Unbelievably Poor Quality Bulbs

Ordered click and collect 2 x 509T bulbs for my car for the heater control panel, a common fault on Megane 3s.
Wife picked them up and I decide to fit them. Except I can't.
They are so badly made the metal lugs that hold them on to the printed circuit board are far too wide and so impossible to fit. Both bulbs were the same; cheaply made. But on opening the second box I find the glass bulb part has completely separated from the base so entirely useless.
There is no option to post a review on the Halfords site to warn unsuspecting customers. You must wait for an email with a link to allow this. Of course, I do not get an email. They only cost £3.60 so not worth driving a few miles for a refund. Dear oh dear.

False Promises

Didn't read the reviews, did I?
ML Performance is owned and run by Marshall Lee who is also a director of 9 other companies.
Like almost everyone else, placed an order and after 6 days no notification or update. Contacted them and they don't even have the part. So I cancelled the order as the part is available elsewhere.
Unlike many others who seem prepared to wait for their refund, I will give them 14 days maximum then contact PayPal. I WILL take them to court using Moneyclaim Online if all else fails.
Mr Lee is clearly making a profit. Latest accounts for year ending 31 July 2024 show a profit of £289,669.

UPDATE: Despite promises of a refund it never came after direct contact with ML Performance.
Raised a dispute through PayPal who have refunded my money.
Absolutely stay away from this company and its sister one Xatrix who advertise a fitting service.

Failed to Deliver

I've been a customer since November 2019 so of course I place my order at 10.17 on Tuesday 20th January with first class post.
I ordered 2 items plus a bar of chocolate on order number 1588298153. Thortful then divided these up and gave the bar of chocolate and card order number 1588298158. This part of the order arrived on time.
The other part, a card on its own, was given order number 1588298155. This did not arrive on time and still hasn't arrived. So I went to the website and called their number, 020 8050 1462 which they encourage you to do. What a shambles. I chose option 1 as it was an existing order and the automated voice said someone would answer shortly. Then a male voice, clearly AI or recorded said everyone was busy and cut me off. Thinking this was a mistake I tried again. No its not a mistake, this is what they do to get rid of you. They are open 9am-6pm and I called at 4.05pm so no excuse there.
No doubt I will get the copy and paste response blaming Royal Mail - an easy out for them - but the fact is I paid for 1st class postage and did not receive it.
Curiously, 1st class stamps are £1.70 but Thortful charge £1.80. Hmmm......
And yes, I have contacted you by email but I wont hold my breath.

UPDATE: the card actually arrived this afternoon, at 2.30pm on Saturday 24th January. Dear oh dear.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, we’re really sorry for the frustration this has caused.

To clarify, orders are split by product type (such as cards and gifts) so they can be produced and dispatched from the appropriate locations and tracked more easily. This is why your items were sent under separate order numbers and arrived at different times. Postage costs are based on the weight of each individual parcel, which is why this can differ slightly from the cost of a single 1st Class stamp.

We can also confirm that we replied to your email yesterday regarding the missing card and are looking into this for you.

We’re sorry about your experience with our phone line. Due to a high volume of calls, we weren’t able to answer every call at that time, and we understand how disappointing that is when you’re trying to get help.

Thank you for raising this with us and for being a long-standing customer, we really appreciate it and will continue working to resolve this as quickly as possible.

LIARS, LIARS, LIARS

Liars, liars, liars. Did not check when ordering who the courier would be. Big mistake.
Email and text says parcel coming between 10.29 and 11.29am Thursday. Past experience says it wont. And of course it does not arrive. Check tracking and says delayed but still coming. LIARS, LIARS, LIARS. No chance. And it does not arrive.
Check tracking again and now it says 'Attempted delivery parcel refused'. Ah ha, here we go again. LIARS, LIARS, LIARS. These utter morons are off the scale. I was working on my driveway all day with CCTV as back up. No one came to my house.
Try to contact DHL but the automated system ensures you wont get through to shout at some hopeless advisor. I am cut off. So I contact the seller for help and they tell DHL to deliver today (Friday). No text or email to say its coming so check again and all it says is coming today. LIARS, LIARS, LIARS. Don't be silly, it wont come. And it does not.
So I enter the tracking number once more but now the number is 'invalid'. This means I will not get any further. So after raging at the seller for using the worst courier ever invented I try the tracking again. This time it works??? 'We will deliver the parcel on the next working day, Monday'. LIARS, LIARS, LIARS. Oh no you won't.
Do one DHL, you lying bunch of......

