service perfect, support mediocre. not much more to tell.. support felt like talking to a robot or someone who just uses pre-written answers - but it didnt really feel typical AI-ish.

I normally use LetsEncrypt certs through my main hosting provider, who decided to upgrade their system, meaning no new certs could be issued for about 2 months. After a bit of Googling I chose ZeroSSL and wow - such a GOOD user experience. Everything worked, all the steps were clear and easy to follow, I went from no SSL to fully configured SSL on 2 websites in the space of 15 minutes. Thoroughly recommended.

It's extremely difficult to delete your account if you have a paid plan. I deleted my account because I don't use them for the last two years but I still got charged. So I decided to delete the account. After I deleted my account, I dont' received a confirmation email that my account has been deleted. I wrote an email to them and no response.

Paid for a whole year but couldn't use it as they wouldn't reset the ssl

Needed a temporary SSL for my hosting…
Needed a temporary SSL for my hosting (20i) as the built in LetsEncrypt system was not an option as it required the nameservers pointed to it. The client had constant warnings on their AV due to the lack of SSL on the domain. The free SSL from ZeroSSL was generated and live on the site within 30 minutes and all errors cleared up. Happy developer, happy client.

Just Perfect
Easy to use, works as expected, free plan available to test the platform, paid plans are fine.

ZeroSSL False advertising and a scam
It's a complete and utter false advertising, it's not free, it's a 90 days free trial and if you sell your domain the new owner can't never use the free trial period for said domain, totally unacceptable and unreliable, let's encrypt should ban this "service" for charging for something that is already free and may be easily supported by ads and donors

Unauthorised charges
They do unauthorised charges and, when confronted, don't care to refund it even though I do not use or do not intend to use their subscription service. Normal subscription services understand these situations and refund clients
Highly not recommended

Misleading service
Very misleading service, claiming to be 3 free SSL certificate but technically for a year. Very misleading service. They count your expired SSL as one of the 3 given. Do not use this service.

Don't use it
It is fraud. It doesn't provide true free service.
They offer only 3x90 days certificates free of charge.
Yes, only 270 days certificates for free.
They advertise themselves so that they appear free for 3 domains. but they are not.
don't waste your time switch to it and then switch to other after 270 days.

A little trivia for you - ZeroSSL is apparently named after their average user rating of ZERO. Nothing works. Send yourself a verification email and in the 4 seconds it takes to show up it is declared no longer valid - endless loops of broken functionality ... what a piece o' ...

From what I have been using
From what I have been using, I can say that ZeroSSL is undoubtedly the first real alternative to Let’s Encrypt. It offers free SSL certificates with easy and reliable API and UI.
The best thing about it is the ease, you will have no problem in setting it up or keeping an eye on certificates.

I signed up with them to order an SSL certificate for my website. They charged $10 per month, but it was not so clear as to why. I tried to set up a certificate, but the verification process was very cumbersome, so I cancelled the process and got my certificate from DigiCert in 4 hours. I was unable to stop the $10 a month billing, until I finally found out that I have to delete my account to stop the billing. They have no downgrade to free option. My opinion is they are a 100% ripoff ans scam. Stay away. I paid these con artists $40 before I was able to delete my account. Screen print the Delete confirmation, to show your credit card company, in case these jokers keep billing you. Next time, just buy a rapidSSL certificate from your hosting provider.

it doesn't call free
it doesn't call free, they offer a free trial of 90 days. do not recommend it, this is just a wastage of time and it's a solution at all.

No longer working
Had a certificate stuck on verifying for the past year. Support were no help and even after completely deleting my account, I still can't get a certificate. Other reviews say you're limited to 3 free certificates now which is probably caused the issue but there are no error messages saying that. I've moved to Let's Encrypt and will never use ZeroSSL again.

You don't need to pay them ...
If you are willing to go through the motions to generate a new certificate every 90 days you might as well save the $10/month and just use github/crypt-le. Zerossl is a bait-and-switch operation, all the review sites claiming it offers free 90-day certificates are wrong or outdated.

Don't use this service
If you pay for this you're getting scammed.
Used to use this service when it was actually free and basically a LetsEncrypt frontend. Now they charge a overpriced monthly subscription fee after a trial period. Pathetic.
I now just use LetsEncrypt with Certbot (certbot . eff . org) on the command line to get free certificates.

This used to be SSLforFree
This used to be SSLforFree and this migrated to ZeroSSL, it used to be free forever for 90 days certificates, but since the migration, you will be charged after 3x 90 days with a minimum $10 per month. The support is unprofessional, you don't get an answer on your questions properly, as they know their charge is out of proportion. You can get these services elsewhere for $10- $20 a year, and that is then for yearly based certificates.
Of cause it could be that ZeroSSL made a mistake programming their website and accidentally calling it "100% Free for Ever", it still shows it there, but leaving it that way it is misleading, better call it "TRIAL period for 3x 90 days". With one single domain name registered they make you start paying after 3x 90 days, when the BASIC program stops
