Don’t buy from Yummy!

I filed complaints through the BBB and Texas Attorney General because I genuinely do not feel this situation was handled fairly. I spent over $1,100 on Raw Cambodian Curly Wave hair extensions from Yummy Extensions, plus additional installation and removal costs. The hair was professionally installed and became dry, tangled, matted, and unmanageable within one week despite normal maintenance and care. I contacted the company multiple times and provided photos, videos, screenshots, and detailed explanations regarding the condition of the hair. Throughout the process, I received inconsistent information regarding maintenance and product use. The company repeatedly blamed shampoo use and certain products, while their own website also references using sulfate-free shampoo for cleansing raw hair. They even sent me a screenshot that states “Please do not use shampoo on your hair extensions as it can remove it’s natural oils resulting in dryness and tangling” however again on their website it says you can use sulfate free shampoo to cleanse the hair. The company initially discussed a revamp/evaluation process, then later stated the hair could not be accepted for revamp because it had already been used. I was ultimately offered only a partial refund despite the product failing within one week. One thing that makes situations like this difficult is that many reviews and social media promotions for hair companies are sponsored or paid partnerships, so it can be hard for consumers to know what experiences are fully unbiased. I wish more customers felt comfortable sharing honest experiences both good and bad so people can make informed decisions before spending this kind of money.
I kept documentation, emails, screenshots, photos, and videos throughout the process because I wanted to handle everything professionally and fairly.

Honest Review of Poor Quality Hair

I have been a steady customer of Yummy since 2021 and have spent over $8,000. Prior to 2026, I only returned 1 item due to quality issues and have only 2 returns total since becoming a customer. I chose Yummy due to the high quality of their products at that time. The quality of Yummy’s products I have received has declined dramatically and I am no longer a Yummy customer. They do not appear to respect loyalty and sold me a defective closure. On Jan 30, 2026, I purchased a RAW SEA Wavy HD Closure for $195 + tax. The total for my complete order was $514. I followed their care instructions directly, even purchasing the brand of conditioner they recommended. IMMEDIATELY, the closure began to shed in clumps, tangle, become matted, and could not be combed or brushed through. I had three email exchanges with Riyan of Yummy customer care who confirmed the instructions I followed. I sent before and after photos to Riyan, which clearly showed the poor structure and state of the closure. My stylist is a witness and will be willing to testify should this become a legal matter. After only a few days of having the closure installed, I had to have it removed, losing the $195 I paid for it and the $300 fee I paid to have it installed. It cost me another $100 to have it removed and the install repaired. Riyan and Yummy have since stopped responding to me. When I did research on Yummy online, I found recent online complaints for the same poor hair quality and customer service issues. One complaint in particular confirmed my suspicions regarding Yummy “banning” customers who dared to request refunds for poor quality products. The writer indicated that when she complained to Yummy and sought a refund for her purchase, she was banned. Yummy did the exact same thing to me on January 4, 2026 after my second return in 5 years for poor quality hair. I followed Yummy’s process for a refund, returned the item in unopened and unused condition at my own expense, and Yummy approved the refund. After verifying receipt of the item back to Yummy’s warehouse, Yummy failed to issue a refund or communicate with me for over 3 weeks. I filed a complaint with PayPal and they banned me as a customer.

The weft was so tight I couldn't get a needle through it without breaking it! Then the hair clumped up on me so bad I didn't even bother to deal with customer service. They want a whole questionnaire filled out, just from what I hear is only store credit. No thanks just lost a repeat customer. I've purchased multiple times but it only takes one time to have a bad experience. Good Luck

Nightmare shedding

I spent close to $500 for their kinky straight hair, and I can not tell you how much it has shed. It has been less than a year since I purchased these bundles and I can no longer wear them.

Yummy Extensions is Superior Quality Hair

Good day I just wanted to write a positive review about the closure which you kindly recently replaced for me. It is the Burma curly closure. It is fantastic!. It is important to follow the instructions on how to use install and care for Yummy Hair. Since I have followed your instructions exactly, I have found the closure to be perfect! There is minimum shedding - it washes well - dries well - styles well - colours well. I’m absolutely over the moon and delighted with your hair and service. I also bought body wave and Burma curly hair. I have been a customer for some 7 years now. Yummy instructions ensure your hair performs as it should!

