebook seats as they frequently change the size of the plane and move you to an unwanted seat separate from your partner. They DO NOT always refund your money for this.We tried for weeks to sort this out but customer services are appalling and unhelpful. They eventually said we needed to provide details of bank account, credit card, passport details etc in a non secure email to get the money back…… Very limited drinks including water on 5 hour flights. Food pretty bad. Movies are old. We travel frequently and can safely say our 4 flights with them were our worst ever.

I don't think this company understands…

I don't think this company understands or cares about customer service and deliberately puts as many obstacles and barriers to avoid accountability.
2 months ago flight was full and we volunteered as being persuaded to give up our 4 seats in exchange for a night in Istanbul and 340.Eu compensation.
I am still trying to get the compensation, its harder than applying for a passports ! NEVER FALL INTO THIS TRAP DO NOT GIVE YOUR SEAT UP.
The last email they sent on the 31st after 3 weeks gave me 2 days to respond or they close the enquiry ?

I had purchased a direct flight ticket…

I had purchased a direct flight ticket from Istanbul to Panama with Turkish Airlines and planned everything about a month ago. I went to the airport with excitement and happiness. However, when I arrived at the check-in counter, I learned that my 14-hour direct flight had been transferred to a 36-hour flight with a layover in Colombia without my consent.

I asked the staff at the check-in counter for an explanation, but none was given to me. I repeated my request for an explanation, and they told me to check their website, saying it wasn’t their responsibility to provide explanations. I even offered to make a new reservation or purchase a return ticket right then and there. I was at the airport exactly 5 hours before departure.

The so-called Gözen security service is a terrible organization and a complete disappointment.

I am a YouTuber with over 250,000 followers on Instagram and YouTube. I have the right to freely travel and explore the world as I wish. No one can take away this freedom from me.

If I believed filing a lawsuit would bring a resolution, I would have pursued legal action. However, even after making numerous complaints, I do not think a lawsuit would solve the issue.

My first time on Turkish flying Bologna…

My first time on Turkish flying Bologna Istambul and then Istambul to Mahe very pleasent fly, staff friendly and food good. Everything was fine and i was very happy , also bought another ticket for my daughter different date and she also had a nice experience. Flight date end of october .The only down is Istambul airport quote exspensive shop….but in my opinion i rate Turkish 5 star , grazie mille!

I read all these reviews and still decided to purchase a ticket to fly with them. Don’t make the same mistake I did! I will never ever fly with them again!
My flight was delayed and I almost missed my connecting flight as a result. I was then screamed and shouted at by ground staff for not having an exit ticket out of Mexico! I did not need this as I had a visa! Ground staff forced me into buying a ticket that I am now struggling to get refunded. Left me crying in the airport at 3am and finally let me on the plane after showing a very expensive ticket that I DID NOT NEED! Threatened to deboard me if I continued trying to fight my corner! Their online customer service is just as horrendous!
Will NEVER EVER fly with them again

Got 600€ charge extra luggage

Come home for Xmas from Berlin to Thailand , I need to check in my flight with Turkey airline to connect my main fight with another airline

I have with me 1 luggage 25kg free check in , and another luggage I plan to pay for extra check in luggage
Turkey airline do not count extra luggage as a check in , instead they were counting the over weight by kg,

I have to pay 600€ extra for my seconds luggage with vomit feeling ,
I don't want to throw away a present I bought for my family

They guy who work at the extra charge counter service was so rude unbelievable this is insane airline , I will never again traveling with them in my future , this is horrible airline

Avoid 🇹🇷 Airlines if Possible!

Terrible airline. The airline keeps changing seats due to 'operational reasons'
You are informed on the Turkish Airlines app and asked to go to Manage Booking and you are given 2 choices: cancel or change flight. This is very confusing! This experience happened on both my outbound and return flight back to the Middle East.
I will try my best to avoid using 🇹🇷 Airlines again. The airline has expanded so rapidly that it is unable to fulfill its duties in an efficient manner! Avoid using Turkish Airlines if you can.

My flight was delayed

My flight was delayed, and I had to wait 6.5 hours in the special assistance lounge because I missed my connecting flight. The staff was very rude, shouting at passengers when they asked questions about their flights. They even treathened a passenger that he wont allow her to fly. They gave me a food voucher for one burger and a drink for lunch. The food during the flight was disgusting! Rubbish! The flight attendants were rude and didn't help when I asked for help putting my bag in the overhead compartment. I will never fly Turkish Airlines again!

Avoid Turkish Airlines

Terrible experience with Turkish Airlines. Frequent delays, rude customer service, and an overall lack of care for passengers. My flight was delayed, causing me to miss my connection, and I was forced to wait 7 hours at Istanbul Airport. The airline offered no real help—just a voucher for a Burger King meal. Completely unacceptable, especially for a supposedly premium airline. Planes are outdated, and the service is worse than most budget airlines. Avoid at all costs!

