The app and website are both simple to use and the plan is very forgiving if you need to start over or adjust. Customer service is consistently excellent.

The communication and help is great. I love the ability to import transactions and reconciliation is very easy. Making a zero based budget is super important and they make it easy.

I've always been resistant to budgeting -- not because I didn't understand why it mattered, but because I could never get myself to sit down and DO it.

YNAB has made it so much easier for me to manage, partly because I can do a little bit each day, and partly because I was able to start out with a template, and customize it from there. It hasn't fixed my money troubles, but it has made them much easier to manage.

And I've been able to keep it up for over a year, which is approaching miracle territory for me.

I don’t ever write reviews, I’m too lazy, but if this helps anyone then happy to do it and hopefully this app can help whoever is reading this as much as it has helped me. Get the app and stick with it. there’s a bit of a learning curve but once you get the hang of it it’s a life changer. I would recommend watching some youtube tutorials before / while setting up - I watched the Nick True videos. Again, time consuming but totally worth it.

Using YNAB for the past two years has been a financial literacy learning experience. There is a learning curve to becoming proficient in using all that it is capable of, but it is well worth the effort. The app not only keeps track of my money, but it also forces me to think about how I want to use it. Every month, as I set up a new budget, I make value choices. As a result, I feel more secure and content about my financial life. I spend about 5 minutes every day categorizing and approving transactions and deciding how to cover overspent categories, if needed. My credit card transactions are categorized daily, and YNAB subtracts them from the budgeted category. If I stay within my budget, I know I can pay the cards in full at the end of the month. I have paid $0 on interest since I started using YNAB. Recently, I sold my house, downsized, and bought a condo. I spent some money on fixing up the condo and planning a vacation, but I still had enough left to cover the next six months of living expenses. Without the flexibility built into this platform, I might have spent the money on other things I value less in the long run. Customer support is excellent and easy to access digitally and in person. Overall, using YNAB has been a life-changing experience for me. I no longer think that it is an expensive money manager app; I think about how much more financially secure I am because of it.

YNAB is amazing and is one of the best apps on my phone. It has changed our finances and allowed us to anticipate costs, save for certain goals, and it is worth every penny. The tutorials available are super clear and the app is updated regularly.

I really like ynab but some solutions to simple formatting issues were obtuse. Assuming that ynab will continue to make improvements I'll probably be a 5 star.

The credit card payments never work as intended. I've watched countless tutorials and contacted support on three separate occasions and I keep getting the same useless explanations and advice. The worst part is, I pay my cards in full every month! That should be the SIMPLEST challenge YNAB faces when dealing with credit cards. Somehow my balance is always hundreds of dollars away from the actual amounts charged and paid Every. Single. Month. Even with everything linked and up to date, I find myself doing the "reconciliation dance" by removing money that was supposed to be accounted for. It's incredibly discouraging and I'm giving up on ynab. Back to spreadsheets, I guess.

We have a much easier time seeing exactly where our money is going and have been more successful and staying ahead and saving.

Good app, but after a year my bank balances are still not correct. I deleted the app and reloaded everything and it was correct for one month. Everything else on the app is intuitive and easy to use. I like that I’m able to approve and make notes on my transactions that are connected to my main bank. Unfortunately, my Paypal transactions are not automatically added for review. I am able to manually add transactions but I have a lot of PayPal transactions throughout the month, and don’t feel I should have to add them while paying a good amount for this app. If these actions are improved, I would give the app 5 stars.

YNAB has made budgeting easy and straightforward and stress-free. If I encounter questions or confusion in navigating the YNAB format I can watch related videos on the site, or contact Customer Service - they are prompt and very helpful. I highly recommend YNAB - it is worth the annual subscription for peace of mind.

Having some issues with accounts not syncing on a regular basis. Has caused some problems organizing my expenses.

YNAB changed my relationship with money. I used to really put a lot of negative pressure on spending so I was always depriving myself. Now I proactively decide where I want my money to go in advance so both saving and spending are easier.

My son told me about this app, even though I am a bookkeeper, I keep everyone elses books in top shape, but this has helped me out so much, that our financial situatio has changed tremendously.

Well worth the cost. Helped me organize my finances and keep from overspending. A place for everything and everything in its place.

YNAB has re-framed the way I think about money. It took me a little while to wrap my head around it, but I'm so glad I stuck with it. In reality, this approach makes so much more sense than any other "budgeting" approach I've been taught. It's actually simpler than I was trying to make it.

As a company, I am really impressed with YNAB too. They communicate in ways that are friendly and personable. Their emails usually make me smile. They don't make me feel bad about myself if I make a mistake. Also, their support team is awesome. I can always join a live Q&A, even though I'm not new to it anymore. No question too big, no question too small. I'm a big fan.

YNAB after using it for a year I totally get why some people chuck their hands up and download another simpler app. At its heart are several rules that if you don't get them it won't work for you and tbh im not 100% sure what all of them are yet 🤣 it hates when you don't reconcile your accounts and that will seriously mess things up as it just seems to make stuff up that messes up your balances. Its better than what me and husband had before and I am sticking with it but you do have to immerse yourself in a lot of YouTube videos to understand what you're doing. I think it could be simpler and it is still a bit American market but it links with most bank accounts and our finances have improved.

The overall site is very helpful. There are frequent issues with getting data from accounts automatically and the manual process when you are managing upwards of 15 different accounts can be daunting.
