DONT BOOK WITH HOSTELWORLD! They lie and steal your money. I've booked and payed for a free cancellation stay in Thailand with k bunk in Krabi. There were only 2 options when booking, free cancellation and non refundable/standard. I bought free cancellation and payed more and payed a deposit. However, I cancelled and now theyre saying I bought a "flexible booking " because it says so in the email confirmation, but no where on the booking options were "flexible" even an option. I also checked the hostels conditions before buying (and again now after the theft of my money), and there are only free cancellation (no flexible!), and that I'd get my money back if I cancelled 48 hours before arrival. Now hostelworld is refusing to give me back my money for their mistake, and I'm getting a voucher instead. It's against the European consumer law, they refuse to show other proof than booking confirmation, but that is flawed and does not align with what I bought. Dont buy with them, they steal your money and don't own up to their own mistakes.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at! The owners and all the staff are so helpful and welcoming. The best atmosphere socially but also a great place if you want your solitude and peace. Lots of space, comfy beds and chilling out areas, and some of the most beautiful friendly wildlife come to visit. Undoubtedly best pool table and vibe in port Macquarie!

Easy booking experience, best hostel app out there.

The people are very kind and the beds, facilities are quite nice. The only reason I didn't give 5.stars is because it was very difficult to get in the bathroom but then again, it is a hostel.

From check-in to check-out, I had such a chill experience here. So much so, that I have decided to extend my stay further. The room rates are one of the best deals in Bangkok. I had a private room that was cleaned daily which I really appreciated. The staff were so kind and the other guests were so much fun to get to know and bond with. Many of the best temples are also within 15 minutes of Lemon Tree's location. Local convenience stores are all within 100 meters. The area is also peaceful and not congested with traffic. Perfect for a solo traveler like myself.

You always receive quick responses in a helpful manner. I think they could make it clearer before booking that the payment will have to be authorized by you instead of being taken automatically, and there can be long delays before you do receive a message or link to finalise payment. Locations are always excellent. Just remember to bring ear plugs for the heavy snoring. Prices are always reasonable.

Easy to search, check ratings, location and booking

Absolutely terrible company who put my family in a very dangerous situation where our lives were threatened and then did nothings about it. Didn’t respond, just got an AI bot to shut us down and wash their hands of any responsibility. We booked a hostel through this sight and when we arrived someone was in our room already. It was a private room for a family of four and it was very late at night. Managed to sort that, a mix up, not a huge deal. In the morning however a man took a dislike to us outside or room going to the toilet and started banging on the door threatening to kill us and take all our belongings. I phoned the manager while my back was against the door trying to stop him breaking it down while our two year old and four year old were in the room. They did nothing about it and we had to flee, literally run away. When I reported it to Hostel World asking for a refund of the deposit and money paid they got an AI bot to say because we CHOSE to leave we lose our money. We didn’t chose to leave we fled for our lives! Please never use this terrible company, don’t give them your business or your money.

Edit: I did get in contact with questions, if you had bothered to read my review you would have seen that. Another example of your terrible customer service.

Communication is on point

Booked a hostel through Hostelworld and found that booking.com offer significantly large promotions and discount. Although customer states I lodged a price match outside the 24 hour window I would disagree however I move on and accept Hostelworld do not want to price match. Compared to Booking.com for a Hostel, Hostelworld could not compete.

I stayed here as a solo female traveller and felt super safe the whole time🤩The staff are lovely, the hostel is clean, social and really easy to meet people. Such a good vibe without feeling too crazy. Would definitely stay again! ☀️

Hostel world makes booking hostels easy and stress free

I recently emailed Hostelworld about arranging a refund of a deposit that I paid for a booking (I was unable to stay at the hostel because of an unforseen issue). Many thanks to Hevandro at Hostelworld for providing assistance with this matter.

It was clean, beautiful scenery, Kevin and Jeff were wonderful on helping us with reservations and making sure we were comfortable!!!

Very easy to navigate the app and always wonderful information regarding the hostels. I have never been disappointed!
