Review of Morguard Building Surveyors

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent service - I will use them again

I am glad I chose this company to help me with the survey of my flat. It was slightly more expensive than the other firms but it indicated a more thorough approach.
Most other surveyors I checked came with very mixed reviews and didn't give me enough confidence. What I wanted was a personalized service, attentive to my specific needs and concerns. Someone I could talk to ahead of the survey to discuss my concerns, so that they could apply a extra focus on specific areas.
In fact, I was able to talk to the surveyor before and after the survey, several times, and he helped me a lot in thinking through issues.
I recommend this firm with no hesitation.

Bad behaviour from driver

For me the trip was simple and smoothness. However I would bring to your attention two issues:

1 - I don't understand why buying a ticket online costs me an additional 1gbp of booking fee. This is completely nonsensical. if I buy an airline ticket online, or a book through amazon, or any other product from a provider, I do not pay a "booking fee". I pay the price of the product or service and I pay transportation if needed. Your booking fee charge when buying online is a complete unjustified ripoff.

2 - your drivers suffer from a form of power abuse sindrome. The driver of the 4am coach Victoria station to stanstead on 17 July 2017 wanted to force a lady to put a small backpack in the luggage compartment. She had asked to keep it onboard because it contained a computer. The size of the backpack was tiny and it would comfortably fit in the overhead lockers. Other people were allowed onboard with much bigger bags. However the driver, strong of his absolute authority, and without any insistence or insolence from the lady, told her that because she questioned the placement of the bag he would not let her on the coach and she would have to take the next bus. The lady was almost in tears. Well this is not how I expect paying customers to be treated.

Reply from National Express

Hi Riccardo,

When booking a ticket with National Express, we charge a booking fee which is different depending on the way in which you book - for tickets booked online we charge £1, while bookings taken over the phone are charged at £2.

While we would rather not charge our customers any fees at all, we choose to charge a booking fee for a number of reasons:

It helps us to make sure that our website, payment and booking engines are as secure as possible for our customers. Charging a small booking fee also means that we can constantly invest in new technology to make sure that you get the best experience when booking tickets on our website.

For phone bookings, adding a small fee onto each ticket means that we have enough staff in our contact center and coach stations to process your booking as smoothly as possible.

Most importantly, charging a separate booking fee allows us to keep a close eye on costs and keep our fares as low as possible for our customers.

I would like to apologise for the experience you have with one of our drivers. We pride ourselves on the driving ability of our staff and obviously this is not something we condone. I will pass this on to the managers at that coaches depot so the driver can be spoken to about this and hopefully his/ driving attitude will be improved.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
