The bank seems to have a minimum…

The bank seems to have a minimum payment of $37.00. No matter if you owe $70.00 or $100.00. Since I don’t know this I paid half of my bill ($35.00). There is not a past due amount on the bill. But they charged me a late fee since I owed them $2.00! They are absolute crooks. I’ve called and spoken to several
People that only read policy to me. They don’t know anything and are unhelpful.

I purchase a few "over-priced jewelry"…

I purchase a few "over-priced jewelry" at Kay Jewelers in Springfield, Ohio but for whatever reason, I agreed to apply for a credit card at community bank when I should have paid cash. Anyway, I decided to pay the full amount and I guess the payment arrived in Texas a day late. They charged me $30 late fee. For one day and paid in full. Now, they are calling me 4 times a day and leaving messages on my voicemail and letters with a $30 bill. I paid them over $4,000 for the jewelry and this is the respect I got. I called them and explained that I paid in full and just because it arrived a day late in Texas should not be an issue. The girl got rude and said, "You owe this money." I don't believe I do. I give money to people, $5,000 here $300 there and I do not expect it back. And to treat me like a person with no value. I'm not paying $30 to a Bank-Jewelry company that probably has a lot more money than me. I give them a 0 star if I could. Them and Kay Jewelers in Springfield. They have lost my business for life.

Deferred Interest Is A Trap

They just hit me with $1,100 in deferred interest. No warning whatsoever. Turns out I paid my bill a day late a bunch of times and they charged me $40 each time. That's completely understandable but I was never notified i was being charged a large fee every time. If I had known about the laye fees I would've made it apoint to never be late. Their $400 in late fees took me over the due date for deferred interest. Who the heck charges late fees for one day late though? Comenity, that's who.... I have every credit card there is and pay them a day late all the time. I have never been charged a late fee for being a day late.

I financed $2,700 and will end up paying $1,500 in fees. Over half of the value. That's predatory in my opinion. It really put a stain on our engagement rings.

To top it off I'm a long time customer of Kays and have spent a lot of money with them. My fiancé loves their stuff, and has a bunch of stuff from a couple different collections. No more Kays after this though.

Worst bank in the United States!

Comenity manages the store card for Talbot's - and an absolute nightmare to deal with. I have a $50 credit balance and they will NOT refund it. They continue to reference a .20 check sent over a year ago (that I never received.) They sent it again, I cashed it per their instructions, in order to get my $50. Now they insist I "received a refund check" and they can't send another.

Terrible bank--

Terrible bank--made a payment of $63.55 3/14/25--they did not get it until 4/9/25 & charged me a $30 late fee--now it is up to $63 on 6/2/25--I called a supervisor
& he said they gave me a one time credit in may for $15 (which never happened)
& he won't waive the $63 (which is only late fees & not for merchandise)-- never
Use this bank.....

Closed my account without any notification

I’ve had a retail card opened since 2009, I typically only use it once a year if that. This year, as I’m trying to build my credit back up they closed my account due to inactivity with no warning or notification. I would have charged something to if if they notified me. I asked them to reopen since I have never been late on a payment and I would use it immediately and they said no. They said they aren’t legally obligated to notify customers before closing an account. This hurt my credit because the was was one of my longest open accounts. They were unhelpful in resolving and basically just don’t care at all about their good and loyal customers. Would rate zero stars if I could.

Stay far away from these frauds

Stay far away from these frauds, I'm honestly not sure how what they're doing is legal.

I paid my balance off early, then for some reason they added a $2 charge to the account. Not sure why, because I didn't use the card at all after I paid initially. Because I didn't see the $2 charge, I was charged a late fee and now I owe them $78 for absolutely no reason. That's how they make their money, by stealing.

Also, if you're 1 minute late paying, get ready for at least 5+ harassing phone calls daily from 5+ different numbers and their bs automated semi-threatening voicemails. I got calls from them on a Sunday at 8 am. Funny, because their online system is always conveniently down when you're trying to pay, thus making you late so they can slap their fees on top of what you're already paying. They should be sued.

This is the most crooked bank I have…

This is the most crooked bank I have ever dealt with. I applied for a Maurices card at X-mas because they told me I would get 20% off. I got the bill before I ever got a card, but I could not pay the bill online because I needed the entire card number, not just the last few digits. By the time I got the card and made the payment it was late. (Not my fault, theres) They just added $100.00 roughly to the balance I originally owed. I just paid it because my credit is extremely good and I don't want these idiots to screw it up. Someone should do something about this bank. Never, never get a card from any of the stores they represent.

Horrible, horrible company!

