Zillow took rent money out of my account, but didn't give it to my landlord
My landlord asked me to set up payment through Zillow so I set up an account and authorized them to take my rent on the first of the month. First off, they did debit my account, but it turns out that they had some kind of issue on the landlord side and ended up canceling the transaction. Here's the thing though, they KEPT MY MONEY. My rent isn't paid, it is now the 12th of the month and Zillow says that they cannot refund my money, that I have to go to my bank and have the bank dispute the debit from my account. The bank says that it now takes 10 business days to resolve the dispute [which is not guaranteed to go my way]. So...to sum up. Zillow debited the money for my rent, did not pay my rent [Zillow very well could have resolved issues with my landlord prior to debiting my account as I set it up with plenty of time for them to do so], and now says via email that there is nothing they can do. Has anyone else had this issue? Zillow will have my rent money for at least 3 weeks before I know whether or not I will get it back. On top of everything Zillow makes it near impossible to speak with a human being about the issue. Zillow is this what customer service has come to? And is it really Zillow's business model to hold money instead of completing my rent transaction? Life is hard enough these days. Zillow...please send me back what is rightfully mine and in the meantime send me a phone number so I can speak to a person about this and get it resolved.

Thank you for the best service you provide me, I was able to rent the house quickly
Terrible Search Features, Customer Service Won't Respond
When using trying to search for properties on Zillow for purchase (not rent), I wanted to filter the property type only to townhouses and single-family homes. It constantly provides me with condos and apartments in search results. I contacted them twice about this for help on better filtering with no response either time. I just don't use them anymore, and will not put my properties on Zillow for this reason.
I advertised my condo for rent on…
I advertised my condo for rent on Zillow rental manager and found it easy to use. All correspondence with potential renters went through their App.
The only major problem with them is with their payment system where the renter pays the landlord. They say it takes 3-5 Business days to get the payment but it always takes 7-9 days to get my payment. They say Banks don’t work on Sat or Sundays. This is the 21st Century people and computers do not sleep on the weekends. Use PayPal, it is 110% easier to use and you get your money within 24 hours. Take a clue from PayPal Zillow and you will get 5 stars from me.
Fraudulent
I've had bad experiences with Zillow. Almost every listing on their site is "off the market" or not a valid address. Just recently, Zillow listed a "condo" for rent but when I did further research into the address it turns out that it was an actual house that looked nothing like the picture posted. Also, I saw a listing on FB marketplace and contacted the person they tell me to just fill out an application on Zillow and that they're gonna check my credit. I asked if I could see the condo for rent, they say yes but after I receive your information. That's a red flag 🚩to me I'm not about to put my personal information on a site that I don't trust nor whoever the contact is. What happened to doing things the legit way. I'm all the way done with Zillow, Hotpads, Trulia, Zumper and any other ones providing false listings. Not worth my time.
I have been using zillow for more than…
I have been using zillow for more than 10 years never had a problem. I listed a new property and scammers got a hold of my listing housesforrent.com and rentspeed.com also cabin wall. I contacted zillow, crime stoppers and FTC to report scam. Sent them screen shots of the ads using a diferent phone than mine. If they really are serious a double step verification should be done by text. I had the same number for over 10 years. Sent houses for rent an email to remove the fake add asking for less money. I added to my add on zillow proof of ownership will be shown at time of lease in a legal attorney office. Zillow removed my account and now they want me to send a copy of the deed or utility bill. Unheard of. If they are really zillow my phone is verified by goggle. Have 4 more listings using a realtor company now. I assume they are running a scam now. Tried to call them I immediately got a person calling from california leaving a voicemail using my name when I never left a message, calls are forwarded to another number in California where homesforrent are based according to better bussiness bureau in California they have reports about both of them renting properties that are not rented anymore or owners are not aware of possibly they are a deal with the scammers. Not all properly management’s will be good
If Zillow believes they can let ANYONE AND EVERYONE post with them DONT MAKE PROMISES YAL ARENT ABLE TO CONTROL AT ALL - like for example; “$300 off fiirst month rent if you move in by the 30th-“-and it’s the 28th-. Company I ended up renting through said they needed a 5 day period due to a last inspection they do (that takes 30-45 min max). - Even after paying a deposit over a thousand dollars I STILL didn’t get a call or an email with an actual persons name-(I only got emails signed with company name)-
TOTALLY DIFERENT EXPERIENCE—
^ great way to push ppl into buying- I tell u that much-
* I apologize if I am TOO HONEST- I tend to over share-
God bless
Bad Business-Bad Customer Service-Horrible!
I advertised a condo for rent. Zillow cost me precious time and money, by not having my ad accurate, nor having any human communication possible to help fix the ad.
1. They had my property listed in wrong city and suburbs.
2. That had the wrong price on the ad. It was higher than what I was asking. Not good.
It took 8 days before anyone responded via email to my requests for help. 8 days!
3. They’d make a correction and a couple days it would revert back to wrong locations and wrong price.
Now it’s been on for about 12 days. I just looked at it , and it was listed at 1475, when it’s supposed to be 1397. Price change, by Zillow. Not by me, the Owner.
4. I tried so hard to contact a human. There is no way to do that. I tried. Even called Seattle company number. Was automated and no way to talk to anyone.
5. I’m utterly disgusted with this organization. Didn’t used to be this way.
6. I feel like they’ve got the market monopoly and there aren’t other choices. And they want people to pay for this service???
7. They cost me loss of time, money, and potential renters.

Great website
Great website! I used it two times in the last three years to find a home to rent. Love the feature when you can narrow down your search to a particular school district.
Beware
Beware
Beware of Zillow, there so many fake sellers there who will offer you house rent, I lost $3000.00 USD but luckily I was able to recover $1000 back through a recovery agent. please beware, if anyone has a similar issue, he can go through quicker. discovery AT dellj4001 DOTcom
