By far the worst experience I have had for airport transfers
I travel world wide for business and pleasure.
I normally use 2-3 other transfers but decided to try Airports Taxi Transfers for my recent trip.
I booked a return trip home to Heathrow and paid upfront.
From home to airport, driver was 10min late. Unlike other services, you have an app to track the driver.
Driver texted me to say he was on his way. But didn't share his license plate, so I had no idea who was coming to pick me up. I had to ring him and he ended up 10min late with no apologies for being late.
On arrival, he proceeded to tell me his family's health issues, how expensive the medical costs were, and the agent taking most of his fees and wanted me to book him direct on cash basis.
I was very uncomfortable with his unprofessional discussions. He asked lots of personal questions about me, including that I look more like I am from another country than the nationality I disclosed.
I just wanted to get out of the car as soon as possible.
On arrival, he asked when I was returning from my travels so he could be my driver. I did not answer.
My return trip from Heathrow was booked for 10:35pm.
Normally by the time the planes land, I would receive texts from other transfer services to inform me that they are waiting at a specific meeting point.
However, I received nothing. So I rang both emergency numbers, and got voicemails. So l left voicemails on both land / mobiles.
From 10:30pm to 11:05pm, I rang over 30times, no answer, nothing from anyone, and no show of driver at all. After 35min, I booked UBER which arrived in 4min and I was in the car.
At 11:09pm, I received a call from the driver that was meant to pick me up. He said he was the same driver as the one I had from the previous trip. He didn't apologise and started to make some excuses about no show and that he was at airport, 40min late and no contact.
I wrote complaint department that evening and sent a detailed complaint the next day. It took them over a week to respond. I received refund for the 2nd trip, but the whole experience was unbelievably poor.
I will never book them again and return to more reputable transfer services.