I have 4 store cards with them, but until online payments became a thing, I didn't know that. It has been almost impossible to pay my bills online because Comenity is constantly getting my user names and passwords for the account mixed up! And when I am forced to make new passwords, it still tells me the password I just created is incorrect! Now a new issue has arisen: they are telling me that my bank account is locked, which, according to my credit union, is completely incorrect, and they wouldn't have access to that information anyway! When everything is paid off, if I can figure out a way to do it, I am DONE!

Horrible customer services and add fees for financial gain

🚨 Frustrated with @breadfinancial Customer Service! 🚨

I closed my account with comenity @Bread Financial Comenity last month March 2024, thinking everything was settled. Now, they’re hitting me with a $37 charge + a late fee—AFTER my account was closed!

I called customer service, amd supervisor and they told me "there’s nothing they can do" and to call the hardship department. Why should I have to jump through hoops for a fee that shouldn’t exist in the first place?

Come on,Bread Financial Comenity is
this really how you treat your customers?
Do better.

You Think Ross Bad The CC Is Worse

Worst credt card you will ever find! It would be easier to say what they do correct, much shorter list, than what they do wrong! NOTHING that's what they do! I shouldn't really be surprised because out of all the hundreds of stores to shop at what comes to mind when you think of Ross...messy, disorganized, can find anything, items on ground or in wrong place, etc. Now imagine Ross credit card...even worse! Hey don't take my word, open an account, see if you are not canceling card a month later! Complete useless people answer the phone, don't have a clue about anything. I'm not kidding, you could have an unauthorized charge in your card, they don't know how to help you, or the card was working but stopped, they don't know how to help, I could go on n on. I've never seen such incompetent, useless, brainless people working for a credit card co. It's almost scary...I called 1 time, said there is a charge on my card, need to dispute, someone must have used my card because I didn't buy a dozen kayaks in Delaware...the morons have no clue what to do. They must hire illegal alien, high school kids that don't care, don't know, don't understand, have I made my point by now. I'm not just saying they absolutely suck, I'm saying they still suck now because I'm still dealing with the morons. If there is a place to report credit card companies or banks I'm going to report them...it's THAT bad!! Waste of time, money, etc.

I made the final payment and cloased…

I made the final payment and cloased thr account almost a year ago. The customer service rep told me it had been closed. In November of 2024, I received a bill for $8. Magically this month (March) I received a bill for almost $300. They claimed that they don't know where the $8 came from but they cannot explain how i got this new bill. I am very upset. They are just terrible.

Just a Total Failure of a Bank

Set up Auto Pay with Comenity for my Dell Account (to receive no interest for one year). First time through failed, hit with late fee of $29, would not refund. My payment amount was for far more than the "min" amount. Re established Auto Pay, still failed. Same song and dance. Finally paid in full for refund of second late fee. Total Failure banking experience.

Inept bank

According to Comenity customer center. my bill is paid up. I have available credit. Yet my Unity by HardRock Comenity credit card is locked up/declined because I paid before the due date. And Comenity can not process fast enough. Go figure? Run from this inept bank and its Mastercard credit card.

No Authority

We have a past due bill. Just putting it out there out front. There are 2 people associated with this account - me and my wife. Within the last 2 weeks, my wife's ex-husband has received 2 phone calls from this company requesting that he get in touch with us to call them. The first phone call he answered and they threatened his credit if we did not contact them back. He has absolutely NO association with this account. They have been divorced for over 5 years.

When I contacted Comenity about this, the woman I spoke with was extremely rude, didn't let me speak, and told me (not nicely) that they had every right to look up people we are associated with and contact them. Oddly enough, his phone number is a cell number that is not published in any form as it is his work phone. The agent got louder and louder with me as I was attempting to remove his name from the account. I have never heard of this happening before. I plan to call back today to speak with management.

This is the worst bank of all!!

This is the worst bank of all!!! Worst experience ever!! I had a Victoria secret credit card with them, i had a fraud transaction that was made on the card of $500 by some health insurance. The bank decides not to notify me or anything, the transaction went through now its my responsibility to pay this!! If i didnt log in just to check my statement, they wouldve never notified me but are so quick to charge you money hungry bank!! Then i call and tell them why they didnt notify me they were sorry, sorry doesn’t help in this case. Then they tell me it takes 30-90 days to do the investigation! Now i will get charged interest for a purchase that wasnt made by me, they tell me yeah because the transaction went through and its their fault for not notifying me right, and now they decide to charge me interest for a fraud when the purchase wasn’t made by me. Then finally after a week later they find out it was a fraud , then i had to fight back for my money to refund me the amount i paid for the interest so it doesn’t affect my credit score. Worst bank ever!!!!!! People pleaseeeeee stay away from these thieves!!! I will never open a card again that associates with this bank! I also have an ulta card with them, I will stop using it too until it closes by itself. Comenity bank you disgust me to the core!!!! You shouldve been out of business A LONGGGG timeeeee ago!!!!!