Update: 4.11.25 The parcel never came. According to the seller it is being returned to them but according to the tracking they will deliver tomorrow. Tomorrow never comes... Got an email from the seller to say that DHL told their warehouse manager this:
"They have confirmed, due to an altercation when the driver attempted to deliver this item to you, they are no longer delivering to this address and your parcel had been returned to sender."
You really couldn't make this stuff up.

Review of Euro Car Parts

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Going Downhill Rapidly

Having been a very long time customer of Euro Car Parts through my car repair business its clear there is something wrong with Euro.
While they have never been particularly good at customer service, these days they are woeful. And their prices are ridiculously high.
Last week I tried to buy a selection of products online but due to a fault I could not. The help provided by their so called customer services was shockingly bad. It was all my fault of course. The fault was fixed by the next day and parts ordered and paid for. Absolutely no apology or even a thank you for taking the time to send screenshots showing the issue.
Today I go online again to buy some brake pads. Sounds straightforward, doesn't it? But no. I enter the car's registration number, which I have done every year for the last 3 years, for its annual service. The number is now "invalid". So I try again and again with the same result. I then try different spacing (just in case) but still no luck. To check, I enter the number into the DVLA tax checker and it is accepted (of course).
Once again I have sent screenshots to Euro Car Parts but as is the norm there will be NO apology or actual help. I will be told to use a different laptop, clear the cache or use another browser despite it being okay at competitors like GSF, Autodoc, Opie Oils, Halfords etc etc.
Oh dear oh dear.

15.40hrs 8/10/25. Euro have now requested more details but they already have them with screenshots! Request No. 6051173. So far just an automated reply with the request number. I tried again to enter the car number and today it was accepted.

They Have No Idea

Looking online for 2 tyres, Asda Tyres were showing a competitive price for the brand and size I wanted.
Accessing their website and unfortunately my size was out of stock. No matter, I'm not in a big rush so I'll email them to find out when they might be back in stock.
I get a swift response saying, " Unfortunately as the website is live we are not made aware of stock levels I'm afraid." Pardon?
So I phone them to find out only to be told they have no idea when stocks are replenished because they have 'a lot of different tyres'.
You couldn't make it up.

Honda Never Respond

I ended up contacting Honda UK customer services after being let down by 2 different Honda dealers.
The first had a payment issue on their website when trying to order parts so I phoned them to let them know. It was all my fault even though Paypal said it wasn't. I completed their online complaint form and never received a response.
I ordered the parts from the Swindon Honda dealer but after 8 days heard nothing so rang them. The parts supervisor said he and a colleague had been discussing my order. So why not contact me then? He said 3 parts were available but one was not and would take another week to arrive. I cancelled the order.
I rang Honda customer services and spoke to an absolute idiot. Honda UK has no control over their dealers is what he told me. Downright lies so I asked him to escalate it and have a manager call me back. In what is now the Honda default position no one ever contacted me.
I then ordered the parts from a dealer closer to me and was told 3 parts were available but the other was in Belgium (Honda Europe) and would be here in 3 days. It was and the order was complete but no one took the time to call me to let me know it had arrived.
For a so called premium brand the service is just the worst.

Review of Animal Trust

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Unhappy Experience All Round

I phoned Animal Trust in Dewsbury to ask if they would castrate our dog Billy. They assured me they would and made an appointment to see a vet first. Met by an ignorant vet who loudly talked over my wife and I and refused to answer our questions. She told us they would not do the operation. We called 3 other local vets who all said they would do it and we had him done 10 days later with no problems. We never returned to Animal Trust and never will.
Around 9 months later in June 2024 Billy was put to sleep and we were devastated. So imagine our shock to receive an email from Animal Trust Shrewsbury on the 2nd of July this year to remind us that Billy had an appointment at 2.30pm with a warning that we would be charged if we missed the appointment. 1. We NEVER made an appointment with Animal Trust. 2. We have NEVER been to Shrewsbury in our lives. 3. Billy had been dead for over a year. 4. Completed the complaints form online (a huge mistake as they totally ignore you and their own complaints process). Animal Trust is registered at Companies House and shows the founder and CEO to be a vet called Owen Monie whose holding company has significant control. UPDATE: As I wrote this review I received a response to my short email (asking for the complaint to be escalated as I had not received a reply) from the area practice manager explaining what went wrong and sincerely apologising. This was the only good part of this experience.

