Their subscription system is a mess, DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!
Their subscription system is a mess. I subscribed via their podcast thinking that I would have access to their video content but the system is so old and buggy, I was told by customer service that there is nothing they can do so basically they expect me to spend another $59.99 so I can watch the videos. Chloe from customer service was very unhelpful and dismissive. If you subscribe via their video content, you will have to jump through hoops to listen to their podcasts as a subscriber. You will have to copy/paste urls like it is 1980. Do not waste your money. You are going to LOSE $59.99 like I did.

Terrible
Terrible. I signed up in December and never received an email despite being charged. I wrote support and they were confused…then just stopped writing me. But, they never stopped charging me. I logged into my account in December and removed my card. It’s March, and I discovered they are somehow still charging me for a service I could never use. Absolutely terrible.

Got Me Going In Circles
The app is extremely archaic and runs the user in circles to Subscribe, Restore Subscription, and locked content. Login failed, yet the subscription was confirmed, and I was logged in on the TV and the Browser. Login and Subscription circles, locked content even after subscription is extremely frustrating. I wish I could watch the content I just purchased. I put in a support ticket, but I hear that History Hit has horrible customer service and lag times. We'll see what happens.

Really disappointed so far
Really disappointed so far. I purchased the yearly subscription and we were looking forward to having lots of extra history content. Unfortunately, I never received a confirmation email of purchase (I purchased directly through history hit not through another platform like apple or Amazon). I had an initial email asking about the email address, and where I purchased the subscription 10 days ago. However, since then it’s been silence with no further correspondence being given a response. Proof of purchase has been sent I don’t know what else I can do. The lack of customer service has been shocking. Very disappointing!

I want to love history hit so badly
I want to love history hit so badly. I love the content, but so many times I go to log in and it doesn't recognize my password, or I am logged in , but have no ad free subscriptions despite repeatedly scanning the bar code. It is just a struggle to listen or watch anything when they constantly say they don't recognize your information. Today my password appeared in a data leak 'again. Reset my password and now guess what? They don't recognize me and I can't access the content. Despite conversations with the help team who blame these issues on all sorts of things, the errors continue. I have had history hit for almost a year, and have had partial access to couple of podcasts and have not been able to access the watchable content.
What a shame such great content and broadcasters have chosen such a badly organized platform. I thought they would have been more professional.
I am due to reset my yearly subscription but I have been given no initiatives to do so. What a shame.

Little bit of my recent history....0n…
Little bit of my recent history....0n 7th January this year our house was flooded... the works to make it 'home' again took until the 2nd week of November. During this time we were transient, staying in a rented cottage, and with our family. My escape has been Dan Snow's History Hit, it has not only educated me... at the age of 59 I didnt think I would absorb everything....but I have.... it has also kept my mind away from all of the negative thoughts that have tried to ovewhelm it. In short, its been a godsend to me personally. Back in our home I am listening daily to new and old episodes. A great way to relax and learn new 'stuff' ...anyway, thank you Dan... your gamble has paid off, well done :-)
I’ve learned so much…
Dan snows content is well researched and interesting. His voice is also easy to listen too which is important driving 2 hours plus a day through peak hour traffic lol
Awful support function
I love the content but the support is appalling.
I subscribed but could not get the podcast links provided to play ad-free content, so I e-mailed the support. I received a reply only consisting of two links that did not work either.no trouble shooting guide or explanation. In my first e-mail, i asked to cancel the purchase if the issue could not be fixed, but that was ignored. I have since sent three additional e-mails asking to cancel the purchase and I have heard nothing back since the first e-mail from them on september 15th.
It does not matter how good the content is if customers cannot receive any support when they face issues.
Great shows and great podcasts
Great shows and great podcasts, something for every history lover.
Great companion for my Walks.
I follow mostly The Ancients, Gone Medieval and Dan Brown’s.
I love the choice of subjects, the enthusiasm as well as the format based on interviews that often lead to new books.
Easy to access
Easy to access. Very diverse collection of episodes with a great range of historians contributing.
Easy to access on TV and mobile device
Easy to access on TV and mobile device. Immediately after signing up I received both written and video instructions for access.
The content is diverse and quite large. I always learn at least one new thing about the topic and usually much more than that.
Very engaging, enjoyable and informative.
I Enjoy the Programs
I have enjoyed using the History Hit app to watch their content. I stream it to my TV using Google Chromecast and I've not had any issues. I don't listen to the podcasts so I can't comment on that. New content is made available regularly...I'm always able to find new things to watch. Shows are well produced and nicely presented. I cancelled most of my streaming services and am trying to watch programs that are educational and enriching. History Hit has been amazing in that regard. Thank you!
Boring commercials 15 times
Good channel with real good documentary...BUT . every 15 minutes commercials.. and 15 times THE SAME COMERCIAL....it boring and enjoying.. stop that noncence
Locked in
With English ancestry documented from the early 18th century, I'm drawn to the country's way-back history, and HH offerings on YouTube prompted my subscription. Absolutely absorbed.
Worth the price. Excellent new history option.
Lots of valuable content. I've been surprised at how fast History Hit has built out its library. Impressive quality and fresh perspectives. Solid history without a lot of nonsense that plagues other "history" channels.
New Content
I like the fact that History Hit frequently adds shows. I was on another streaming service and discontinued use because I had watched everything that I was interested in. I enjoy the large selection of videos at a great price.
Wonderful Listening
Variety of fascinating historical - great presenters and learned historian guests. A brilliant way to pass the time!
I think History has an unequaled amount…
I think History has an unequaled amount of docos on a wide area of subjects. Great for anyone with a wide range of history interest.
Great content, more added all the time
Great content with more being added all the time. I love learning about history and History Hit helps curate everything for me.
