Worth every penny

I will not tolerate cruelty to animals. However, I enjoy and believe I am healthier when I eat meat. I am a pensioner but I would rather spend more on the best quality meat where I know animals have a good life, are healthy and well cared for than eat more meat. The thing is you really, truly can taste the difference. I now look forward to eating meat, rather than just eating it.

Exactly what I was looking for

I wanted simple trousers that I can move in with ease. I’m looking for something practical and, importantly cotton, that still looks good. The fit was perfect thanks to the elastene and they are so comfortable. They are slightly lighter than appeared on the website and catalogue but not to the extent it’s a problem.

Does the job I needed and looks good

I needed to get out and walk more, for health reasons. I needed a waterproof jacket with a hood. I started doing my research online but there used to be so much clutter. Then I knew what to do. What had I trusted for so many years? Land’s End! I found the perfect jacket, lightweight but warm, waterproof, with a hood and wind proof. I’ve had enough time to check its credentials and it is exactly what I want. It does the job I want perfectly and looks good!

I am so very glad Boots do deliveries

I am so very glad Boots do deliveries. I am in my mid-70’s and disabled so can’t drive and get out. I also can’t carry heavy shopping. Boots have been in my life since I was born and, apart from the Walgreen’s phase, they have remained reliable, trustworthy and have a fantastic range of items I need. I needed items urgently, they arrived in two days, in perfect condition. Long live Boots!!!

Took money, didn’t deliver goods

I had ordered from this company several times over the years. The quality and delivery of the food was always very good. However I ordered from them 29 Nov 25 and the delivery was incomplete, missing items valued at just over £28. Also the Turkish goats cheese came on a damaged, rusty tin and the Turkish Delight was stale (I am half Turkish so know how the food should be presented). There are no Turkish restaurants where I live, I am in my 70’s and disabled so can’t drive to relevant shops, so I rely on delivery. I live on the state pension so £28 is nearly a week’s heating for me. I tried to contact them through every channel, digital, phone, social media, chat but they have ignored me and phone gets cut off as soon as it rings. I fear something has happened and had hoped to understand why. However I don’t want anyone else to lose money this way and can only imagine this us bad business practice.

Great quality and range

Great quality and range of grains, dried fruit, healthy ingredients and seeds. I love sour cherries and big fat raisins in my scones and otter deserts (marinated in rum if course!) and theirs are the best. I have cooked my own food all my life and very rarely buy prepared dishes. It’s good to know I have a valuable source of high quality ingredients to eat well.

QVC has lost its originality

QVC has lost its originality. I can buy much of their offering either from the manufacturer or online shops. Often such retailers offer better returns policies and prices. Bring back the American designers but they’re probably too expensive. I’ve been shopping with them for over 20 years and, even to me, they’ve just got old. Cheap polyester dominates fashion, followed by acrylic, though I can find viscose here and there. I’ve actually tried to buy from them, but when I get the item, it’s overhyped and, disappointed, it’s had to go back. Their fabulous fake diamonds, Diamonique, is now cheap and very nasty. They’ve tried to deliberately target ‘modest dress’, a lady who dresses modestly doesn’t need to be told how it works! PS: I’ve just received an anodyne reply from QVC. It was as bland and meaningless as it’s offering. It actually came across as passive aggressive, it was a standard response and what it did in reality imply was that they aren’t really interested in what its customers think. Management knows best!

Where was this treasure hiding????

What a find! I love clothes (but not a slave to the dictates of fashion). I love cloths that make me look good but not scream ‘look at me’. And wearing clothes that make me feel good is paramount. Colour plays a critical role in this as colour can change a meh morning to a bright new day. Now I’ve discovered Kettlewell I can indulge my love of colour and wear what I want not what’s just on the racks. The quality is excellent and the fabrics have a lovely feel. This is now my first stop when I’m looking for good quality, well made and colour specific items for my wardrobe. I’m just cross I’d never heard of thrm before!!!

Wisp not fringe

Found via YouTube but checked out website which looked legit so went ahead and purchased clip-in bangs (fringe). Firstly I received no confirmation of purchase and thought I’d imagined ordering them. Many weeks later, a squashed package arrived with said bangs. The piece is laughable with sparse strands of hair which bore no resemblance to the lush fringe advertised on the website. The colour is very good and it is on an oval mesh base with a good quality clip in an appropriate colour. Despite this I can’t recommend it due to the sparseness of the hair in the piece.

