Pre-ordered a halloween box and it's my first ever purchase. I'm absolutely delighted and I'm so excited to read these. I would highly recommend recommend A Box Of Stories!
Definitely worth it!

A box of stories is brilliant. The goods arrive in good time, brand new in excellent condition. I have gone for crime and thrillers and the selection is brilliant. I also went for the Halloween box and those books look really good. I am so pleased I signed up for this subscription is has brought back my passion for reading books again. Thank you ABOS.

Just received this years Halloween box and what a fantastic selection!

This company has a great environmentally conscious mission to highlight underrated authors and save books from landfill. Their prices are really reasonable, making them very accessable for all budgets. All of my experiences with their customer service team have been amazing, they've worked hard to solve problems quickly and effectively. They take onboard customer suggestions and don't send too many emails. Overall I couldn't be happier with my subscription.

Great variety of books which are a surprise and a treat to open. New undiscovered authors and some that I have read before but not explored their other books. Takes away the stress and overwhelm of searching for books yourself when faced with a lot of choice.

Update on 16th Sept: after discussing with them following this review I’m happy to say that the company finally rectified the situation and sent me my missing box.

There are still issues with their responsiveness via email/chat to much frustration, but once you do manage to get hold of them they will rectify the situation.

Sadly this has gone from 5 star to 1. I'm not on subscription, but randomly order as I loved the concept.

Ordered two boxes on 11th August. One arrived by RM a week later. The other didn't.

Emailed Tues after and told I'd get a response in 2 working days. No response received so Friday I sent a follow up email and chat message which was finally answered after a number of hours, telling me the box would be with me on the following Friday.

Now the following Friday postman's been, no box. Opened chat and requested and update and it's just sitting there unanswered hours later (yes it's showing as live). Another email sent.

At this point I'm not sure if I'm even getting my other box or if the money's just been taken and now I'll be ignored. This is not what I expected.

Promised delivery date has well passed, and Royal mail still haven't received the order from BoS to deliver in the first place. This was meant to be a mothers day present, now there is no present to give. Bad experience and bad communication. If an order is postponed let the paying customer know about it!

I really did like this company at first but now I’ve cancelled my membership due to having to chase chase chase them over my new box.
I paid and then they emailed me to say ‘enjoy your stories, we’ve delivered your item’
Nothing had arrived. I had to chase them to find out their system had crashed and my money had been taken but no order had been produced.
So two weeks later and still no item, not happy at having to pay postage for something that hasn’t yet arrived two weeks later.
Unfortunately this will be my last box as I’ve lost all confidence in them which is a shame.

I have been getting boxes for over three years, started with mixed fiction and have changed to light reads.
I always get books I have never read and would never pick up in a shop, so it's a good surprise each time.
The flexibility of being able to adjust the frequency of delivery is great so if I am having a slow reading month this works well.
The ethos of the box is excellent, and attracted me to the subscription and I pass all the books on once read to friends or local charities so they get read again, not sat on a shelf.
I only had one minor issue at the start and had a call from Aasha personally, who sorted me out straight away, I'd accidentally ordered a one off box but thought I'd set up a subscription, so she talked me through how to do it.
Have bought gift boxes for family, and friends have also signed up after I'd told them about ABOS.
Like linking with good reads as well so I don't get anything I've read before.
Looking forward to my next box due this month, ready to take on holiday

If you're looking for a new book to read, you won't be disappointed with this store - each item I've purchased has been of the highest quality and provided hours of entertainment.

These guys are brill!!

I’m an avid reader so I went I to this expecting to get books I’d already read within my boxes. The price (including delivery!) meant that that was a risk I was happy to take - just pass on a good book to a friend.

In fact, this has happened twice in all the time I’ve subscribed - about two years, it must be now - so even for me this subscription represents a great opportunity for me to acquire books I wouldn’t ordinarily come across. I’ve only received a couple on all this time that I’ve felt I wouldn’t read and passed on.

The customer service is excellent and there’s usually a hardback in the box, making it even better value for money.

If you love books you’ll love this. I had to limit myself to one regular box because of lack of storage space but if I could I’d subscribe to them all!!

Give it a go; get it for friends or kids or your difficult-to-please mother-in-law!! You won’t regret it!

I recently came across A Box Of Stories through advertisement and was extremely interested.
I looked through the website and seen that they have fantastic range of books on offer with different genres for a book you want!
I decided to go with the “mixed books” subscription and I couldn’t be happier with the four great titles I have received.
I think the idea and general idea of the company and subscription of books is great as I am biased and will stick to the same type of genre. This way, I am broadening my horizons and am able to venture into a new genre each time!
It is definitely worth the money for the quality of the books you receive.

I bought 2 gift cards for my sister in law and brother in law for their birthdays , they were both thrilled .I love this idea and the customer service is amazing !

I have been signed up with box of stories for over a year now and can honestly say I love it! The variety of books and the excitement I get from opening the boxes is indescribable. If your a reader or know someone who is I would highly recommend.

I have loved receiving the variety of books in the post, I always stick to crime novels so it is nice to have something else to read. I recently changed my subscription and they were accommodating to my needs with a quick response. Would recommend them to others.

Buying from this local bookstore is always a delight. It is an opportunity that far too few people presently have.