Most disgusting and rude customer service

Most disgusting customer service! I’ve been on the phone for a whole day and one guy had me in tears. The most rude people I’ve ever encountered in my life! Don’t ever book with them!!! Ever!!!! If you need to fix something you can’t, they tell you 7 day wait! This is a flight service and they talk to you like you’re a criminal! They have zero power to do anything! It’s the airline equivalent of Evri

Flew london to Istanbul ,
Flight delayed 2 hours, no information. When due to board everyone was just left standing for 20 mins with no update. Please was not cleaned, no headphones handed out, food was fine ……. I will never travel with this airline again.

PREGNANT WIFE AND CHILD ABANDONED AT ISTANBUL AIPORT WITH NO HELP

Avoid turkish airlines. I have used them got many years but last few years they have really failed their customer service. I am a frequent traveller from dubai to London via istanbul. But never again will I use turkish airlines. Becuase of their own internal issues they missed my connecting flight. Next flight was 6 hours later, I had my pregnant wife and young baby and they offered no support help or assistance on the day. They did not give any information if their so called world class airport in which nothing worked the way it was designed. They kept saying to complain online. So after this disaster I did complain online and they just threw some legal excuses say they have no obligation to compensate but failed to take any accountability for the many issues. I wash my hands with them and advise everyone especially when travelling with kids DO NOT USE TURKISH AIRLINES THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

I would have given 0 star if I can

I would have given 0 star if I can. I travelled with this airline on 10/04/2024 and suffered delay of 24 hours. The airline customer service lied about the situation and refused to offer compensation. I then submitted complaint to Aviation ADR and verdict is that I am entitled with compensation. The verdict was confirmed on 05/07 and the airline lied to Aviation ADR that they paid the compensation on 04/09. Till today, 11/10, the compensation still hasn’t been paid. SUCH A DISGRACEFUL COMPANY!!!!!!!

Complete bogus company

Complete bogus company, They get nothing right. I rebooked a ticket, paid my fees, and then got a call saying I had to do it all over again and was due a refund of 200 euros. But they could not do it immediatly, so I had to wait for a call, which they could not say when or what time. Have no idea what they will do. Already have a new ticket. Tried to call back, error in the system. Spent more than 2 hours on the phone trying to solve this mess. Site does not work either. Horrible unsettling customer service

NEVER AGAIN WILL I FLY TK

After being told that TK was an excellent airline to fly with, I was excited to try them for the first time. Booked Malaga to Sydney with good connections. Things fell apart when a month before my flight, I received an email saying the MH connection was cancelled. The website directed me to select a new flight option which I proceeded to do, only to get an error.
So I called and this is where the appalling customer service , and inept level of training started to show. I was told I could not reroute my ticket , but MH was no longer flying on that date, so rerouting via another city was the only plausible option.
Also, working as a travel agent for 20 years, an involuntary change means the airline can reroute, reissue, whatever they like.
I have never heard of an airline not automatically providing an alternative flight when they cancellation is their end.
3 weeks of calls and emails to customer relations only served to highlight how poorly trained their call centre team are. 4 days before my flight and I still had no valid ticket.
I went to the Berlin airport and managed to get one person who understood the issue and was able and empowered to fix. She rerouted and reissued my ticket on the spot.
However, the new flights , after taking 4 weeks to get sorted, now had an 8.5 hour layover in IST.
Nothing offered by way of compensation .
On arrival at Malaga I was told they could not issue boarding pass for the ANA flight.
During my 8.5 hours in IST I tried again and was also told they could not and also could not allocate me a seat. I was given a food voucher only valid at Istanbul Airports WORST food outlets only worth approx 15€ .
The service here at the airport was also notably rude and disinterested... Also a terrible experience that does not lend itself to wishing to visit Turkey any time soon if this is the level of customer service.
The food on TK first flight was barely edible. The second was an improvement. Onboard comfort was actually good , hence them getting one star.
But arrived at Haneda Airport with no one here to help check me in, select a seat, print a boarding pass so now I have a middle middle of a full flight after already travelling for over 24 hours with another 10 still to endure. I am beside myself .
Never again. This airline. Never again. This route.

Worst customer support ever.

I had an overbooking situation more than one month ago and still asking me for a lot of papers to give my money back. I think they are making it all possible to not solve this case. All people that commented are totally right.

How is Turkish Airlines still in…

How is Turkish Airlines still in business? What a despicable company. It feels like a complete scam. I am absolutely gobsmacked that this airline continues to operate. Trust me, they will never see my money again. EVER.

First of all, the check-in process was a nightmare. Getting basic information like my boarding pass and baggage allowance was confusing and all over the place. After a delay of over an hour, I had to catch a transfer to another part of Turkey. The takeoff and landing felt like the plane was being operated by a child on their first try flying. The loud announcements were so jarring they nearly gave me a heart attack every time. Everyone was holding their breath until the plane finally landed, and even that was abrupt and unsettling.

I had another flight to catch, and of course, the gate was closed by the time I got there. I had to walk for almost an hour, passing through borders and security again. When I tried to complain, they didn’t even acknowledge me. “You’re not the only one,” they said, as if it was routine for them to screw up. Luckily, my tickets were rearranged, but if you can’t deliver, don’t overpromise. If the flight wasn’t delayed with the same airline I would have had to buy another flight.

This airline is a joke.