Simple, easy process to get a wonderful wine

I fell in love with this wine at a restaurant but discovered it wasn’t available in the UK. I have never imported wine before (I’m in my 70’s) because I thought it was too much trouble. But the wine was so good I had to try. I cannot impress enough how good the seller was. The details given to a novice importer were incredibly clear and well written. I couldn’t have done better myself and my career was based on communications. The whole process was so simple that I’ll definitely do it again. So, if it’s a breeze for an old git like me, think how easy it will be for someone who’s in a hurry and needs a slick and fuss free way to get amazing wine!

Cooling and refreshing gel for delicate areas.

This is a delicate area to discuss but here goes! There are times when one needs to feel comfortable and fresh. We all get hot and bothered at times and a refreshing gel in delicate areas makes one feel cool and comfortable. The evil invention of office chairs, manmade fabrics and tights can be unkind to situpons. This fresh gel keeps everything cool and fresh. It's easy to use and leaves no sticky residue. It's very gentle and soothing on delicate skin. It's a great alternative to a bidet and far more practical!

Ridiculous current rating - excellent facility

I've just downloaded the Audible extension. I cannot believe the low trust level. I can only imagine they were written many years ago. Because many years ago, there were some issues attributing books to credits and downloading. But now the process is so slick and easy. I've been audible buying books since round about 2005 so know there were problems but they have been eradicated. The selection is excellent, the reviews authentic, you can get snippets to listen to. I cannot fault them!

I'd bought a lamp and couldn't work out what kind of bulb to use, it wasn't a standard bayonet screw-in fitting. I contacted them, I got an immediate reply saying they didn't have the information at hand but would contact the original supplier. The next day, not only did I get an email detailing what I needed but a link to where I could buy it! The email was so polite and helpful. It felt personal and not platitudinous AI drivel.

Simply the best …

I love meat but I’m very concerned about the environment and enduring animals I eat have a good life. So I reduced the amount of meat I eat. But I also love good food and good food starts with the quality of the ingredients, no matter how simple. This is simply the best meat I’ve eaten and I will not eat meat rather than buy it from a supermarket, regardless of Ted Tractor endorsements. You just can’t compare the quality. Buy from Piper’s Farm. You won’t regret it.

If it’s UPS, something will go wrong…

I’ve recently had two parcels ‘delivered’. The first was food, all well and good, then he asked me to sign something saying I’d had a teapot and coffee delivered. Needless to say, I had neither ordered nor had delivered such a parcel! Mystery. Secondly? I was waiting for a parcel. I am disabled and retired. I waited upstairs. My bedroom window, (at which I was sewing) is adjacent to the front door but one floor up. I live in a very small village, no through road, very quiet, and I can hear someone knocking on the door to the house opposite. I didn’t go to the loo nor was I listening to music, etc. at 4pm I came downstairs to see a note on the letterbox. Someone had tried to deliver but got no response. I have a particularly loud doorbell but find it difficult to hear the knocker unless I’m sitting almost directly above the door. Clearly someone claim but nobody knocked or rang. The parcel was delivered to a pick up point 4 miles away. I don’t have a car as I am no longer able to drive. I can’t get there. I have no one who can collect it as they require photo ID. I have no one I can sufficiently trust to give such documentation. I dread seeing UPS as a delivery company when I’ve bought something. Always something will go wrong.

The only way I can get proper Turkish ingredients and food

The order was of its usual high quality, well packed and delivered quickly. I have to give a shout out to the fresh pickles which took me back to a small restaurant in Bellapais where the lady cooked with vegetables fresh from her garden. Utterly delicious. I am so thankful I can get fresh Turkish breads sent to me in Lancashire where there is absolutely no genuine Turkish cuisine to enjoy. So I have to cook it myself. I couldn’t yo this without Turkish Porter.

I could have cooked myself a full and good meal in the time it took to get here.

I am disabled and can't get out this is why I usually cook my own meals. Tonight I wasn't feeling too good so I ordered a takeaway. It was supposed to be here by 6:30, which is a little late for me but it was either that or no food! During the process I checked on the progress of the order, three different driver names came up and then one chap who was supposed to be on a bicycle (I live in the countryside and bicycles are not practical here, lots of hills etc). He was on his way to pick it up for around half an hour. I'd checked with the restaurant and the food was ready and the driver had been informed straight away. I don't know how Uber works but not in a way that I get my food in a reasonable time (ie, other restaurants and delivery services). I don't by any means expect the food to be hot, but warm would be good. Stone cold isn't nice and takes another 15 mins to warm up (don't like the microwave), It may not have been the driver's fault, it is likely it is the Uber system. But it's the last time I'll order from eithe rthat restaurant or Uber Eats.