Superior product! Fantastic service!
Thank you very much.

Customer service is a joke.

The hair is decent. Customer service doesn’t respond. the shipping is crazy is a flat rate of $25 and we’re in the same state. Which is a ripoff. Even if I were on another state it doesn’t cost 25 to ship one closure. The cancellation process is a joke they will not refund your money nor can
you cancel the order. They will give you a store credit. Well I wanted to spend my money somewhere else. I won’t be ordering again. I’ve spent close to 2k in two months.

Disappointed with Curl Pattern and Return Options

I ordered the YUMMY Raw Burma Curly bundles expecting a defined curly texture, but what I received was extremely loose—basically a wavy texture. The name and photos were definitely misleading, and the hair didn’t match what I thought I was paying for. To make matters worse, the return policy is really frustrating. You can’t get a refund—only store credit. For the price point, I expected a much better experience. Disappointed overall.

Let me start my first saying I have…

Let me start my first saying I have been a yummy hair girl since 2020. Every texture that I’ve ordered has been amazing. I was looking forward to trying a new texture however, my purchase has been canceled by way of yummy CS. I was informed that my order was canceled due to potentially fraudulent activity. Once I reached out to customer service I was told it was due to charge back on my end. When I refuted the claims a couple customer care representative informed me that the chargeback email was an automated email, which I knew was a lie, I didn’t chargeback a purchase. I believe that the reason my order was canceled was due to a one time courtesy refund given to me by a yummy rep last year, because I would not get my hair in time for my wedding. Now that yummy hair reps have made a mistake through informed me the only way I could order was through a third-party merchant, which are accounts I don’t have (sezzle, afterpay, PayPal, etc). I don’t believe I should go out of my way to fix Yummies mistake. Also, I don’t believe I should have to pay full price for an item I purchased on sale. I have yet to get a clear explanation on why they marked the purchase as potentially fraud. The only response I received “priority is to ensure the safety and security of all transactions for both our customers and our business. Please purchase through our third party merchant.” How did yummy come to this conclusion of potential fraudulent activity? I have never seen or heard of a company doing random chargebacks citing fraud without some sort of explanation/investigation or without reaching out to the customer to confirm purchase. Citing the account/purchase as fraudulent activity due to a chargeback that didn’t take place is reporting false information/representation with intent to deceive, defamation, and asset misappropriation. It’s illegal! I am big on supporting Black on Businesses, especially during the month of February. I am so disappointed in Yummy! The hair is still amazing. Unfortunately, since I was “banned” from using my debit card, for what reason I still don’t know, I have to find another hair vendor. It’s been a fun ride. I guess this where I get off! Be blessed.

I ordered the raw Cambodian 14 16 18 inch all came up to about 450.00 the hair is trash, dry and has no bounce or original shine. I just got my hair done yesterday and thought that once it gets installed it’ll maybe feel or look better. Please don’t do it. Save your time and money. The hair feels like a synthetic and human combination of bundles. Terrible quality.

Don’t Do It… quality of hair has diminished

I purchased 6 bundles of the raw Burma curly. It’s nothing like the bundles I’ve had in this curl pattern before. I got the hair installed and within 2 days I noticed it was extremely dry, brittle and shed a LOT and felt more like the raw Cambodian. I’ve purchased both from Yummy which is how I’m able to do the comparison. I asked for a refund on the bundles and volunteered to remove my sew in immediately to send the 3 used and 3 unused bundles back. The company asked for photos and videos and each time I sent them they claimed they never were attached and sent several “care” instructions for the hair.
After explaining I know how to care for the hair and that I wanted a refund I was told due to hygienic reasons they couldn’t accept the used hair but would take the unused hair back for a credit.
I’ve been going back and forth with this company for a month now via email along with one phone call I received after I threatened to write BBB and contact the TX Atty General and was able to finally get a return label emailed to my inbox to ship the hair back. I did send all of the hair back and contacted my bank.
The bank issued a credit and a week later Yummy contacts me asking about the chargeback stating now they’re willing to make this right and will condition the used hair to get it back to its original state.
The hair was only installed for 2 days and experienced issues the original state is the problem. Don’t offer med/high luster hair and send low luster. Some people may not know the difference which is probably what the company is banking on.
I’ve lost $300 on an install and potentially an additional $1000 if we can’t get this resolved.