Driver Taking Drugs while Delivering

At 4.25am on the 30th June 25, a McQueen's VW delivery lorry stopped outside a house in Batley, West Yorkshire to deliver milk. The registration number was SG73 XHE. The driver got out and delivered to the property. He then got back in the truck and drove up the road, turned round and sat there for a short time. He drove back down and stopped outside my house. This caused my dog to start barking so I made sure I reviewed my CCTV later on. The driver can be seen moving things around in the cab before he openly produces a 'roll up' in the form of a reefer. He puts it in his mouth and then attempts to light it. After several attempts he succeeds and can clearly be seen drawing in deeply. In order to gain the maximum effect, he cups the 'roll up' in both hands and again inhales deeply. He remains stationary for 3 minutes while doing this. Then he wipes his mouth and flicks remnants out the open driver's window (which gave me a very clear uninterrupted view) before driving off. Appalled at this behaviour I downloaded the CCTV and stills and sent them to McQueen's head office to H Korben who assured me that the company took this very seriously. I took this to mean the driver would be dismissed for gross misconduct. Today, 10th July 25, at exactly the same time of 4.25am the same lorry delivered to the same house. And unbelievably by the same driver. The footage will now be forwarded to the police (which I should have done originally but decided to give the company a chance). Prior to this driver, I have regularly seen delivery drivers reversing at breakneck speed up and down the street both forwards and flat out in reverse with the engine screaming similar to another reviewer just a week ago so it is not isolated behaviour.

Edited: following a request from McQueens Dairies for more information requesting the email address, I am prohibited from printing it here by Trustpilot's own rules. The address given was KorbenH@mcqueensdairies etc etc so I assumed the person was H Korben.
The email was sent at 11.03am Monday 30th June 25.

This kind of behaviour, if confirmed, would be a clear and unacceptable breach of both company policy and legal standards.

At this time, we have not been able to locate any correspondence to a member of our team under the name “H Korben” or find a record of the email you mentioned.

We have sent you a request for more information and urgently request that you please respond to this. Thank you.

Don't Deliver on Saturdays...

How any courier company in this day and age does NOT deliver on a Saturday is beyond comprehension. Amazon, Evri and others all deliver on Saturdays. Placed my order on a Thursday mid afternoon. Parcel dispatched Friday and having paid £10+vat, so £12 for 2 very small packets in one parcel, expected it to arrive on the Saturday as APC call their 'service' "Overnight". Following the parcel's journey and it was at my distribution centre at 7.15am on the Saturday morning. Oh wait a minute. So you DO work on Saturdays but not for customers. Parcel eventually arrived on the Tuesday. No live tracking available at ay time. What an absolute joke of a company.

Someone's Telling Porkies...

After more than 6 years of having to live with spine problems I saw my GP who sent me for an urgent MRI scan. I'd had one 6 years before and surgery was recommended but the waiting list was 7 years! I chose to put up with my condition until it got worse.
So now it has. The degenerative changes affect the nerves and result in pain, nausea, headaches and affected my heart rate. On occasions I lose my eyesight for a short time with white flashing lights and sometimes my speech is messed up and comes out all wrong.
GP did a brief examination and sent for an urgent MRI scan. Done in 2 weeks then another GP called to tell me nothing had changed and that was it. Only after arguing did he say I could call Connect Health for a consultation. I told him referrals were his job so he passed me on. I got an appointment for 2.40pm and changed my day to make sure I was available.
At 3.03pm my phone started to ring but cut off immediately not even managing one ring. Waited an hour but no call. The number was private so unable to call back.
Called GP and very helpful receptionist said she had received a message from them saying DNA (did not answer). They did ring but hung up immediately then claimed they tried my landline 3 times. We have never had a landline and been here 8 years! Told GP that I would now go on a 'waiting list' with no idea when I'd get a call. GP to call me within 48 hours with an alternative course of treatment.
Connect Health is a privately owned company and has absolutely no direct connection with the NHS (Google search).

Money Money Money Grabbers

As others have already stated, this group is out to make money. Abbey House Vets in Morley, Leeds are in this group and are just awful. And Linnaeus Group's parent company is Mars Petcare so now you know why they overcharge at every opportunity. Try contacting customer services at Mars Petcare or probably best you don't waste your time; beyond useless.
Given a quote of a maximum price of £415 for the procedure but not given any warnings of possible side effects or health problems. The final bill was over £580 without any consultation at all.
Took them to the small claims court to find all vets stick together and protect themselves like solicitors and doctors. They employ a vet to deal with claims against them and they bully their way at every stage. They even sent a barrister for the court case at £700 per hour to defend them in a Small Claims Court and who had already had a nice little chat with the county court judge before we even arrived at the court (court staff sat with us and told us what had been happening). We lost the part of the case concerning the failure to warn us of dangers from the procedure (as expected) even though the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons stated they were common, but the judge ruled the invoice total must not exceed the quoted £415.
Later we received a letter from the obnoxious manager stating they did not want us as customers and we were removed from their customer base. This is the only part we agree with and have now found the best vets in the area. However, Linnaeus continue to send us emails as we are, apparently, 'valued members of our Linnaeus practice community.' You could not make it up.

