not processing refund, we are one month later

on 19th March I ordered a PlayStation 5. On 20th March it was delivered to me. I've taken it out, had a look at it, and had a change of heart that "I actually do not need this".
I have started the return process and on 21st March I sent it back. Eventually I've received confirmation via the Courier's App that the delivery reached the shop.
On the website, it's clearly written, that "You will then receive your money back within 3 days", but eventually on 26th March I received an email mentioning "Your return will be processed as quickly as possible. We aim to do this within 6 days".

"Has your return still not been processed 7 days after receiving this email? Please contact us."
I called them on 5th April and they mentioned because I've opened it and it's an expensive item, they cannot release the refund.
I called them on 10th April and they said that the case had been escalated and that if I do not get a call/email back by 12th April (Friday) it might happen the upcoming week (15-19 April, Monday - Friday). Guess what, NOTHING.
I called them on 22nd April, SAME LIE, that I have to wait for a week for somebody to contact me. The lady on the phone was even laughing at some point about my situation and did not want to collaborate when I asked to have the call redirected to the department in charge of this case nor with a supervisor/manager.

It's been ONE MONTH, and the whole process is terrible. Customer Support is terrible.

Great support, problem solvers

Initially the expected delivery date passed. I've contacted them and they send the order again. Second time it arrived successfully. I can understand that once in transit it's a bit out of their control. Nevertheless, I'm really happy regardless of the slight delay caused by the postal services.

Incompetence feels like home at Kijkshop.nl

I usually start my conversations with "I apologies for not speaking Dutch". As they confirmed they DO, speak/understand English, I'm blaming the whole situation on lack of professionalism and not a language barrier.
So, the website advertises that if one orders until 20:00, it will get delivered the next day. I ordered an espresso machine (the site said they have +20 in stock) on Thursday at ~17:00 and expected it for Friday.
The item was a birthday present for Saturday.
No communication came from them on Friday what so ever, so I called in the evening, to be told that it will not be delivered today (blaming Corona and not taking ownership). I said ok, can it be delivered on Saturday the latest? To which they were not able to confirm/guaranty.
No communication came from them on Saturday either, so I called them again in the afternoon, to be told that the order will be delivered on Tuesday. Now I decided to ask for CANCELLATION, which was confirmed and processing.
The bad experience continued for the next week, as they did DELIVER an order that I CANCELED, without any currier message/ no track and trace/etc. It just ended at my door around 12:30. After 16:00 I received an email from the store which happily confirmed the delivery.
I'm curious what would go wrong with the RETURN process because of course, I will not keep it, due to the whole experience (and mainly the fact that I order another on Sunday from BCC and they delivered the next day, no issues there).
LATER EDIT: Of course the return took forever. I called 16 days later, to be told that my money will be refunded in 2 days. Guess will have to wait two more days and hope for the best.
Again, in short, worst experience ever.

Thank you for your review. I have seen a cancellation request made to the warehouse. It should not have been said that it was successful, because the package could no longer be canceled. Apologies for this misinformation.
