We want to delete countries from shipping profles!

As a vintage and antiques seller on Etsy, I work with a wide range of item sizes and weights — which means I have to create multiple shipping profiles. I wanted to exclude France from my shipping destinations for legal and administrative reasons. Sounds simple? Not on Etsy.

Etsy refuses to provide sellers with a basic tool: the ability to block certain countries. The only way to exclude France is to manually input ALL other countries into each shipping profile - in my case, that’s about 190 countries × 12 profiles. Insane? Yes. But that's Etsy's policy.

Now, Etsy is threatening to send seller data to French tax authorities, while not allowing us to remove France from our shipping lists. What a way to treat the people who generate your revenue, right?

To make matters worse, their support team is deeply untrained. Two agents gave me incorrect instructions on how to remove a country - which wasted my time. Only the third admitted that it’s not even possible.

Etsy is making sellers jump through ridiculous hoops instead of offering reasonable, professional tools. Disappointing and frustrating.

scamers from tik tok

I used to believe that everything advertised on TikTok was a scam. So when I saw an ad featuring a messy-looking woman making bold promises, I thought the same — scam. Still, I decided to test it out for myself.

I entered my own phone number, and the site pretended to do some kind of deep analysis. Then it offered me the "shocking results" — but only if I paid €1. What shocked me was that they couldn't even correctly identify my mobile service provider.

This is just another cheap internet scam. Stay far away from it. They also seem to be using a fake review generator to post made-up positive comments and boost their image. Be careful — this is not a legitimate service.

3d animation of photos is poor…

3d animation of photos is very primitive and silly. For some reason, deformed ugly cats are constantly appearing, this application has put a 3D effect with cartoon squirrels on a painting with a fire. What is in the mind of your developers anyway?! Aren't you ashamed to sell such a service? It's as dumb, inefficient, and outdated as possible! Applying the effect to a photo takes a very long time. As a result, the user gets cats without paws, one-legged dogs and other nonsense on top of the original picture.

Why can't I turn off my native language when selecting subtitles?! why can't I make audio in one language and subtitles in another? I have to delete native language subtitles manually and it takes a lot of time.

Site is not well done

I run a small online business, and while I'm waiting for my business profile to be created (which can only be done upon request), I sent a package as a private individual. Immediately, I ran into the issue that the site doesn't provide an invoice, which means I can't submit it to my accountant. Yesterday, I spent an entire hour trying to find an invoice on the website. Today, I can't even log into my profile because it's asking me to enter an activation code (why?!), and even though it's been 15 minutes, the code still hasn’t come to my email. I don’t even know how to send the tracking number to my customer. I've been in online business for years, but this is the first time I'm dealing with such a poor-quality postal service website. Now I’m going to have to waste half my day trying to get this code emailed to me. And will this happen every time? I'm honestly just shocked by how bad this process is.

Bad description. Arrogant reponce

I paint furniture fronts. I am a beginner in working with alcohol inks. I bought epoxy resin and Pinata brand inks. The product description stated that I could use these inks for drawings on cured epoxy resin. To my horror, the inks formed clumps. Since the seller did not specify in the product description which solvent I should use with these inks, I had to do a lot of experimenting. I bought 70% isopropanol, 99% isopropanol, and ethanol. I studied many articles and video tutorials on how to work with alcohol inks, and everywhere it was said to use isopropanol. Every time the result was awful: dirt, clumps, sediment, bubbles. But it turned out that Pinata inks are some special ethanol-based inks! And they require some special solvents. None of this was considered necessary by Mr. Boat to indicate in the product description. To my repeated questions - why don’t you sell the solvent together with the inks and which solvent should I use for proper work, I received a very arrogant and unprofessional answer: buy other inks. And this is after I spent a small fortune on buying resin and inks from this company. The customer service is just terrible. I am very disappointed with my efforts that were wasted and the large amount of money thrown away just because the employees of this company are too lazy to ask the supplier how these inks work and to write a professional product description.
_____________________
UPD: After a lengthy correspondence where I had to repeatedly explain that I was using the inks not for mixing with epoxy resin but for painting on a glossy surface, I finally received the answer that I need to use Claro extender. Why this was not mentioned in the product description and why Mr. Boat sells the inks but not the only possible solvent for working with them is beyond me. If they had included just one single line about this in the product description, it would have saved me over 400 euros and spared me from this terrible stress of redoing my work and constantly placing new orders for their products and products from other suppliers. I feel exhausted, drained, and unhappy with the result I have achieved.

Hello Lala,

You bought the Pinata dyes from us (months ago). Apparently, you started experimenting yourself with thinners that were ‘recommended to you on the internet’.

Last week, you contacted us about that. My colleagues have been in touch with you about that every day. Yesterday, it became clear that you are looking for a thinner. We tried to explain to you, I think kindly, that our customers use this ink in a different way to the way you do and so we do not sell this thinner.

My colleague also immediately emailed you a link to the manufacturer's website yesterday. I don't see how that would be lazy or arrogant.

You have spent exactly 113.81 euros on more than 30 bottles of ink in different orders since March. Why do you keep ordering those if it doesn't work for you?

We are always ready to help with questions or problems.

In the latest emails, you have called us ‘unprofessional’, ‘lazy’ and ‘arrogant’. Our ‘customer service is terrible.’

The solution is simple. I would look for another supplier. For your convenience, we have already deleted your account.

Kind regards,

Frank Rademaker

Insurance is useless. Depressing unprofessionalism

This might just be the most DREADED ASPECT of my business: shipping parcels. It's the part that truly disappoints me and shakes my faith in humanity. Since the inception of my online store (now three years on the market), I've relied on the postal service Mondial Relay to send parcels to Belgium and neighboring EU countries. I've frequented this service because most of my Eurozone customers reside in Belgium, France, and Germany. Why did I choose Mondial Relay? Well, they offer tracking options, have reasonable service costs, their website is user-friendly, they collect VAT (unlike Bpost), and their office is conveniently located near mine.

But here's the kicker: after three years, I'm cutting ties because over the past few months, they've consistently lost, misdelivered, or damaged one out of every four parcels. It's become the new normal. One of my parcels is still being redirected to various incorrect addresses in France, and it still hasn't made its way back to me. I've spent an unbelievable amount of time tracking parcels, apologizing to dissatisfied customers, losing money, and watching my online store rating plummet.

Today, I've said "enough." Mondial Relay is not the company you want to build your online business with.

You are scammers

You are scammers! My package was in your warehouse for a month. During this time, you have crumpled and torn it up. Then my client received this package in an improper condition and I had to send her the same product at my expense. And after all this, you refuse to pay me compensation despite the photos provided! You are the most terrible postal service that exists in Belgium

It is impossible to receive compensation for a damaged parcel

They ruined my package and I can't get compensation. Because their support service requires me to send an 8-digit cipher, although their program only provides a 7-digit cipher. Their Facebook support service confirmed the 7 digit parcel number and confirmed that the parcel was damaged. But the support service, which communicates via email and which considers compensation cases, insists that only providing an 8-digit cipher will be a reason for paying compensation. I have my own online store and I regularly use their services. But they don't care about that. I will use another mail service because this company only mocks customers. (Belgium)