Zero Respect for Customers

Lots of emails saying they are going to deliver between 0830 and 1230. Checking their tracking site and all looks to be good. So I make sure I'm at home between those times.
Of course as you will all realise by now that never happened. By 1400 nothing: no updates why its late; no update when it might come and I now have to go out. Kept a close eye on my phone for the text or email that will tell me when it has been delivered. But no, far too much trouble for Fedex.
Check the CCTV and parcel was delivered at 1435. Now expected an email or update to say how wonderful they have been at delivering the parcel. But no. You can't be bothered Fedex so I will email the supplier (I use a lot) and give them one chance to dump these clowns or buy elsewhere.

Chunky Free Flow Tripe? You're havin' a Laugh

I ordered 12 x 1kg bags of 'Chunky Free Flow tripe' costing £42.60 and didn't read these reviews, duh.
Well, the tripe is definitely NOT 'free flow' as claimed. It came as a frozen solid mass that took 4 hours to thaw enough to divide up into 3 meals. Once thawed the tripe is definitely NOT 'chunky'. It is watered mince.
I will be contacting the Advertising Standards Authority and Durham Trading Standards over the false statements on the packaging.
The delivery was good so I'm disappointed the product is so poor.

The Food Made my Dog Ill

I ordered freeflow tripe and freeflow chicken to make up the minimum order for free postage so 12 bags in all costing over £100. The carrier is DHL who are very hit or miss.
The order arrived at 9am so the earliest to date. However, with the summer temperatures, yes, you've guessed some of the bags had defrosted. The ice packs were all at the bottom leaving the top ones with no cooling. These cardboard boxes are no use for this service.
Divided up a bag of tripe and gave some to my dog. This resulted in severe diarrhoea which lasted for 5 days. I have just managed to get him back to normal with 24 hour fasting followed by fresh cooked chicken and boiled eggs.
There is no point contacting the company. The Spanish directors who now run the company are clearly determined to destroy it so as to appease their parent masters in Spain. This is no longer a local trusted Norfolk company but a satellite of one of the biggest pet food manufacturers in Europe where paying shareholders dividends is all that matters.

Bad Attitude - Late Delivery

Ordered frozen food and manufacturer confirmed next day delivery.
Next day at 7am got confirmation email from DHL ecommerce saying my package would be delivered between 10.57am and 11.57am. So I made sure I was in well before just in case. I needn't have bothered.
DHL turned up at 1.08pm and the driver, East European, had a proper bad attitude. Told him if he didn't change it I'd refuse the package. He said nothing for a few moments then said he'd had an accident and that's why he was late. So why didn't you text me then? No reply and then he said he'd had a puncture.
On a par with DPD as the worst of the lot.

Hopeless Company - Don't Care About Your Pet.

We went to Jollyes for some Natures Menu 2kg bags of tripe and chicken. These cost around £8 or £9 each.
Opening the freezer and no chicken. My wife had phoned before we set off on the 20 minute trip and was assured they had chicken. They did not.
So I chose turkey instead and pulled out 3 bags. They were absolutely rock hard so had been delivered to the store, left, where they melted then much later placed in the shop freezer where they solidified. Sorting through them and all the same. Picked the least solid ones.
The tripe was better but some were really hard and solid. Got home and immediately placed them in the freezer.
Couple of days later took out a turkey bag to divide up into 6 meals. I had to hit the bag with a hammer to break up the solid mass. Opening the bag and the colour was pale yellow when it should be pink. So the turkey had been fully defrosted between delivery and going in the freezer and had gone off. I threw it in the bin as I did not want my dog with an upset stomach.
I emailed customer services. That was a mistake. Don't tell us, 'you have to go back to the store and take it up with them.' 'If you have any problem with the store then call us.'
No, Jollyes, that's not how customer services work. I am not wasting another 40 minutes of my life driving around because you wont pick the phone up and tell the store to sort out their stock management. Obviously pet health is not a consideration at the Snowhill store in Wakefield. But I have a result. Ordering 12 bags directly from the manufacturer, same price. I get free delivery. Order placed at 11am Monday and delivered 1pm Tuesday. And best of all? Not one was a hard solid mass of disgusting food.

Outstanding Service

A Google search showed Zooplus to be the best price for the Purina dog food I wanted. I did not bother looking at reviews and so placed my order. Amazingly fast efficient service and much cheaper than the Purina Shop.
I then ordered the same item around 3 weeks later. The price had gone up a small amount but with the service so good I placed my second order. Once again really fast delivery.
Then my third order went in and the price had dropped by £6 a sack so ordered two to take advantage of the price reduction. Order arrived just as before.
I really cannot fault this company. Highly recommended.
