I booked my first consultation with Simone at Wimpole Clinic, following a very positive feedback and recommendation of a close friend who recently had a hair transplant at Wimpole.
Prior to my consultation, Simone called me to let me know what to expect during the meeting, what documents and pictures to send in preparation of the consultation and he answered a few initial questions. I really appreciated the amount of time and dedication he gave me, even before my consultation. I felt re-assured and in good hands, since the beginning.
I then went to London to meet him and Dr Barry. Simone was totally honest that the surgery involves some initial pain during the injection of the anaesthetic, as well as some discomfort after the surgery. I found this to be a very honest and professional explanation. I was already aware of most of these details, due to my friend’s recent hair transplant. Simone was really friendly, clear, professional and transparent, without overselling or overstating anything.
Once all my questions were answered and after he covered pretty much everything from pre-surgery, surgery and post-surgery, he then called the surgeon, Dr. Barry. The surgeon came in the meeting room, he analysed my situation, he told me exactly how many grafts he could extract, how many options I had in terms of coverage and he started to draw different lines on my head, until we found something that was feasible and that I liked. I really appreciated that none of them was pushing me in any way to proceed with the surgery or to select a particular option. Even when I actually asked for some suggestion, they both told me that everything should be my own decision.
The surgeon then left the room and Simone started to cover the last topic: prices. He was extremely transparent, by showing me all the different quotes, based on the number of grafts. Again, I felt no pressure at all to “buy” this. Simone was probably expecting me to go home and think about it, because he understands that it is a big decision involving big money. He was then quite surprised when I told him that I was very happy to book the surgery straight away.
The surgery went really well, the initial pain was even smaller than expected. The whole surgery experience was great, everybody was professional and supportive. The surgeon was there, explaining every step and the technicians (Carolina and her colleagues) were all very nice and supportive. Simone supported me on the day of the procedure, before and after the surgery. He also checked in on me a few times during the surgery to check if I was ok and if everything was fine.
The aftercare he provided was simply outstanding. He was always available, every single day after the surgery. He contacted me at least twice per day, addressing any concerns and providing an amazing support.
The whole experience was fantastic!
There may be cheaper options out there, but you won’t get such an outstanding pre and post surgery support. The surgery itself was also a 5 stars experience and the entire surgery team was incredible. I will always recommend Wimpole clinic!
