As a percentage of mountain bike performance upgrades, the installation of Rimpact to the front and rear of my bikes by far outweighs anything else i’ve ever done like better suspension or wheels. Initially i fitted Rimpact for rim protection on the recommendation of a friend who had researched and tried some other well known products including cushcore but had come to the conclusion rimpact was the best product out there given it’s cost, light weight and supreme performance. My friend was so sure i would appreciate the added performance benefits on top of the rim protection that he said ‘if you don’t love the rimpact inserts i’ll buy them off you’
Well that certainly did not take place because after a few hundred meters of riding the first time with the inserts at my local trails the smile could not be wiped from my face. I literally could not believe what was happening - It only took a short time for me to experience the incredible improvement in every possible aspect of riding including rolling resistance, cornering, climbing and overall grip. Turns out what i thought was the prime benefit of tyre inserts being rim protection has become secondary but in that department it does a moe then adequate job. I’ve been using rimpact for a few years now and touch wood, haven’t dinged a rim since.
Obviously the inserts allowed me to reduce my tyre pressure a few psi but even so the tyres hold their shape better then with the higher pressure.
It’s a rare occasion that i do a product review but feel somewhat a duty to tell everyone about my experience because you don’t have to be a dentist to afford this bike upgrade and out on the trails i tell everyone about it if their interested. My brother, my best mate and a couple of other friends all run rimpact in all their bikes and initially i used the line my friend used on me ‘if you don’t like it i’ll buy it off you’ Needless to say this has never happened!

Bought Rimpact Pro, delivery was quick. Too early too review the product but installation was much easier than Cushcore.
