Absolutely first-class customer service: personal, professional, friendly and efficient. I especially want to commend Danielle, who dealt with my holiday booking. It is a real pleasure to be able to plan a holiday with someone who genuinely cares about their customers and builds up a great rapport with them. Can’t recommend Newmarket too highly.

Superlative restaurant with fabulous food

First visit here. Had a wonderful three-course lunch, an excellent bottle of English rosé and a great experience. The staff were polite, friendly, professional and attentive.
Looking forward to my next visit there - one of the best meals I have had in a long time.

Avoid Nespresso at all costs!

Don’t go near Nespresso.
They used to be a premium product, with exemplary customer service.
Now there is none whatsoever. I’ve spent a total of three hours waiting to speak to a “coffee specialist” regarding a missed order.
This order was supposedly re-processed five days ago, but still no delivery.
Spoke today and was told it would be with me between 1pm and 2pm. Left note for driver (DpD🙄) who said there was no one at home and took a picture of some communal front door to a block of flats.
Need I say more?

Have also written to Nespresso because their live chat and WhatsApp links were both out of order.
Now waiting yet again in the vain hope of speaking to a human. Currently waiting over 18 minutes.

FAO Wayne at British Gas

I want to start with a positive!
The engineer who serviced my boiler recently, James, was superb. He also advised me that I’d been paying for two boilers instead of just one on my policy.
Sorting out the refund for this is where the fun started.
I was initially told over a month ago that it would take up to 28 days to get my refund (over £1,000) and I’m STILL waiting!
Unbelievable customer service simply trying to get back what should never have been paid in the first place.
Thankfully, after endless calls to chase this up, I spoke to another colleague today.
This was Sandra, who really seems to understand about proper customer service. Let’s hope my next review is more positive. Until then, don’t go NEAR British Gas Homecare. It’s more like “British Gas Couldn’t Care Less”.

Sandra, who I mentioned in my original post, seems to have the matter in hand. 🤞🤞
It seems the whole sorry saga has come about because the original colleague who processed my refund on June 3rd is away and so the whole thing is stuck until she returns.
I cannot believe customers’ refunds are held in limbo while an employee is away from their desk. Does no-one take responsibility for looking after customers in their absence? I am bitterly disappointed by the shoddy way I am being treated: if there is anything you can do to clear this totally ridiculous log-jam, I would be very grateful. I look forward to hearing from you ASAP.
