That zip van have stolen £100 of my money!!

ABSOLUTE LET DOWN!!
Hired a zip van to collect a bed. Agreed with residence reception that I could park outside whilst I collected the bed. I have an email to prove it. Parking Eye by mistake produced a parking fine. Zip van paid £100 fine and wont give it back!! That is my money!!

Not good

Tried to register to use the zippvan and couldn't do it and decided to cancel the registration process. When I checked my bank they have already taken the £15 charge. Asked for a refund bet declined.

If I could give it a 0 I would

If I could give it a 0 I would! Says you can get a van at anyone of their locations but actually you can’t! So they scam you into paying money that won’t be refunded for a service that’s useless. Needed a van in the Cambridge area but can only get it from London. Which means I’ll have to pay higher hourly rates and pay additional hours that have been added to my journey having to get the van from London. Don’t forget the extra 29p a mile I’ll be charged for going over 60 miles which isn’t my fault and they won’t refund me my money because it’s non refundable. They shouldn’t advertise that they have this service in Cambridge if they don’t! I did call to see if there was anywhere between but advised can only get a van from London and has to be a round trip.

Once was good, now terrible and rude!

My experience has been the same as others recently.
I booked a van to do a pickup. I gave myself 2 hours to resolve any issues that i had (I estimated I needed 1.5 hours).
I turned up to the van at the correct time and it wouldn't unlock. Zipvan told me it was 'offline' so I couldn't use it...
They offered me another van and told me it was 10 minutes away. It was nearly 30 minutes away, walking, in the heat. They told me they'd refund the booking and extend the other van to accommodate the problems. They did neither. So I paid full but was delayed by Zipvan themselves for over 40 minutes. I then had to abandon my plan because the van had to be back at the original time and I knew they'd fine me if I didn't get it back.
I explained this all to them, they declined to respond. Disgraceful.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service! I’ve used zipvan for 10 years and have always had a positive experience however my last two bookings have been terrible, the van was not where is was supposed to be, contacted zipvan and they gave me the new location, considering my booking was at 7am I expect the van had been parked in a different location overnight, zipvan didn’t contact me to give me the new location they rely on you looking for the van and then contact them. Surely there is a way to check the GPS in advance??? Customer service very unhelpful. The app is also rubbish since the updates. Zipvan get your act together.

Zipvan does not fulfil their promise…

Zipvan does not fulfil their promise from start. Could we trust them? It doesn't sound like we should. On their website, they advertise: "Join Zipvan for Free, Join Today". As soon as you register you're asked to pay the 19.50 joining fee. No customer service number available but an automated service, no real assistance offered. They do not seem to care about their customers. Probably wiser to stay away...

I’m really upset with this service - RIP OFF

I’m really upset with this service.

I was charged £35 for being 25 minutes late into the designated spot - my phone had died so I was unable to call/extend and notify that I was stuck in traffic.

My journey was originally from 8am-12pm (which I extended until 3pm) so the total cost was £135.00 (including the late fee) where as renting for the whole day would have cost £89.00???? Work that one out.

They don’t really care for the customers and are slightly money grabbing - my family and I can’t afford to do much for the rest of the week because of how expensive hiring the car has been.

Unfair late return charges

Disappointed with Zipvan service and unfair charges.
As a result of Zipvan changing my pick up and drop off location at very short notice they have penalised me for late return of the vehicle through no fault of my own. My revised pick up/drop off location was 1.3 miles from my house which made it impossible for me to get the van back on time as traffic conditions in the revised location are significantly worse. In addition someone was parking in the space when I arrive to drop off the van and it took time to persuade them to move. Please can you drop these late return charges of £40 they are unfair when it is fact Zipvan that is at fault for changing the drop off.
I have complained to Zipvan but have had no response.

Great idea.. until someone takes the space you should park in and it all goes down hill from there.

The Zipvan concept itself is great, and when we had to attend a conference with work it appeared to be a no brainer for how we could get our event materials to and from the venue.. however trying to return the van proved a nightmare, and I wouldn't use the service again.

I rented the Zipvan for 90 mins, and had it back to the space in 80 mins, only to find someone else had parked in the space (not a Zipvan/Zipcar, just some selfish person using the Car Club space) which isn't Zipvans fault as such, but how they dealt with it was appalling.

1) Started off with "I'll give you 30 minutes extra rental time as you are new to the service"... no you'll give me extra rental time because you haven't policed your space well enough to stop others using it.

2) Support didn't ask the reg number of the car in the space, or imply they'd try and penalise the person who caused the issue in any way.

3) Customer support told me to park it in a free space or in a permit bay... do they even exist in London? Certainly not many from my experience... and they're not easy to find!

3) Asked for postcodes of where I could find a permit bay or free space and was told they couldn't help me there, so I should "drive around" trying to find one.

4) Found a 'business permit bay' and was told I couldn't leave it there or I'd be liable for a ticket... again "drive around" until I find a free space or now *residents* permit bay.

Anyway 40 mins of driving a Zipvan around London later - keeping in mind I'm not from London so had no idea where to start looking for a free space or permit space - and 3 phone calls to their customer support later I finally found a space and got to go home.

Great idea.. poor execution Zipvan. Why would you not just have spare parking bays for this scenario so you can send users to a new space if this happens?
