The entire experience was excellent. From the quoting people, logistics people and the delivery/pickup team...it was excellent. They arrived exactly on the date we requested and were always on time. Highly recommended!!

Scheduling online was easy. Their rates were cheaper than others, and they had the 16' unit we needed. The delivery was ready a day early, which in our case was fine. They set the storage unit right where we wanted it placed. It was clean and ready to be filled. The delivery men were cordial and got straight to work unloading the unit. Pickup was easily scheduled online, and there were no issues when they loaded the unit back up.

1-800-PackRat has been the absolute worst moving experience of my entire 51 years! In the beginning I should have seen the signs when they Will give me different rates every time I called. Then we needed to have them delivered when we went into contract with a house but canceled it whenever we fell out of the contract of the house. They they then called me to deliver the units even though I canceled. That was a scary day thinking that all of my stuff would show up at a house that somebody else was moving into. Then A year later we need to move to the current house that we're moving into and the driver calls and said that he's bringing it to Hampton when we were moving to Surry! Also last year we burned up an entire day off off trying to get into our units that were supposed to be pulled out for us so that we could go to their warehouse and get a few things that belong to us. When we got there our units were not available and no one was in the warehouse. We spent the entire day walking around calling the numbers that were posted poking her head into offices shouting hello and hello and no-one was there to receive us. Fast forward to now, we have been in a hotel since the 5th because they did not deliver our units in in fact they delivered 2 of our units one facing the wrong way so our movers could even move things out of it 1 of them was not our unit at all and belonged to someone else and only 1 of them is correctly placed and ours! I called today to see what they were going to do to rectify it and and they said we're bringing all of your units tomorrow! I asked when they were gonna call us and let us know and they said they would call an hour before they showed up! I then asked them how they were going to compensate us for the nearly $500 we are out because of hotel fees due to their errors not to mention us having to pay our movers travel time to come back out. They offered us a $50 credit! When I argued about it the manager offered us $100 said that's the best he can do! Absolutely never never use 1 800 pack rat they are a complete waste of time and not helpful at all!

Dropped off container on day expected . It was clean and secure. Pick up and ship was on time. Delivered to our other location without problems. We unloaded in 2 days and requested early pick-up. Having a Depot in Phoenix, I thought early pick-up would be no problem. Right by our house. POD sat in my driveway 4 more days empty. While it was picked up on scheduled day, hoped for sooner.

Please do not use this company, this is the worst company I've ever dealt with.
This company and their partnering company Zippy Shell STOLE FROM US. We moved across the country at the end of 2021 and were told we had to use both companies to get our stuff moved. They assured us we had the only key to our lock.
Our pod was delayed by almost a month, and when it finally arrived, the lock didn't work. After my partner's dad cut the lock, we noticed our ropes looked odd. I had tied several bundles of ropes in our pod, and much of it was missing.
After going through our belongings, we found several thousand dollars worth of items missing. Items that could only have been strategically removed by someone with time, who was able to take a look around. Mementos from dead family members I will never get back.
Our pod was sitting in their supposedly locked warehouse almost that entire time, where it was supposed to be safe.
It's been 9 months of calling and them pretending they are taking care of it. And today, they told us our claim is denied and they'll give us $250. That's hush money!! We will not back down, but please don't let this happen to you.
They hire criminals and support them by letting it happen. They don't care one bit about their customers

Just no. Shoddy invoicing. Horrible with details. Fail to deliver services when it matters - can really leave you in a bad place when moving is hard enough as it is. Last thing you need is for the moving company to suck. Steer clear. UPDATE: got an email from customer service to talk about the REVIEW. Emailed back that I wanted to talk about the status of my move - and that email response to pack rat email was returned to me as a non working email 🤨

We have 2 containers with the company in Forte Myers. I was hold hold for or 60 minutes and waiting on chat for 10 minutes before I got cut off. Still trying to find out if their facility was damaged from hurricane Ian. After taking our money the service has been poor.

The Packrat experience was absolutely outstanding. The staff on both ends were helpful. Courteous and on time. This was by far the best option for us to move our stuff to our new home in Texas. Thanks for your help!!

It was very hard for the driver to get parked in our new place because the driveway was so short but he made it work and was very courteous to us. I also had no problem rescheduling the date of pickup. It was a plus to have the storage unit so that we could take our time loading and unloading it.

The storage container was dropped off and picked up when promised. The unit itself was very good and secure, and the billing process was very easy and much more reasonable than other competitors.

I called 1-800-packrat on 08-17-22 to get a quote. My son is moving from Fl. to Boston for college. The rep said they "want my business" and met the quote I received from PODS ($2250.00). I booked the move informing her that the pickup was from a home with a driveway, but asked how the delivery in Boston, a major city with parallel parking would work. She said I needed a permit from the city of Boston for 2 parking spaces to allow the 8 foot container to be delivered. When I called the city, they said this must be done in person. I had to work with "Permit Pullers" paying a total of $260 for a 2 parking space permit for 48 hours: 09-02-22 - 09-03-22. I called packrat on delivery day 09-02-22 since I heard nothing and was given a time frame of 11:45am - 3:45pm. At 5:23pm, I was notified that there was a break-down of a truck and my delivery would be "first thing the next morning". On 09-03-22 I called to get a delivery time and was told 3-5 pm- NOT the morning. At 2pm the driver called and at 3pm he arrived on the wrong side of the street yelling out the window "That's not enough space. You need 4 car lengths. You have to go to the warehouse to get your stuff". Then he left. I promptly called 1-800-PACKRAT and spoke with Melody who would call me back. At 5:45pm, I received a voicemail from Carlos who said, "They do need 4 spaces to park" also stating I could go to the warehouse to pick it up myself Tuesday. I returned the call, and spoke with Stephanie (Escalations) suggesting I go to the permit office on Tuesday 09-06-22 to try for a 4 space permit. I had a flight booked to leave Boston on 09-04-22. Ultimately I had to pay for the hotel to extend my stay 3 days, rent a U-Haul van, and drive 60 miles to retrieve my belongings (while also getting hit by a semi). Through these 4 days they called me once and made NO effort to work with me or take any responsibility for their mistake. I was only reimbursed for the unused permit $260. Nightmare is too weak of a word.
Update 10/06/22:
The company has offered me an $800 refund stating this is the best they can do and that it's "nearly a 50% refund". $800 out of $2250 is not close to 50%. But they want to placate me to avoid negative feedback and are not overly concerned with customer satisfaction. I have no choice but to accept this amount to help recoup at least a small fraction of all of my expenses due to them.

I called Pack Rat to check on a container that was picked up in May to insure it was at the warehouse. I had not heard anything from Pack Rat concerning charges for the previous months. Kayla was very helpful in solving the issue. A mistake was made on Pack Rats end they did not charge me for the previous three months. That is customer service to the nth degree. I am back on schedule with the monthly charge. I highly recommend Pack Rat.
