I've had issues with the system doing double payments or renewing a membership with three new memberships, which causes a member to be charged three times on the same day. I am not too sure if I like this system better than others but it is what I have to use so I am dealing with it.
Best customer service and behind the scenes reporting!
We have been using Zen Planner since we opened in 2010. Zen meets all of our needs & their customer support is exceptional.
Zen Planner has great potential and (for the most part) great customer service, however, I had had multiple instances where I get ahold of someone for customer support and get told how to do something incorrectly, which is very frustrating. It is hard to know that something isn't set up correctly until it's too late. This has included items such as automated emails that get set up incorrectly, membership renewals that don't carry over correctly, etc. It is frustrating and there are definitely changes to ZP that I would like to see (example: not allowing members to book classes before they've paid). Overall I do like the software, but it is a bit confusing to use and it's frustrating when you're told to do something one way and then end up having to figure it out yourself anyway when it doesn't work the way customer support said it would.
Been a customer since 2011. Great customer service. Many options for my gym out there today, but this company has consistently delivered customer service, keeping me a happy customer.
In Australia there are a few features that are not there .. no texting options. You can’t get reports on body weight in one general report .
I think a lot if other companies have added quite a few great features which does have me thinking above moving as you are manly focused on your American audience . Customer service is good . Your services seem to be directed more at CrossFit then a normal functional training gym
Overall this works well for my business. I would love the ability to prevent a person from buying the same offer more than once (ie. 3 for 1 special for 1st-time customers). Right now a person can buy that offer as many times as they want if it's on the membership site. If they are a first time customer or not, and unfortunately Zen Planner does not offer an option to prevent that from happening.
But other than that it gets the job done.

I call support very often because learning how to use the software alone feels so overwhelming for me that I often want to cry at the thought of it. Every support call I've had has been TREMENDOUSLY helpful!! The customer service and care at Zen Planner is world-class, and I can't even imagine what running my business would be like without their kindness, guidance, and PATIENCE! Oh my goodness..the patience...words cannot express how thankful I feel for the patience that the support has for me while I learn how to use different aspects of the software, and while they correct many of my mistakes. I'd give a million star rating if I could!
I've been in business for 13 years and Zen Planner is by far the best scheduling software company I have worked with (and I've worked with a few before them). Their support team is the best! There isn't a time where they haven't been able to help me quickly and completely, whether it's been by phone or by chat. The onboarding was smoothest transition, clear communication and their follow up notes are always helpful.
Josh is my account manager is AMAZING and Zen planner has made a huge difference in our gym!! Definitely recommend the system.
In general, an OK platform and experience for the most part. When we have issues with features, or missing features, its hard to get the ZP support team to take them seriously - they tend to respond with 'not a priority right now', which is frustrating to us as customers. I hope that, as they mature, they will become more responsive to customer suggestions and comments.
I usually only call if I have something I can't figure out. Every agent on the other line has been amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. Very happy with Zen

They have a problem charging my customer's cards by mistake. This has happened twice this year. After all was said and done, they left me to explain their mistake to my customers. Very unprofessional. Also, the iPad app doesn't really work. It freezes up at least once a week. I would not recommend Zen Planner.
The system does what it was intended to do, when it works. Giving my clients the power to schedule online eases some stress--except when I have to intervene because it's not working for them. Online payment collection and document signing is also a time (and paper) saver.
Some days, I spend a load of time trying to get the system to just login.
There are some basic features that would make it more user friendly and there are some features such as the timeout reset (which is intended for security but if ill-timed, can undo any work in progress) that rearrange the way I have to work and this isn't always convenient.
If I hadn't invested the incredible amount of time in set up, I would move my service. I have done the research and have a back up plan. If these problems continue to compound, I'll sacrifice the time to save the frustration.
