Totally unhelpful, and I only thinking about money to line their pockets. Yes, after my employer paid for a course, which I reimbursed them for my employer decided to sell the company.I parted ways and able skills won't let me complete the course because they're saying I didn't pay even though I reimbursed my previous employer.
Think strongly before paying for something that never materialises read all reviews of this company.

Very informative class, well run and enjoyable.
I've just completed the introduction to plastering course.
The course exceeded my expectations with five days of intensive hands-on practical experience supported by the clear, concise and friendly instruction from our industry experienced tutor, Neil.
I'd happily recommend the course and look forward to spending more time at AbleSkills, later in the year.
I have just completed my Level 3 diploma and passed my 18th Edition at Able Skills under the expert guidance of my instructor, Steve Peters. He has a unique ability to bring humour, extensive experience and supreme talent to the role of instructor in subjects with extremely complicated syllabi.
I consider myself not only lucky to have had him as an instructor, but I consider myself to have gained a real insight into not just the theoretical aspect of electrical science, but also the real world application of a fundamentally complex and challenging subject.
I will be returning to complete my 2391 and commence my NVQ process in the very near future. It is a process which I feel requires skilled guidance, and I am grateful for the education with which I have been provided.
I would definitely recommend studying under this instructor for anyone interested in learning how to become an electrician in the future.
I recently completed the C&G Handyman course consisting of bricklaying with Simon and Martin, painting & decorating with Mark, plumbing with Jim and Mo, tiling with Jason and Gary, plastering with Neal and Jo, and carpentry with Dave and Paul.
All of the courses are incredibly practical, with the teaching generally consisting of being shown how to do the technique or task, then having a go yourself with the tutor(s) providing feedback, guidance, and additional instructions as needed. There’s no rationing of materials so when you inevitably mess up you can have another go as needed (time permitting).
The quality of the teaching was superb throughout. Everything was explained and demonstrated clearly, and feedback was always honest and constructive. When something went wrong, you were shown why and shown how to correct it.
All of the tutors are happy to answer any questions about their trade if you need tips on how to do things at home, even if it’s not covered directly on the course.
The courses are very well structured to build on what you learn each day and it’s incredible how much is packed into each course and how much you learn over the week. That said, despite how tricky some of the tasks and techniques are, and how much information you’re given, the workshops are a pretty relaxed environment, and it never feels overwhelming.
I look forward to returning for advanced courses and maybe some qualifications in the near future.
I've just completed my second course, namely the introduction to painting and decorating, which was absolutely brilliant. The tutor, Mark, was extremely knowledgeable, and always helpful and encouraging. We learnt so much more in a week than I'd have expected from a beginners' course, and I left feeling motivated to learn more. I highly recommend this course and the college.
I’ve just recently completed the city and guilds Tiling course which I had a great experience there. The main reason being the tiling tutor Jason was amazing showing me and every other student all aspects of tiling and techniques around different scenarios you will come across when tiling. I can’t praise him enough, it really does make all the difference having a great tutor. I would recommend able skills to anyone wanting to learn tiling or any other trade, thanks again.
Mode of teaching is excllent and lucid, Hands on practical impartation of knowledge is a top notch.
Great tutors. Ask as many questions as you like. Great facilities, overall great place to invest in yourself.
From the very begining, the Admin team (Hannah and Jade) have been fantastic. Super responsive and always answering emails in a timely fashion.
I am currently doing the 6035 C&G Level 2 in Plumbing Studies and my instructor and tutor, Mike, is of an excellent calibre. Super knowledgable and he knows exactly how to deliver training.
I would highly recomend Able Skills to anyone who is looking to train in the industry.
Really enjoyed the Level 3 Electrical Installations at Able Skills. Steve taught everything you needed to know for the exams and practicals including doing practise quizzes that made the exam structure easy to understand. He also related the content to real life examples so you weren’t always stuck in the textbooks. Definitely recommend Able Skills and will be back for further courses in the future.
I had a great experience at able skills while doing my level 2 electrical training
I cannot fault the Facilities and lectures effort towards my up-skilling.
I will be attending again when completing my level 3.
I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn a trade
I found the flexibility of the course was helpful in managing my other commitments. The friendly and constructive approach of my tutor has been motivating and instructive. As a result of my training I am working in my chosen field. It has been a great way to gain confidence and understand a better approach to painting and decorating.
Instructors are good with vast experience on their trade. Training areas are good and facilities. Friendly environment. Convenient location.
I was in the carpentry department where Paul and David have been exceptionally patient and supportive with me to get the most out of me. I am delighted at the quality and precision of the work I have produced thanks to them.
Thank you.
The Tutor @AbleSkills was professional and supportive throughout my training at the centre.