Yep - banking gangstas!

Yep. Effing criminals at Comenity - who give not one sh*t about their customers.

Can hardly WAIT till comenity has no more customers because they've managed to abuse them all. HA!

Have AAA travel card that got effing downgraded to this criminal outfit from Bank of America - I no longer use this card after all the trouble comenity's bank has caused me with their totally INEPT customer service.
I always pay my cards in full ea. month to avoid interest.
Somehow though, after switching from
BofA to comenity -they managed to sneak in a few unexplained 'fees' here & there that their inept and NON-ENGLISH speaking 'reps' could ever explain WHY - nor bother to refund.
Then there was the ongoing issue with 'your password is incorrect' BS & many times over UNABLE to log in. Total frustration with their online system and their inept ill-equipped offshore CSx people.
THEN I'm told that after (I AM FORCED) to once again change a perfectly good password - the rep on the phone tells me I have to WAIT 2 weeks to log in again - for security reasons BECAUSE I changed my password! UNBELIEVABLE!
Well, I LOST it with this ignorant inept rep. Told him how inept and unreasonable he was being & asked for a supervisor. None available! So, I yelled out my frustrations - did I cuss -? Dont remember but I certainly did not 'threaten'.
Next thing I know this effing excuse for a bank BLOCKS me from calling not only ALL their AAA contact numbers but ALSO ALL Csx numbers for my Sephora card!
That was over 6mos ago - I'm STILL blocked from calling This card & my Sephora card for 'assistance' lol.

Had to WAIT 10 days b/4 I can log in AAA @ bread financial. I saw they managed to sneak thru a couple more 'fees' - can't call to ask why, bc I'm blocked - NOT that anybody would know what these fees are for, anyway.
I'm currently down to 0 on the AAA card - no 'fees' assessed for months now. They can't bc the card has been @ zero for many months
But this card has a very high credit limit that looks very good on my FICO. So Ive simply locked it. I do not need this headache and have NOT used it & never will again.
It's locked! and the sweet part is that I am NOT paperless on this card, nor my Sephora card - so every month comenity has to send me a paper bills showing ZERO balance for boh cards. And my very high credit limit which is not being used, is still on record @ experian, et.al.
Eventually comenity will cancel for non-use.
Ask me if I care :)

I'm writing now about the even WORSE fiasco on my comenity Sephora card that recently transpired - comenity managed to F up THIS card acct as well.

Somehow my many, many, written 'secured messages' to Sephora's comenity customer 'service' telling them many times over WHY I am separating from Using this card ever again @ Sephora - & my msgs got escalated to a higher dept!

How unfair & unreasonable their late fee was, DUE to their system's failure to charge my EARLY payment to a different bank where I had just input payment data into their system.

And their system FAILED to charge my bank. Yet comenity refused many times to waive a late fee - for a failed payment that was their fault.

It turned out to be a blessing that comenity had BLOCKED me fm calling Sephora - because I was forced to write secure messages to them - many times over just reiterating how their system failed - yet they charged ME a late fee.

I included the fact that their consumer ratings are the lowest of the low - even worse than Capital One. What a sham their 'we care about our customers' BS actually is.
I returned - on the last possible day MY ENTIRE purchase that I had I charged to this card @ Sephora 3.75 wks earlier - for a full refund. It was $$$ ALOT! ;))

I bragged about this FULL refund in a new message to them ;))
Let them know my return refund was to counter-balance their unfair $30 late fee - from THEIR error, that they insisted on NOT waiving.

So, I guess that someone in the lower teir I was writing to got sick of my ragging on comenity, repeatedly asking for my UNFAIR late fee to be refunded...

Because I got a nice reply, an apology AND a full refund of my late fee - from a supervisor in a higher tier -
AFTER my many written complaints got escalated to their department!

They assured me that comenity does value me as a customer & doesn't want to lose me.
It was almost as if this supervisor was from another dimension from a totally different bank - and somehow some wires got crossed and a new portal opened to a different, reasonable, caring comenity banking system ? ;))

Anyhow by some fluke I struck a cord with a rare angelic entity @ comenity - who may or may not still be there - IF their peers have discovered they actually refunded my $30 late fee -
God forbid, LOL

This card also has a high credit limit.
I've got it @ ZERO and will be locking it as well. But keeping it on the books ;)
Eventually comenity will cancel for
non use.
Ask me if I care ;))
