Written by the company

I'm a coach for life, an author, and a mental health activist. I've written three non-fiction books titled The Egosystem, Own Your Life, and 21 Days to Live. I've also written a fictional autobiography titled An Incomplete Love Story, which chronicles the life of a typical South African Muslim kid as he grapples with the prejudices and social norms of his community. All my work is driven by my passion towards changing how we view and understand the human experience. If the mainstream view of mental health provided us with the answers that we need, we wouldn't be witnessing a worsening global crisis in mental health. This is just one of the many reasons that I have chosen to question the mainstream narrative, and instead, to focus on reconnecting with the human within. No pyscho-babble. No labels. No jargon. Just relatable truths that are universal in appeal, and transcend religion, spirituality, and cultural subscriptions. If you're not owning your life, someone else is. I don't approach any situation with a ready-made answer. Instead, I engage with a curiosity that aims to unpack the uniqueness of my client's challenges, so that we can seek to understand it better, together. It is through understanding that problems are solved. And it is through predefined exercises that crutches are made. Coping with life is never an option. Thriving is the only objective.

Coach Zaid

Coach Zaid, where do I begin. Not only was it a great and eye opening experience but it was also something I truly needed and didn't know it. My sessions with Coach Zaid were meaningful and impactful. He is truly a good ear and understanding man who'll not only challenge you but point you in a direction that is necessary. Going in as a young man only to find that someone my Father's age could sit down and talk to me on a level were I felt heard meant a lot.
His advice and guidance is worth more than a monetary value. I'm so happy I went to see him when I did. Every person's session with him will be different. Although emotional and heartbreaking at times, Coach Zaid made it easier to connect and talk through humour that wasn't aimed but rather used to lighten the situation to accurately convey what needed to be said.
All in all loved my experience and the advice and coaching was something I really needed, his "office" space being calm and peaceful also made the whole session feel secure and safe. I highly recommend his services if you feel like tou need to talk, vent, get advice or for any reason that you don't even know of yet.

AN INCOMPLETE LOVE STORY

AN INCOMPLETE LOVE STORY is eloquently written. Over time, the main character grows and evolves into a fine (adult) human specimen. It is an intimate read where the main character reveals himself bit by bit. The storyline inevitably kicks you in the 'feels' and it forces you to admit that nobody's perfect, but we are all trying, or at least, we should be. I felt the love, loss and misery, mixed with deeper notions as I read through the bold, colorful descriptions & captivating words. Emotionally it was very endearing indeed. An underlying, yet powerful reminder of the daily battles we fight with our demons. Truly an exceptionally mindful, literary fiction experience...I READ IT TWICE.

Life Coaching Without Mantras, Tools or Affirmations - Just Mindfulness

My sessions with Zaid always alleviated the heaviness that I found bearing down on me, stifling my thought processes or just the way I went about my day. Zaid constantly brings you back to self-awareness and mindfulness as a point of departure for all your actions and decision making . He helps to clear the fog so you are able to view life's experiences (the good & the challenging ones) through fresh lenses. I've experienced a sense of calm by the end of each session and for this I am most grateful. Sessions with Zaid is work in progress, constantly extinguishing my feelings of hopelessness and unworthiness whenever it showed its ugly head and replacing it with the reminder of my self-worth so THANK YOU to you Zaid Ismail for the work you do and MAY YOU FOREVER BE BLESSED FOR THE AWESOME WORK YOU DO...

It costs absolutely nothing to say u Sorry Zaid Ismail

I don't have words. I deleted my reviews and messaged Zaid to tell him why. I also told him why I felt the way I felt. He responded with hadith etc, some that weren't even relevant.

Then he told me that the prophet (SAW) said don't get angry and I agree whilst that should be how we practice our lives, in practise it's not always possible. He can't say he has never ever in his life gotten angry.

He persisted in calling me bitter and someone that doesn't want to be corrected and I called him on it. He didn't particularly like it. But my stance is if you can so willingly insult and demean another human being and then tell them that they are wrong or that you stand by what you say, then you should also be able to take criticism and admit you wrong.

So today he posted something on his Instagram page about parents and how we supposed to understand and accept what they did for us growing up. I read the comments. One lady disagreed and I replied to her comment and guess what? I was blocked.

It's fine I have reported him to the institute that he got his certifications from, with the voice note he sent me as proof and they have advised that they will report him and black list him.

So it is clear I'm not the bitter, not wanting to be wrong person. He's mirroring again. I mean in what world is it normal for a grand parent to cut her 5 yr old grandsons finger because he by mistake cut the landline wire.

Apologising for someone else's incorrect interpretation of my feedback would be disingenuous of me. I can only engage meaningfully if given the opportunity to do so. Social media and review boards like this are not appropriate mediums for such engagement and are not conducive towards understanding.

Given this line of work, it is inevitable that I will encounter individuals who are not ready to accept accountability for their contribution towards the state in which they find themselves. It is not my role or purpose to make anyone feel better about where they're at. It is my duty to assist them in understanding what it is that they do not realise is their contribution towards the problems that they are experiencing. This becomes ever more important when we realise that we can only work with 'the person in the room'. Therefore, focusing on what others need to change is futile because we have no influence on those who are not engaged in the process.

When we find ourselves incapable of solving a longstanding problem, it doesn't mean that the problem cannot be solved. It simply means that we don't understand the problem well enough. That is my focus with every client. To provide them with insights and observations that may be blind spots for them so that they can choose to rise above where they're at and what others may have done to them. I accept that this approach may not be palatable for all clients, and I also believe that there are many other advisors, coaches, therapists, and counsellors who may offer an approach that may be more suitable for clients who are not looking for what I offer. I hope you find an advisor that you are more receptive to in your efforts to rise above what troubles you.

It was a really great experience.

It was a really great experience working with Zaid Ismail. I benefited greatly from our sessions. We always know as individuals when the time is needed for some coaching or help in the right direction. It was much needed and I left feeling a sense of renewed energy after my sessions with him. He makes you see things differently and I left the last session knowing it was time to look forward to a beautiful future and most of all embrace the present. I also learnt a lot about myself through my own life experiences. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Zaid.

He has helped me with my healing…

He has helped me with my healing process. Doesn't let me get away with anything I need to take responsibility for. I think I am on my second year of having sessions with him and love every single one of them. Every time I learn something new and ways to improve my life. He is fantastic, consistent and dependable. I recommend him to all my friends and family all the time.

Life coaching with Zaid Ismail

I initially intended the coaching sessions for my 17 year old son. I booked the 30 minute session with Zaid, meet and greet and outline what concerns I had and outcomes I was hoping for, and it wasn't even 15 minutes into that session that I realized how much I needed this. How overwhelmed I'd been by certain things that had gotten me to feel stuck on so many levels. Zaid helped me to focus on the present, on what's in my power to change, and I'm working on not being my own enemy. Zaid is easy to communicate to, he has very good ways of getting you to see your truths. He is very professional and yet he creates an ease that made it possible for me to open up. He certainly has a gift at pinpointing the root of whatever the problem is. I am grateful for his assistance and pleased with my progress, my journey is far from over, so I will continue with the Life coaching from Zaid. Counseling, therapy, life coaching, it is whatever you want it to be, and it helps.
